I purchased just the text, so since I do not have a join code for the course with TopHat, I cannot seem to access the book. I've contacted both VitalSource and TopHat customer service, but it still isn't working. Because I opened the link or the textbook access code in an effort to see the text, I cannot refund. Avoid when using third party purchases through VitalSource!"

"I chose VitalSource because of the audio feature associated with its text. I had high hopes for success and saw the experience comparable to that of Pearson's text features. I was dead wrong.
Since joining, I have had nothing but challenges and problems. Not only is the audio terrible, but the audio reading is out of order, providing unnecessary and irrelevant audio for fine print details such as publishing details, page numbers, etc. for each page. It literally reads every word, like it or not. Not to mention the gross mispronunciation of words, and failure to pause or read in any way that might help someone who needs the assistance of audio text. It does not follow the text. AI has failed here. Not only is the audio terrible, but the Bookshelf website fails to load pages, constantly times out and will freeze for no reason at all. Not only does it not save your page, it also loses your notes.
SAVE YOUR SANITY, YOUR MONEY, AND YOUR TIME. Use another source. Unfortunately, VitalSource and its Bookshelf feature are a total waste and a liability to anyone planning to use its features successfully. "
"I was able to access the book once, and now I am unable to access it. According to the provisions of the paid rental, I was under the impression I paid for 30 days.
Unless this is resolved, I will not use your service nor recommend it to any colleague or student. I am a Transitions Coordinator at a community college in Illinois.
