"I write this review with a little regret - this was my 4th computer purchased from Velocity since 2000. Generally I've had no issues with any of their work. Because of all the issues with this most recent purchase, I can't review the computer itself, because even though I received the computer almost 2 weeks ago, I still haven't turned it on (although I have no reason to believe it won't work.) Here were the problems I had with Velocity:
1 - Order was very, very late (considering that this was a computer, which is often something of an emergency.) I ordered and paid on 31 August, and the estimated shipping date was 7 September. I called after 10 September and was updated as to the progress (almost finished) but with no further estimate of shipping date. I received no notification until the computer was shipped on 14 September. I understand that there are parts issues; however, I received absolutely no notification between ordering and shipping. Not one call or one email. (I did receive two emails from the sales department asking if I'd like to place an order, both from two different people. This did not inspire confidence, as they were sent days after I'd ordered the computer. Not only did they not seem to be aware of their own sales records, but I answered both emails by asking for updates on the progress of my order, and neither person responded.)
2 - Computer was built with the wrong case. This was actually a mistake that cost Velocity money. They shipped with a large case rather than the medium case I ordered. I basically have a huge empty box the size of a small refrigerator. This was extremely irritating, as rather than just set it up on my desk, I had to rearrange my furniture to place it on the floor next to the desk, and find a small table to set it on.
3 - Computer was built with the wrong graphics card. Although it was the card I ordered, I specifically requested (and the person I ordered from confirmed) a GeForce GT 1030 with a DVI and HDMI outputs. Instead they sent me a GT 1030 with a DisplayPort and HDMI outputs. This is a primary reason I have not even started a computer I ordered over a month ago, because I had to specially order a DVI to DisplayPort cable (they are not available in electronics/computer stores.)
4 - I asked for a computer I could mount my old hard drives in. Even though they sent me a large case rather than the medium case I ordered, there was no place to mount a 3.5 drive (there was a place to mount a pair of 2.5 SSD.) This required me to order yet another special part, and attach it to the case with double-sided tape rather than screwing it in. They also connected the SATA cables incorrectly.
5 - The general assembly of the computer was sloppy. I order from Velocity because I am used to working on my own computers, but I did not expect to be adjusting the motherboard. The motherboard was so sloppily installed that it was not initially possible to connect some of the USB cables at the back of the case. The Arctic cooling system was attached to the CPU at a slight angle, and both of the cooling fans had fallen off the cooler in transit and were rattling around inside the case."

3. Our site specifies GPU model, but the board partner for that GPU may differ depending on availability. Most board partners provide a standard I/O with each GPU, but there are rare occasions when that is not the case. If you were told otherwise by our team, we can address this as well.
4. All of our cases support the install of at least one 3.5” drive. We’d be happy to walk you through how to do so on the case you received.
5. If you’re seeing misalignment of the motherboard and CPU cooler, then the unit was damaged in shipping. We have a very stringent QA process which would catch issues like these. This is something that our support team can assist you with.
