Horrible service and rude treatment!

"1) The shipping company was showing an expected receipt date up to two weeks later than AJ Madison’s website.
2) The receipt emailed to me a day AFTER the purchase indicated a restocking fee of 30% for a return or rejection by the customer.

I called customer service the day after the order and asked for a cancellation. I could not get a straight answer as to why there was a difference in expected receiving dates. If the shipping company was right it could take up to a month to receive the appliance. Also, I did not want to be charged a restocking fee if the appliance came damaged and I rejected it. After arguing for a few minutes with the customer service representative, I was told there would be NO charge to cancel, but he had to contact a manager right away to shop the shipping. Shortly after he emailed me to tell me it shipped and they are going to charge $150 if I canceled. Next he asked if I wanted to cancel or proceed with the order. Within six minutes I sent him an email back with questions about discrepancies with what the salesman and the shipping company were stating about unpacking at delivery. I was trying to get information to decide if it was worth moving forward with the order. NO answer from him.

The following business day I still had not received an answer so I emailed again and asked him if he received my Friday email, and to provide an answer to my restocking fee question. I had called the shipping company and got a firm delivery answer so I told him “that works”, but I have still have an unanswered question on the restocking charge if I send back the item due to damage. He did not respond again until two days later when I called my salesman David to try to complain. I explained what had happened with customer service and my concern with a potential chargeback if I do not accept delivery due to damage (this is stated on the delivery company’s website). Dave did not allow me to finish my sentence and immediately transferred me to customer service. I could not believe how rude these people were so I hung up.

The way I was treated when I tried to ask reasonable questions and receive timely answers was unforgivable. I made a mistake ever doing business with this company!

Poor employee

"I called to get a price on a refrigerator. The sales rep that quote me $11,000 for a GE, I then told him I could buy a Subzero locally for $12,000 he hung up on me. Real sales rep. I will never call this company again!"

One Star So Far

"I wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing a refrigerator from these people. I purchased the fridge a week ago and my status has said nothing but "processing" ever since. They don't respond to emails, phone calls or status requests filled out on their site. I purchased from them because they said they had the unit in stock. Now it says its out of stock. How do I report for bait and switch?

Absolutely the worst place to buy an appliance

"I am writing this review while being on hold with them (55 minutes so far and counting)

I wish there were a way to give this company negative 5 stars. Such place should not be in business, period. Eight months awaiting a delivery, endless hours spent arguing with them over inventory and partial shipments, absolutely horrible customer support, and the managers, don't even care or respond to you

Now, you probably heard this before, and you say to yourself "Just another disgruntled customer". However, this is not your average story at all. read on!

1) Order was placed December 1, for 4 appliances. I was told lead time was a month. I basically had to call every week to see if the appliances are in or not.

2) After 2 months, turns out one of them was finally available, but they would not partial ship, because they did not want to pay their shipper twice. I ended up paying for it to ship.

3) Two months later, another appliance became available. Their shipping company calls you around 4 pm the day before, and tells you to be ready to receive the appliance the following morning, giving you no time at all to make arrangements if needed. They dropped off the appliance outside and let me to figure out how to bring it in. The guy said he was doing me a favor by dropping the appliance at the doorsteps instead of by the curb.

4) Two months later, another appliance became available, but the manager kept contradicting his customer support folks and said it was not true. It was one customer support guy, who accidentally kept me on the email chain, that clued me to the fact that the manager was either clueless or lying. He, at that point, had no choice but to fess up to the fact the appliance was in stock, and he agreed to ship it.

5) Finally, after 8 months, the fridge became available. As usual, we got the early evening call, and raced to our place that night to receive the fridge, only to find out the following morning that they shipped us the wrong brand altogether. Several communications with customer support, and the store manager, still produced no information after 10 days. They charged my credit card and no product. Now I have to dispute the charge with the credit card company.

Save yourself the headaches and hassle. If you don't want to wait months after your order, spend a week of your time on hold with customer support, and send a 100 emails to get your appliance, Just shop elsewhere.

So dishonest!

"I am certain these people are not honest. They advertise free delivery but I paid $75. I wrote special delivery instruction in the appropriate box. They advertise that I will get an email and phone call before delivery. Neither happened. The A.C. was delivered next door. I am 67 and there is no way I can carry it.

I called an complained and they said UPS would come back and bring it to my home. They never did. I called and spend at least 1 1/2 hours on the phone, got disconnected twice and no one called back.

I will never shop with them again!

They will no replace my item.

"I purchased an electric range on 2/24 order# 131506275 along with their New leaf service Pro 1 unit 5 year warranty and Smart choice installation accessory. I paid the amount of $1,501.00 for the range. AJMadison committed to providing a brand new electric range that I did not receive. The range is severely damaged. Once I unpacked the range from the box. I saw there was no shrink wrapping on the stove as there was for the refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher that I also purchased from AJMadison. I have included photos of the damages on the range. The rubber seal that traps the heat from escaping from the range is broken. There is an enormous scrap near the bolt in the middle of the range where the door would clasp on to so it can lock. There are smudges all over the range. The bottom drawer is severely scrapped as if this is a refurbished range. There is heavy discoloration in the bottom drawer along both edges and backing of the drawer. There is a scrape along the upper right corner of the draw frame and the whole right side of the frame is warped. If you are facing the range, the right leg is broken and the screws are both stripped. Every time I call the company to speak with someone I am on hold for over 2 hrs. I am then advised I have reached the incorrect department and then connected over and disconnected on. I reached out to Megan Messing via email address. I was advised my replacement has been approved. I will need to send the serial tag via UPS referencing my order number and ATT Megan. The business has yet to resolve my current issue due to my package not being received on their end with the serial tag. I have also sent the serial number via email per their request. I am demanding a full refund for this range and requesting the company send someone to pick up this NON NEW REFURBISHED RANGE from my residence. "

awful awful company STAY AWAY as much as you can

"after a long search i came across with this company and after find an electric range that I look for it, call them to see when I would get this range if i place order right away, and sale person (David Ettelson) which obviously looking to get the deal promised with in 5-7 business day I will get the range and after 14 days when I called(after 45 min. to 1 hour waiting on the line) could talk to some one which didn't have any answer and have to call again and again and finally talk to a lady that said will check with tracking company and call/email me back which she didn't (same attitude with other people in this company) the next day again call to David and he didn't have any answer for me and just just transferred me to another line which again waiting for more than 20 min. and finally talk to Brian(he said he is) and like others he didn't have any answer and lying about the lady that would going to contact with me for the tracking information and he kind of hang up on me(actually transferred me to David which went off completely) and now another day passed no news not easy to talk to any one. this is a horrible experience with a company and every one in this company try to scape from any answer. just remember if you want to prevent getting into such things highly recommend to go to a local store and get your appliances directly from them and do not even think about to buy any thing from them.
save your money time and stay away from them.

"I just spend over $1,200 on a fancy new oven and it arrived damaged. AJ Madison isn't even picking up the phone to help me get it straightened out. Until this is resolved, I would not recommend them!"

A hot mess

"This company is a mess at best. Therefore, if you have time and money to waste they are a superb choice to work with. Communication is extremely poor, no one is available to answer your call and the excuses come in fast about their poor performance and why they cannot seem to get anything right. They do not listen to orders, delay the process, and send damaged goods weeks late. They are not customer service oriented and will take your money fast. Would not recommend and it is worth paying a little extra through a legit company with a legit service. "

Non-existent customer service

"We bought a microwave from AJ Madison. It arrived defective, and so we have been trying to get a refund. But their customer service is non-existent, and I mean that literally. No response to emails (after 2 weeks) and nobody answers the phone. On two separate occasions we have called and sat on hold for an hour, only to be hung up on. Be warned that after getting your money, they will no longer care."

I bought many things with AJ Madison and had some problems with my rebate.

"I bought many things with AJ Madison and had some problems with my rebate. The company is great, Megan was very nice and helpful (she even applied for some items for me on line). The company stands behind their services and product, not mentioned that they have the best financial benefit if you buy with "their credit card". I had problems with additional $500 in rebate, but even they had a problem for my rebate with one if their suppliers, AJ Madison compensated me on their own. They promised, they kept their promise, they paid me. I thinks that AJ Madison is the best company I have ever dealt with. I would recommend them to any one and I will buy from them again! Thanks, AJ Madison!

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! Promises made with no intention of following through!

"Please do not use this company. I had a terrible experience and they don't pick up their phones or respond to emails once they take your money. The salesman lied to me directly just to get at sale. I told him my fridge had stopped working and I was desperate to get a new one. He told me the fridge would be on a truck the following day on it's way to me. I'm now 2 weeks out and their scam partner, AM Trucking (Checkout their negative reviews!) was a no show twice with sketchy excuses. AJ Madison charged my card immediately but I still haven't received my fridge. Ca;; wait times are hours long and they don't respond to emails. The same goes for the trucking company they use. I feel like I've been scammed and I'm now reading their reviews (stupid me for not reading them in advance) and seeing that many others have had my same experience. Please do not use this company!!!!!! Or AM Trucking for that matter!"

Terrible customer service

"I ordered an air conditioner from them that ended up being backordered. There was no indication on the site that the unit was unavailable. After 2 weeks with no update I finally reached out, only to be told that it was backordered and wouldn't arrive for at least 6 weeks. While annoying, I understand that supply chains are strained right now and air conditioners in particular are in high demand.

The final straw was when I called to have my billing information updated. I spoke to someone in their billing department that was unbelievably rude and short with me. It's not like I was calling to dispute an issue. I just wanted to update my credit card information, but she spoke to me like I was an idiot who was wasting her time with an annoying task. I'm not typically a very sensitive customer. I'm the kind of person that always says the food is great when the server asks at restaurants even if I don't love it.

I immediately called back and cancelled my order. I'm not going to support a business that treats its customers like that.
