I admit to having been spoiled by the wonderful care that Amazon takes in securing products for delivery. Unfortunately, not so much with the “carport in a box” I ordered through Ecanopy.com. One end of the box was wide open and the other end was held together with a bunch of tape (gave the impression the box had been opened and then resealed). My first concern was that parts may have slipped out through the wide opening. The next issue was that there were no instructions/manual so I was unable to conduct an initial inventory of parts. Thankfully, I found instructions/manual through a Home Depot web site and was ecstatic to find out all the parts were there. My last issue (and this one really hurts) is the rust visible on most of the poles. Not just light surface rust but down through the paint and primer and to the metal. Now I am going to have to apply wax to my carport in addition to my car to preserve both from rust.
It really bothers me that companies simply don’t take pride in their products anymore yet everyone seems to ask for feedback. As I was carefully erecting the carport I could not take my eyes off of the rust on the poles. There should have been a joyous finish to this project, instead it looks as if I purchased the carport used.
