"I recently made an "on-line" purchase. I ordered a half gallon of anti-foul boat bottom paint, a specific product which is excellent and sold by West Marine. Since I live in a very rural setting I find myself using on-line services more and more, and I have used West Marine's on-line service before and with complete satisfaction. Well this particular time the paint arrived promptly as promised BUT when I opened the shipment box, the top on the can of paint was not secured and paint was everywhere BUT also shipped inside of a plastic bag which kept the product beautifully contained. My problem was, I lost my boat bottom paint. My wife contacted West Marine and provided them with invoice numbers and shipment information and they shipped me a new container of paint that very same day, no questions asked. Great service, great products and one happy customer. You can buy from West Marine with complete confidence, first class company. Michael S."
"Bought item on line and they refuse to ship or refund my money. should have bought from local company and saved my self time. WONT EVER USE West Marine again to many local companies do they same for a few dollars more at least you have the product in hand when you leave the store."

"Ordered impeller kit and only received impeller. Spoke with customer service and a kind gentleman offered to send correct impeller and kit. Get the order it’s the same impeller no kit. Speak with customer service I’m told that they have the right impeller with no kit but at my own expense. I place the order card is declined , I check and there charging me 50 dollars for a 16.95 impeller. I call they state to me they can’t cancel the order. I said just send me the impeller. If they send me the wrong impeller or charge me 50bucks I’m writing a bad review on every review website.Almost a month later still don’t have the item"
"Came today May 18 at 3 pm buy a lot of staff on this store located on friendship road 5221 lanier island parkway Buford ga 30518. We were checking out with over $800 with the stuff and the manager argued with us about a $20 buy one get 1 free item when the sign says clearly the promotion . He wanted to force us to pay full price for both products with no promotion . We couldn’t understand the behavior of a store manager arguing with a customer for no valid reason . When we asked him to show us where it says that we had to get the same item for free he couldn’t proved it and he just continued to argue saying repetitive “is just the way that it is”
It was not our intention to get something for free but when the store advertising any special should be clear to avoid inconvenience with the customers . We were getting the same brand product one for cleaning and another for wax exactly what they advertised
Finally he said that he was going to do a favor to us and he approved it but after he approved it he said “you should be nice with me” .... Are you serious ? Sorry but this manager needs some customer service training Asap!
Based on this experience we will never shop there again !

"I ordered the wrong part. Once received called customer service for an exchange. Associate told me easier to refund and I re-order part. Ok. I asked for refund then immediately ordered new part on website. Two weeks later Got new part in still no refund. Three weeks, Second call said they would process refund again. Week later still no return. Called again made them send me return paperwork as I was on phone. Got it two minutes later. Three weeks later received a West Marine gift card! WTF?"
"Ordered about 25 items. One came damaged and was returned. Four hours on the phone nothing! Just getting the run around. They will be out of business soon if they don't get a handle on their operation. Beware! "
"I ordered online four push button door latches in the same order, with standard shipping (3 to 7 days). They were all showing as "In stock". I never received the confirmation email. I called after a few days to ask what was going on. Turned out my items had not been shipped. They were not able to explain why, they just said that the warehouse was "a little behind". But they still tried to encourage me to buy more items to make the most of the Memorial Day! 3 out of three items finally shipped after 9 days, the remaining one shipped after 10 days. And they didn't upgrade the shipment to make up the lost time, even worse, as the UPS tracking was finally telling me it was in town the delivery date got pushed by another two days because "at the request of the sender the parcel has now been transferred to the Post Office services"!!! Unbelievable....
This was my first purchase with WM and will definitely be the last one."
"I ordered a pair of outriggers on sale. I was then told they were shipping from a store so they would be delayed. Then they cancelled my order and said they were no longer available and won’t be restocked. One week later they send me a sale add that I double checked online. The exact set, color and size are on sale again!! Ordered April 25, order cancelled May 7th. New sale add delivered to my home May 14th.Not sure if it’s false advertising or a bait and switch and/or very poor business practices. Be smart and shop elsewhere. Ordered "
"I ordered a 20hp Mercury outboard thru the On-Line feature (big mistake, I should have read the reviews first) They stated that it would take 2 to 3 weeks, they told me several times the motor was in stock, shipped to a warehouse in South Carolina, and would be shipped to the outlet store and arrive on April 27th, the motor was a no show on that date, so I called them, Again, was told another Bulls**t story of why it was delayed, I then call Mercury Global headquarters in WI, and was told, Mercury has a 20 business day lead time for all small 2018 outboard motors, because of demand, Mercury is currently making them as fast as they can, and orders go directly to the factory in Japan, as they do not have small outboards in stock in the US, West Marine could have told me that instead of lying to me. Just another example of dishonest and shady business practices, I would like to see them go out of business and be shutdown"
