Beware of the scammers

"I submitted an order. I received no response for over a month so I contacted them. They had the audacity to tell me that 1/3 of my order was not included in the box when I had personally double checked each and every book in the box. I still haven't received any money from them. AVOID."

Trade-in Disaster

"I submitted a trade-in order (2 separate orders across 3 different boxes/packages). Originally, I received an email stating that 1/2 of the large order was missing. I replied letting them know it was in another box (they provided both labels). After the other box arrived, they told me that one of the items was still missing. I responded and told them that it was wrapped in the packing materials, but that I know for a fact it was in the box. The entire purpose of creating the two separate orders was because they do not allow 2 of the same item in one order. I had 2 Dualshock 4 (PS4) controllers to trade in, thus I created two separate orders. The company basically called me a liar and stole/misplaced one of the controllers that was in the box that I traded in. After several back and forth emails including me including all documents requested (proof of ownership, proof of shipment, and delivery confirmation of all 3 boxes), I was fed up and gave them a choice to pursue it further and make it right, or to pay me for the rest of the order that was in the same box and get negative reviews posted everywhere. Rather than support the customer, they chose the pay out and negative reviews option. Hope it was worth the $7."

Buying Direct - HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT

"I've had some negative experiences in regards to Decluttr's lack of communication on eBay, but I thought buying direct would be a different story. Wrong. Not only is communication still a nightmare, they got my order wrong and refused to make it right. I just wanted the item I paid for and ended up forced into a full return. Will not be using this service ever again."

AVOID DECLUTTR AT ALL COSTS!!!

"I hate writing these types of reviews, but I feel this is the only thing to be done at this point.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!!!!!

I placed two sale orders that had four items total (3 devices on one, 1 device on the other). I put all four devices in one shipping box and also printed and included both order numbers in the package. When the shipment was received, one order number listed the number of devices received as four instead of three and the other order was listed as "AWAITING YOUR ORDER..." About a day or so later, the number of items for the "received" order updated to three and the other order was still listed as "AWAITING YOUR ORDER...". After chatting and emailing with multiple representatives, providing the IMEI for the fourth device that was associated with the "missing" order, I was told that they never received the fourth device and they would not be able to do anything.

This is incredibly unprofessional and is evident that they essentially stole the device that I turned by not paying out the sell amount. I even requested they return the device to me, but they keep insisting that they never received it.

I was paid out for the other three devices that were on the "received" order, but they are refusing to pay me the $760 that is owed to me.

There are other services out there that are SO MUCH BETTER than Decluttr. I recommend BuyBackBoss.com or even the kiosk that's available in some Wal-Mart locations. At least you'll get some type of payment instead of them simply taking your devices and reselling them without paying.

Liars and Thieves

"Why oh why didn't I come here first? I sent them about 100 CDs and a list, they sent me an email saying "Some of the CDs were not in the package." Outright lie! Should have taken a picture of the CDs IN the package. They don't relent, and eventually you have to take the paltry amount of money they decide to send you."

Absolute Scam. Decluttr is a Fraud

"So glad your experience went well! Mine has been a total wreck from the date UPS confirmed delivery. It took 3-4 days for them to say they received it after that.

Then, things got worse. The items were promptly looked at and I got a revised offer the next day. I approved within minutes of getting the notification. Then began the waiting.

Now, I’m in some limbo that leaves my entire order in “you approved your offer” status in the app, which is slow and displays different info than their website.

The website indicates my items are “processing” with no other information. Of course, I gave them a chance and contacted support. Big mistake.

The first three times I attempted to use the chat feature on their website, I learned it was a useless bot until it determined you were worth”escalating”to a human. To even get to that point, I had to do an order inquiry with the bot which only offered foreign shipping options as help topics. At this point it’s just sketchy.

Then, I waited (1st in line from the moment it opened). The first three attempts ended in frustration after waiting around an hour for anyone to respond on their end. In a chat feature.

Having started this screaming into the void experience 13 days ago, I attempted to get one single living being on chat (no phone number to contact anywhere and slow to no email response). She first implies I’d never actually shipped the items and demanded my proof of shipping receipt, something I was never offered by my shipper nor told to get. Before I could draft a response I received another message demanding the serial number of the old MacBook in the order. You know, the one engraved on the device which they’ve had for at least a week now?

That experience ended when I asked how I should provide this serial number and the person interrogating me on behalf of Decluttr opted to disconnect. I’m beginning to think trusting this company was a $1,000 mistake.

tldr; company has been sketchy at best. Beginning to feel like a scam. Support not even knowing my country was one major hint. Half a month without any answers from customer service was another.

Saying they **** is an understatement

"If I could give 0 stars I would. I'm beyond disappointed with this service and should've read reviews for it before hand. I came to this site after being referred by multiple articles, etc. I was trying to sell my old Xbox along with an EXTRA controller and games. I packed up everything into 2 separate boxes which they said was fine then sent it on its way. Immediately I got hit with the "xbox is missing controller" thus decreasing my Xbox value by $30. I reached out, got hit with the worst customer service ever and told to accept their "revised" prices and they'd send an additional for the missing item. I then did that, that's when I thought I was getting shorted and scammed like similar people have said in their reviews. I continued going back and forth with them stating how could they have missed a controller when they literally gave me credit for the games that were in the same box I sent. Now here's the fun part, after reaching out probably 5 additional times they admitted there was another controller and would send me my missing payment. They sent me $9 for the missing controller. Which is the price when selling a controller. Instead of correcting the whole issue in the first place and valuing my Xbox correctly. This **** me right off cause how are you gonna admit to shorting me and then create another problem and having the audacity to pay me for the additional controller rather than paying me the correct value of my Xbox with said controller. I of course wanted to swear horrible things on these people at this point so I reached out 3 more times and had to go as far as threatening to go to the BBB if it wasn't resolved. Finally after fighting for 2 weeks I got my missing money. So happy ending to a really annoying story. Seriously don't bother with these people. Their customer service might as well be illeterate unpaid highschool interns along with a warehouse full of blind workers"

If I could rate 0 stars, I would

"If you want to waste your time, this is the company for you. I sent an iPad, Apple Smart Keyboard, and a 1st gen Apple pencil because they offered me the best price for these items. All three of these items were like new because I barely used them. If I knew the trouble I would have to go through just to get payed, I would’ve just kept these items.
After I sent them my package, I was told by UPS that it was delivered to Decluttr. 2 days later, my account said that they were still waiting for my package. I emailed customer service (there’s no phone number) asking about what going on. Conveniently, after they responded, my package magically arrived and was ready for a quality check. Then 4 days go by (business days) and I haven’t received any updates about my order. I emailed them again and they had the audacity to say that 2 items were missing from my order (keyboard and pencil) which is why it was taking them so long to check my order. This was completely false as I sent all three items in the same package (placed in a white bubble wrap bag that I put inside a box that I got at UPS). I emailed them again saying that this was false and magically they found my items and starting to FINALLY process my order. Then about 2 hours later they sent me an email saying that the apple pencil had damage, so they had to knock down the price that they originally quoted me. I was frustrated with this whole process and I didn’t want to fight them anymore, so I just accepted the offer that they gave me just so I could get paid. Never do business with this company, unless you want to waste your time and sanity.

Thieves and scammers, so far as I can tell.

"Genuinely the worst company I've ever dealt with.

As other people have mentioned, they've done their best to rip me off. After offering one price for my unlocked and in good condition iPhone, they lowered their offer by about $100 after receiving it, even though their website literally says it is in the condition I said and is indeed unlocked. I've even provided them with documentation that it is indeed unlocked and matches the description I gave.

I've tried for three days to contact customer service, waiting for hours each time to chat with someone. The second time I tried I was waiting for hours before finding out (not from them) they had closed for the day while I was waiting, and didn't notify me.

I've also tried to email them on more than one occasion, with no response.

Edit: Oh and I'm waiting to chat with someone right now, and I magically went from being number 6 in line to being number 7. Best. Customer service. Ever.

Edit 2: again I was kept waiting until they closed for business, and was never given a notification of this so I kept waiting for another half hour until I realized.

This company is 100% crooked, DO NOT SEND THEM ANYTHING. At this point I'm genuinely considering legal action.

Don't Do It

"I ordered an iPhone and expected delivery within the week. When it didn't arrive, I followed up and was told I would have to wait two full weeks for delivery. When it still didn't show up, I was told I would have to wait another two weeks for 'investigation'. When that time elapsed, I was told a refund would be coming. After another two weeks, I was told they were busy and they would refund me when they caught up. It took almost two months to get back over $400. Their only method of 'communication' is by email. They blamed all the issues on DHL delivery."

"They just took my stuff and NEVER paid me. Its been months of reaching put and trying to resolve the issue and they wont give me my money or my items. They also lost items from the package I sent them in the first place. Absolutely do NOT use them. Easier to sell with Vinted, Pangobooks, ebay, etc. Their service team did not care at all about me and the company stole all of the items I sent them and never sent any compensation, also they assure me they did."

They stated that they received an empty parcel and have since relinquished all responsibility therefore refusing to open a case with the UPS to find out why my package arrived empty to their facility. Do not do business with this company

"I’ve sold phones and tablets via other sites and sold them myself via eBay and never had the issue that I did with this company.
I double-checked their website, and as of today 4/11/22 they still state on their own site that they accept carrier locked devices, they just give more if it is unlocked.
Keeping this in mind, I sold them 2 carrier locked phones a month ago. Both in flawless condition. Then I get a message from them stating my devices were “blocked / barred”, and that per their T+C they were keeping the devices to “properly dispose of them”. Basically, my opinion was that they were attempting to steal my devices. I replied that I kept the IMEI on file of the devices and that I would report them stolen if I did not get them back, to which they replied “They are still locked to AT&T, do you want them back?” (I know they were locked…I told you that when I sold them to you.) Finally got the devices back after threats of legal action. This is a scam company, they will steal from you if they can. Do not send them anything if you want to actually get paid.

TERRIBLE!

"Sold a MacBook pro, received a fair offer; after 42 days now still have not received any payment, and if you try to contact customer service (via chat); I am told there is a backup in processing and things have been escalated (told that 3 times); and then get repeated emails about needing to update my bank account information (also now 3 times); have asked to get my product returned to me or be sent a physical check with no response. I suspect that I am probably out the money and my MacBook. Never do business with this company as their are much better options out there."
