I don't mind paying for appropriate shipping costs but to tax these charges is, in my view, a bad business practice. The combination of sales taxes and taxes charged on my shipping costs totaled over 12% on my last order!!! When I called the company to discuss this with them, they said it was a common practice (can you imagine the US Postal Service applying an additional tax to the stamps we purchase?).
