"I tried a guitar, one that has caused a great controversy all over message boards everywhere. The guitar i looked at? A Zager Zad900, about a $2500 dollar git, wasn't meaning to, i was looking at an old rosewood Gibson Blue Ridge. But, honestly, the Zager was better in every single regard. I did still want to at least try the guitar to see if it is the total piece of crap some people say or does it make some decent sounds? Well, first impression was , Oh, this is a tiny body! like a 00, so then i figured, i pray its not boxy sounding, most small gits sound like tiny boxes lol. To my surprise, it did not! Not only that but WOW this thing BOOMED! Like a killer Martin kind of boom. After playing it only about 3 chords in it was painfully obvious this was VASTLY SUPERIOR to my Taylor 914ce deluxe with rosewood back n sides ($7900). I mean, not even close, this reminded me of a Martin 000-28. Now, i am certain the brand snobs and country snobs will reply how this git is trash because its not a Martin blah blah blah, but i dont think anyone who has actually played a Zager can say it does not sound good, it sounds like a $7000 guitar to me, its boomy with tons of lovely bass, its amazing to think this was only 2500?? It also felt very light, im not sure how good the construction is on these, it felt like it was fragile to be honest. But, the top and rosewood back really resonated well, this was a stage ready instrument 100%. Moral of the story? Well, ive been posting on the Gibson forums 10 years and the best advice I've ever received from the old timers was, forget other peoples reviews, go try the guitars out in person for yourself. You may find that an Epiphone or Zagar or Breedlove plays betters for you than a super expensive be all end all brand. Far too many people on all these message boards get caught up in other people's opinion and not their own. Oh and get this, i bought an epiphone hummingbird last year, it had more sustain than 3 Gibson acoustics i played right next to, those being a j-45, j-15 and dove. So, yea, i still love Gibson, my favorites are dove and j-45s but i keep my mind open to others brands. Did i buy the Zager? Well, no, but would i trade for one? If it sang like the first one YES, and I've owned 55 guitars in my 50 years so I'd certainly acquire one if the opportunity presented itself."
"I play gigs 3 to 4 times a week and I certainly put my equipment and guitars to the test. I have three guitars that I use to play out and it seems like every other week I've got something going on with one of them and I have to rotate it out and get it worked on. But the only guitar I have yet to do that with is my Zager ZAD 900CE 50th Anniversary edition. It is legitimately the only one of my guitars that I can depend on week in and week out. Just this past couple of gigs, I've only brought with me just my one Zager because the other two are in the shop. By the way, one of those guitars in the shop happens to be a $3500 Taylor. Now believe it or not, I've been looking into buying a custom K14 Taylor for a while now and have been really excited about getting it, but lately I've really started to question whether it would be worth spending 7 grand on. And if I wasn't happy with it, I would end up getting stuck with it until I unload it on some unsuspecting buyer for a few grand less than what I paid for it. So what did I do instead? I saved myself 5 grand and bought myself a Zager ZAD 80CE Johnny Cash Edition. And if I don't like it... I'll send it back because they offer that money back guarantee. People who speak poorly of Zager guitars don't own one obviously, I challenge you to find a terrible review of a Zager guitar from actual owners... it will be hard pressed. Do yourself a favor... don't waste your money on buying the Taylors, Martins, Takemines, etc. Go out and get yourself a Zager, I'm certain you won't be disappointed and if you are... send it back "
"I just ordered my 4th Zager guitar, a ZAD 900E 12, which won't be ready until July. As they say, good things come to those who wait. I also have a ZAD 80 EOM, a ZAD 50E, and a Mahogany Parlor A/E, all of which are my favorite guitars. I also have 2 Gibsons, a Guild Jum
bo 12, a Mossman, and an Ovation A/E Legend. The Zagers are easier to play, have great action and sound, and of course, looks. I am very impressed with the quality of these instruments, as they are far and away superior to the major manufacturers, for a much lower price. I am even more impressed with the customer service. With each one of my orders I had a million questions, all of which were answered promptly and politely. To be honest, I was a bit of a pain in the **** with the number of calls I made, but they were all answered with great patience. It is my pleasure to write a positive review for a company which takes such pride in its products, and values its customers as much as they do. I recommend Zager guitars to the professional, intermediate, and beginning players due to their ease of playing and sensational sound. If you're in the market for a new guitar, Zager should be your first choice.

"My Zager 80CE is a work of art and an engineering miracle in design (perhaps channeled from creator Danny Zager from the year 2525!). Easy to play for hours with a heavenly tone. My 'lefty' came with the optional add-on pick guard, but fit on the standard rightie. An email got a reply the same day with the correct replacement being shipped. My review is tardy as I needed to recover from an arm injury to get back to the joy of playing. "
"I have a Martin, Ovation, and Orangewood guitars, and I enjoy them. The Zager ZAD80CE guitar I just received is an excellent example of beauty and good sound and now I just want to play it. The others will probably just collect dust now (ha ha). It is everything they claim for it: easy play. The strings are set just a little more apart but hardly noticeable in one way, but does make playing easier. It doesn't take much pressure to get a good sound. Again, I love the look of the guitar, but I really love the sound, which I am sure will only improve with time -- rich, full, and warm. No matter where I go on the neck, the tone is perfect. Pinging the harmonics rings clear. I must say that I love, love, love this guitar!! Worth every cent. And I also want to say that the customer service is great. Every email I sent was answered within a day and was helpful. "
"Full disclosure - I am not a professional musician, I am a math teacher. I played a little guitar in college (not very good but very enthusiastically) and recently took it up again after a four decade break. I was intrigued when Zager adds popped into my FaceBook feed. My fingers are not as flexible or as straight as they once were and the idea of “Easy Play” sounded interesting. I did my research and discovered this was a legitimate company and ordered a guitar in January. Due to supply chain issues, it arrived in April. The model I purchased is a ZAD80 Acoustic Pro Series with case. I requested the pick guard to be installed.
Upon opening the box, my first impression was “that’s one impressive case.” The exterior has many very stable feet - the guitar won’t fall over whether placed vertically, horizontally, or on the side. The interior is plush with a large compartment for storing accessories. The guitar itself if beautiful (and the installed pick guard follows the curve of the inlay precisely). The craftsmanship is excellent. I felt like Cinderella when she sees her gown for the ball.
I tuned the guitar and started to play. The fretboard feels subtly different than the other guitars I’ve played. I think it’s a combination of curvature and spacing and did take a few minutes to get used to. I don’t play for hours on end, so I honestly can’t say whether or not it is easier on the hands. The chords that I have trouble with sounded a bit cleaner, the string height is easy to adjust. I don’t have the knowledge or the vocabulary to discussed tone. What I can say is that the sound of the guitar is beautiful. I felt like I had traded up my Ford for a Mercedes.
I would recommend the Zager ZAD80 to my friends. The instrument is fabulous, the team responds to e-mail quickly. I’m not a professional, just a regular person who is very happy with my purchase.

"I had played guitar ever since I was 12, and had pretty much stopped playing guitar. I've
played all the brand names you've heard of and for playability the Zager ZAD80 CE I received is the best. It is
a beautiful instrument of heirloom quality, very well made and I expect it to become my "go to" guitar. Thanks to Denny and son
for helping make this possible."
"I just purchased a ZAD900CEOM from the Zager guitar company and boy am I pleased. I got a high quality guitar at half the price of the brand names. Zager’s claims of easier playability are absolutely true. Get one as soon as possible. "
"I bought a ZAD 50 in about 2004 or 2005, it is signed by Denny on the back (I wouldn't want to loose that iconic signature) and on the label inside dated 2004. I have been playing this guitar ever since I received it back then. It only gets better with age! I highly recommend all you players out there to experience the Zager quality, 100% satisfaction guaranteed, what do you have to loose. The price points also are comparable to other quality guitars. Try a Zager and you won't be disappointed! "
"I struggled for a long time trying to play an inexpensive guitar. Even after modifications to lower the string height, it was still difficult to play as I suffer from arthritis in my hands. After reading the reviews and watching several videos, I decided to take a chance with a Zager guitar. I thought, what did I have to lose with a money-back guarantee? When I received my Zager ZAD50CEOM, all I could say was WOW! First of all, it is a beauty! The sound quality is rich and full. It is much louder than my old full-size acoustic guitar. And, I can play it for much longer periods of time without my hands hurting. I would not trade this guitar for any other! Thank you Mr. Zager, Dennis Jr., and the entire Zager team! You have made my dream of playing guitar a reality."
"One of the best experiences I have ever had purchasing from an internet vendor. In this case I purchased a Zager Easy Play No Sore Fingers Acoustic Guitar Package 41 inch Full Size. Since I am a beginner at learning the guitar, I really had no idea what "full size" really meant. In this case it is a 41" acoustic "dreadnought", a very thick and long guitar. It has beautiful sound, but I felt daunted by the size because I could not see around the fretboard to form chords without twisting the guitar toward me, which also meant my hands were in the wrong position to form the chords. That was MY limitation, and I don't blame the guitar. I believe that once I have achieved some mastery in forming and changing chords without looking at my hands, I will be able to play the larger guitar. In the meantime, I wanted a smaller, narrower bodied guitar that I can use now to learn. I reached out to Denny Jr who was amazing and very accomodating to my needs. After explaining my dilemma to him and suggesting that the Parlor size electric/acoustic would suit me better, even though it was slightly more expensive. I suggested that he could leave out some of included accessories and I would pay any upcharge for the difference in price. I was floored when Denny Jr replied that he would be happy to make the exchange and that there would be no upcharge. He even emailed me a FedEx label to ship my original guitar back to them. I followed the tracking of my guitar from Florida back to Nevada and I was expecting they would ship the replacement once they received the original guitar. How surprised was I when I came home a few days later and found the replacement guitar had already arrived, even though the original had not yet been delivered. Awesome is all I can say. It just shows that the people at Zager Guitars are real and they CARE about their customers. They don't just talk about it. It's not like dealing with a vendor 10,000 miles away who doesn't speak your language and sells 10,000 other products besides the item you have a problem with.
Thank you Denny and Denny Jr. You have an awesome brand and with all the great people you have, I'm not sure why other acoustic guitar companies are still in business, except for those people who want to pay $10,000 for a Martin just so they can brag about owning one. Well I can brag that I own an excellent Zager guitar that didn't cost me a fortune.
BTW I love 2525."
"Just received my Zager Guitar ZAD500 M/N and it plays and sound fantastic. This is the second Zager Guitar and the old one can't compete with my new ZAD55 M/N. There is another guitar that if I had the funds I would pic up from Zager it's there ZAD90 O/M Mahogany that looks great."
"After experiencing the personal attention to my questions, before buying, I am now moved by the integrity of this solid built guitar. The action is better than my Alvarez guitars. I find more comfort in forming chords with less fret buzz and/or finger crowding. It feels a tad different, but I attribute that to years of using other guitars, often with their challenges. String height adjustment is possible, the craftmanship is top notch, having received improved bracing, as Denny Zager noted. The sound w/out amplification is deep & warm. All in all, I consider this my last 'main' guitar, and it has so far proven itself!"
"Beautiful instrument. Great workmanship & detailing. Sounds & plays very well. Top notch customer service: helpful & friendly. Very satisfied!"
"Great customer service. Not only are they a family business, but they also treat you like family as well. They were so helpful on all the questions I kept bothering them with. Love my zad20! I definitely recommend them to anyone to at least give them a try. They keep there word, which is rare these days. -Kurt"
