"In reference to Request # 1544828 regarding order # 890654: In my opinion, Decluttr practiced “Bait and Switch”, unreasonably retained some of my property, and provided poor customer service. I checked a number of similar websites in my efforts to resell my two iPhones. Decluttr had the highest online offers by far for my iPhone SE and 7; thus the “Bait” part of the transaction. The “Switch” part came with the ridiculously low revised offers (less than 20% of the online offers) for the two phones; both phones less than 3 years old and in pristine condition having never been without the protection of quality cases and screen protectors. On the SE Decluttr reported an issue with the screen border - “Green frame around LCD more than 1cm” - and on the 7 – “Microphone inoperative.” I declined both revised low-ball offers, and upon receiving the phones back from Decluttr I took them to my cell phone carrier and asked for a second opinion. The technician, a former Apple employee who evaluated iPhones for trade in, found neither of the reported problems to be true, and she immediately offered to purchase both phones at nearly three times Decluttr’s revised offers (I accepted, of course). This despite Decluttr’s statement that, “We pay up to 33% more than carrier buyback programs.” When I sent the two iPhones to Decluttr I included the two protective cases, the original boxes and instructions, as a courtesy. I thought I would have no further need for them, and I noted on the other sites that these items added value to the phones. When Decluttr sent the two phones back they included neither case, and the original box for only the SE and not the 7. Decluttr stated that, under their Terms & Conditions regarding items other than the phones themselves, “SUCH ITEMS CANNOT BE RETURNED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES AND WILL BE DISPOSED OF BY DECLUTTR.” This Condition conflicts with their Tech Price Promise – “Get the first price we offer or your items back for free.” Decluttr had violated their own Terms & Conditions by returning the SE box instead of disposing of it. If Decluttr was able to return the SE box, why could they not also return my other property – the two cases and the 7 box – all of which had value to other buyers. I wonder if the other items were kept to increase the value of other phones they had received. I gave Decluttr four separate opportunities to return my property and make this right, which they did not. One of their replies was clearly a “canned” response triggered by key words in my email. All of this, to me, is poor customer service. I would not recommend Decluttr to anyone."

"My son lost his phone so I did some research to find a used replacement and found Decluttr. Most of the reviews seem positive so I placed an order. I ordered it on a Monday night. Tuesday I received my dispatch confirmation and tracking number. On Thursday I tried to track my order but the number didn't work. So I chatted with Decluttr on their website, because they don't have an option to call them or be called. The guy I chatted with was very nice and he said it'll be there by Monday at the latest (FYI, their site says Free Shipping with 2-4 business days). Monday comes, no delivery (another FYI, they use DHL for shipping, the worse logistic company in the world). So today, Tuesday, a week later, I use Twitter messege to get assistance this time. And I'm told "the item it still en route to the DHL distributing center still. I would suggest keeping an eye on this tracking and if there is no update by the end of the week we can investigate this further". WTH! So I try the chat option again on the Decluttr website. Now I'm told, "We have to allow up to 10 working days for it to arrive". Then I say I want to cancel my order, she says "since my order has been dispatched we can't cancel the order". I tracked the order on DHL website. It says they picked it up last Tuesday and it en route to their distribution center. Today is Tuesday and I have no idea when the phone I ordered and paid over $300 for a week ago will get to me.
This is a terrible retail company. Do not give them your business. They are liars and their customer service is unhelpful"

"Ohh, this is a complete scam. They give a good offer and than after receiving the item claim that’s something is wrong with it and send revised offer by 80% lower from the original.
After I declined their revised offer they held my item for almost three weeks before sending it back.
