"I ordered my computer on January 3rd and was told it would be sent on the 18th. It's the 20th today and I called to find out why I still hadn't received a shipping confirmation. Turns out it was because the video card was back-ordered - a fact I was not made aware of until I called. I am sure if I hadn't I would have never known, and that bothers me a lot considering I had a time frame I was expecting the computer to arrive in. Now I have no idea as to when my computer will ship or arrive and neither does Vigor.
I was trepidacious to say the least about ordering computers online. Even from a site so well reputed. And this has, so far, only confirmed my fears. I will edit this once the computer arrives. Hopefully the computer itself will make my opinion change for the better.
EDIT: Well the computer showed up on the 22nd, which was a surprise. I was initially worried that this meant they hadn't tested it but so far it seems to be working fantastically. Besides the extremely loud front fan I am impressed by the computer in every way.
I'd most definitely use Vigor again, if just for how awesome their rigs are. Let alone their eagerness to please the customer."
"Completely satisfied with the price I paid, however, I ordered the product on the 22DEC09, and was told it had an estimated shipping date of 5JAN09, however that day passed with neither a word from Vigor, once I called them on 7JAN10, I was informed that the video cards were on back order and wouldn't be available till friday, which was a day or two away. I waited till monday and called them again. They then informed me it was still on back order, and would not be in till friday again, however they offered me a different video card that could ship on tuesday. I agreed and when I asked how long would it take to ship, I was informed 3 to 5 days. So now my computer is shipped with an estimated arrival of 19JAN10. As stated satisfied with the price, but would have enjoyed some form of contact with the company telling me the status of my order when they discovered it was back ordered, or even an upgrade on shipping to get it to me sooner when it did finally ship. The customer service employees were very kind and informative when I called and I had no wait time to talk to a real live person. Overall I would use them again, but will be sure that I contact them regularly vice waiting for them. More to come when I receive the product."
"Received my Delta Force PC 1/7/2010.Complete review is pending. Machine was DOA. Worked with Tommy on the phone to check all connections from power supply and to the mother board. Nothing found loose or disconnected. Since I was NOT convinced it would only be a defective power supply, I elected to have the machine sent back for diagnostics and repair or REPLACED.Tommy was understanding on the phone. More of this review will be forthcoming.
1/26/2010:received replacement computer and keyboard. Everything up and running as I expect. Satisfied Customer"
"This is my second experience purchasing a computer from a "boutique" builder and it is far and away better than my first. Three years ago I purchased a computer from Velocity Micro, and I was not impressed with their service. To make a long story short, the computer was over a month late and shipped with a power supply that died. Their excuses were not helpful.
When that machine died several months ago, I took a long look around at makers and particularly at their ratings and service. I quickly narrowed it down to two, and since one of my main interests was "bang for the buck" (and I don't really care about certificates of ownership that cost an extra $700, I know I paid for it), I chose Vigor gaming. I must say I was very impressed with the speed with which I was contacted and the suggestions that Chuck made when discussing the system.
When we finalized the build, it was promised for a November 25th shipping date, (however, I still had this sneaky little thought in the back of my mind that this might be optimistic as I had ordered the infamous ATI 5850 video card, and we all know how easy it is to find them). Chuck assured me that a shipment was expected and he didn't think it would be a problem. Then, about three days into the build, I decided that crossfire 5850s would be better. It was handled smoothly and the machine actually shipped December 1st. Considering the Thanksgiving weekend delay, I was pleasantly surprized. The machine arrived 4 days later and was up and running about 15 minutes after the UPS truck left.
So far, the machine has been everything I hoped for and more. I would encourage anyone who is interested in a high quality machine at a great price (I figured that if I bought the parts and built it myself the price would have been about $100 cheaper) with a minimum of fuss and great customer service to try Vigor Gaming. I'm sure you won't be disappointed."
"went thru sales process quickly.noticed my rig was in quality check for 4 days so,i fired off an email.they responded almost immediately .and it was not a canned message. it was a response by an actual person.told me my rig would ship out monday 11/7. i checked on vigor site and yes it has shipped.they have been Polite, Punctual, and Personable.it will not arrive until friday i will hold my 4th "P" until then.Perfect ....bad luck hits.UPS sends me an email.due to bad weather rig would be delayed.saw nothing on tracking after 12/8 and it is 12/12 so,i ask vigor if they may have better luck with info on rig,s status.20 minutes later, a response and ups is showing a 12/14 delivery.i just got it up and running.it is beautiful.i picked what went in to this beauty right down to brand of motherboard .all parts were the best of the best.the packaging was top notch.not a dent or mark on anything.worked right out of the box.superb service, workmanship, and quality .thank you vigor update....i had a problem with missing bios.turned on rig and got...no operating system found. i called vigor at 10am and at 10:20am my bios was up and running.i cant say enough good things about this company.customer service is 1st rate and personable.if you have a question or a problem, send them an email an answer will come quickly.wtf happened? vigor where r u ?i just spent 6 grand on a kick ass freakin gaming rig and zero support?awesome.you think the ceo would have sent out a statement concerning the future statis of vigor or an alternate site to get service and/or support.what a freakin asshat.im suprised none of the pc magazines that gave reviews (bad or good)have written anything on the state of vigor.i am fortunate i got my rig before the meltdown.if my favorable review had any impact on anybodies decision to purchase a vigor made rig,i apologize.HEY VIGOR,YOU SUCK! "
"This is the second computer that I have ordered from Vigor. The first was last year for my daughtor. This unit was purchased on sale but when asked to add a second CD/DVD drive at a nominal cost they said "no problem" and it shipped out within the said time.
You can tell a company by how they deal with issues. When it arrived the keyboard had several key issues and when I called they immediately shipped another one and said to junk that one.
I would whole heartedly reccomend Vigor to anyone looking for a system."
"I ordered a computer on the 2nd of November, I used the internet form to order. I like their internet order process, the lack of graphics and the drop down selections of as many as thirty parts options was a welcome change to Dell's.
Order placed, estimated ship date was the 16th, and it told me I'd get a confirmation call within 48 hours. Phone rang in about 45 minutes after I clicked "confirm" and checked for my confirmation e-mail. Definitely enjoyed that personal touch.
Order status was kept updated, also liked that they displayed "Gathering parts" "building computer" and "final testing" on the status page. The computer shipped a day late, I called to upgrade the shipping to 3 day so that I'd get it on Friday instead of the following monday, and that went off without a hitch as well.
When the computer arrived the actual box was a little shredded from transit, but the tower inside seemed fine, Vigor uses some pretty decent packing materials to keep it suspended. Opened it up, attached it to the mouse, keyboard, and monitor I got from newegg.com, and fired it up.
Not one hitch since then that isn't entirely Microsoft's fault. The computer runs sweet as hell, no additional unasked for software, and I absolutely love that I got the retail box for my copy of windows 7, last computer was an Alienware and before that a Dell, both sent me burnt custom install cds for windows with all their own stuff on it, and in paper CD protectors.
I've e-mailed them twice since I got the computer, once about the case lights and once about my invoice number to fill this out. Both were responded to within 24 hours and all help needed or possible was rendered. Sadly, I cannot dim or selectively turn off the case lights, I will warn you that if you get a vigor system you can expect a decent bit of extra ambient light in the room, but I was offered help with disconnecting the lights from the fans installed in the case, and if you don't like the light I'm sure they'd disconnect them during the build for you.
The only off note struck was with call process, I gave them some feedback and either its been fixed or I just got a couple of new hires, either way I got a polite e-mail back acknowledging it and promising to look into it.
I ordered a Dell a month before I ordered this computer, canceled and ordered from Vigor, and could not be happier with the results. I got a better computer in a quarter of the time Dell took (and was still delayed) and I paid 200 less than what I was going to pay for the Dell I ordered.
Will definitely buy again. "
"I actually had purchased my rig over two years ago in the summer of 2007. I'm still using it today, and am going to buy a new baby next summer to replace the one that is aging gracefully. 99.9% sure the next one will also be from Vigor.
I spent a lot of time to complete an extensive research to find the most competative deals, and best reviewed custom builders until I finally decided to go with Vigor. One of the best electronics related decisions I have made in my life.
The computer came, booted up fast, and has been flying since. The cabling is extremely professional and clean, and the case is solid and good looking.
Their thermoelectric Monsoon CPU cooler is fantastic. I am DEFINITELY having it installed on my next computer. I leave my rig on 24/7, and use it extensively for video editing, gaming, and the daily activities of the internets. It's a core duo 2.4 Ghz, overclocked to 3.2 since I tweeked it on day one, and the core temperature has yet to go beyond 35 degrees.
I am very impressed with their customer service, fast and very well packaged shipping, as well as all the manuals, disks, and parts that should come with my computer.
This review is a bit late, but from a customer whose been using his computer for over 2.5 years, their quality is tried and true as promised."
"After much research into various gaming computer companies I settled on Vigor Gaming. Due in no small part to the reviews on this website.
I placed the order and was called the to confirm the order(which is a standard procedure with Vigor. You have to love the personal touch) During the call I was informed that the RAM that I ordered was out of stock and that they were upgrading me.
10 Business days later (which was utter agony, I was extremely excited to get my hands on this PC, but you can't rush perfection.) The PC shipped and took a long UPS trek across the country. I got the package and there was some minor damage to the box . I opened it up to find a computer that probably would survive the nuclear holocaust due to great packing. Booted up windows 7 professional no problem and am in the process of downloading and installing everything.
This PC is a dream come true. I would recommend Vigor to anyone and will be buying from them again. "
"My experience with Vigor Gaming was great the computer was finished on schedule and was exactly as ordered. I picked it up at their shop took it home and the computer worked amazingly. I had one small problem with what I thought was a problem with the video card but their service department (which was very helpful and took the time to answer all my questions) helped me out on the phone and it turned out to be a hardware issue with a monitor I had purchased previously (this was an old monitor not one of theirs) after that the compter worked flawlessly. I was very impressed with the company and would highly recommend them to anyone."
"great product and great service. was worried as anyone spending serious cash for a gaming system would but WOW--what a nice suprise! a company you can believe in. will send friends and family to vigor. an exceptional buying experience "
"After quite a bit of shopping around and reading reviews of the major custom gaming computer builders I settled on Vigor Gaming. Vigor doesn't include a fancy binder filled with test results or "owner certificates", nor do they include a tee shirt with every system. They do, however, provide expertly assembled high-performance systems. I requested that my Core i7-920 2.66Ghz processor be overclocked yet remain stable. When I booted it up the first time I was happy to see that it was running at 3.67GHZ, with no stability issues at all.
The high reviews here at Resellerratings.com played a large role in my decision, but conversations with the infamous Chuck at Vigor while deciding what components I wanted clinched the deal. Chuck was returning my emails on Labor Day weekend, with good sound advice that actually saved me from overspending a bit in areas where I really wouldn’t get the most “bang for my buck”.
I did have a minor issue that may have been related to UPS hauling my new computer across the country, apparently hitting every pothole. Chuck and Tommy at Vigor both worked with my to get the problem resolved, with what turned out to be an upgrade part sent at their expense. I was very impressed.
The Vigor website could be a bit more specific about the components used and a little less philosophical, but that’s the only area I’d maybe suggest could be improved upon.
So if you are into all the swag, which you pay for somewhere along the way, order from the other guys. If you are like me and prefer the meat and potatoes over the parsley, get a system from Vigor. They do a great job, and they stand behind what they sell."
"I ordered a gaming PC from Vigor in late August. The order processing page was easy to follow and submit, and my order was followed up by a phone call from them within a day of my order being placed.
The order tracker on their website was accurate down to the day the PC shipped out, from assembly through Q/C to final shipment. I was very pleased with being able to see the progress of the order. There was also a second phone call from Vigor the day before the PC shipped out.
This was my first time buying a complete system online.
And this....brings me to Chuck. If there is one reason and one reason alone you should get a gaming PC from Vigor, it is CHUCK! He is the most helpful and friendly customer contact I have ever dealt with online. I had numerous questions regarding my video card, power supply, monitor, and other technical issues while I was setting up my system. Chuck not only answered all my questions, but sometimes responded to my emails within minutes of me sending them. We exchanged no less then ten email communications, and he sent DETAILED and lengthy replies to my inquiries. He just made the whole setup and the whole process an absolute joy! For how he treated me as a customer is worth buying from Vigor alone, but on top of Chuck being a fantastic and knowledgeable friend along the way, Vigor has a great warranty on parts and labor, and you can contact them at any time if any problems arise.
The computer was packaged with great care, it arrived in perfect shape with nothing loose or damaged, and everything was bundled and organized exactly as Chuck described.
The PC is running smooth as can be, and Chuck and the rest of Vigor are on hand to talk you through any problems that come up.
If you are hesitant about buying a PC or gaming PC online, do yourself a favor and do a search of customer reviews of Vigor, you will see five stars over and over again. They have one of the best customer service ratings for PC's, and now I know why!"
"I purchased a Delta Force AE from vigor and the looks and performance well exceeded my expectations. Less than an hour after ordering online I received a call from them confirming my purchase and computer specs. It was about 2 weeks before i received my computer but during the wait I was able to track the progress and shipping of the computer. All in all my experience ordering from vigor was great"
"Found a former employee of Vigor Gaming and emailed him. This is what he told me:
Andrew,
Yes. In early January of this year the owner of the company instructed several of the employees (myself included) to basically lie to customers about the state of their computers and their computer orders. We would not comply with these orders and basically refused to work in such conditions unless they were rectified. The underlying issue seemed to be that credit card debt or accounts payable debt to both customers and vendors (people Vigor Gaming purchased parts from) was stacking up and the owner (who has/had sole ownership and responsibility for the financial operations of the company) apparently did not know how to correctly deal with it. It got to the point that we were unable to answer the service/support/inquiry e-mails from customers wondering about what was going on because either we did not know the answers to them or the e-mail service was down because the the owner was not paying the webhosting company to provide the e-mail service.
At the end of January, all of the remaining Vigor Gaming employees (several had been let go in December), sent a registered letter to the owner (who at this point was not coming in to the office during the day) and to as many of the people Vigor Gaming owed money to as we could discern saying that we were no longer employees of the company (basically announcing our resignation from the company). The reality of the situation is we were all fired, since none of us received pay for our work from November, December, and January. Additionally, the old Vigor Gaming facility is locked up and none of us have access to it to obtain some of our personal belongings that were left there several months ago. Consequently we really have no idea what has become of anything inside the office, but we have received many inquiries from people asking what happened to the computer they sent in for repair and other similar things.
In any case, we are working on setting up a sort of "self help" website/forum for former customers of Vigor Gaming who have been screwed over and are in need of assistance with their computers. We hope to be able to help people as much as possible and we do feel very badly about what has happened but, unfortunately, it was really all out of our control.
Please let me know if you have any questions or anything.
Best Regards,
Chuck Morris
System Engineer
Hope this helps."
