"I've read a number of negative reviews about Decluttr online, and that gave me pause when considering them to get rid of old books, movies, and CDs in my home. I went ahead and tried the service and overall, I'm quite pleased so far. No, you won't get a lot of money for many items, but I wasn't earning anything from having it sit in my basement, and used media shops won't take music CDs anymore; the demand is that low.
Overall, the process was very smooth. I filled a box with items as I scanned their barcodes with my phone. I printed the label and packing list, taped it up, and brought it to the UPS store. Within a week, the money was deposited into my account. I am a little disappointed with the value assigned to some of the items but again, this isn't about making money. This got a bunch of junk out of my house, which makes the wife happy! After the first experience, I have filled 2 other boxes, and am working on a third.
My only other gripe has to do with the mobile app itself. It could use a revamp, as it's interface is clunky, and appears to be designed for older, lower-resoution iOS devices. Overall, though, this is a valuable service that fills an interesting niche. "
