"The email ad stated "free delivery if your order is over $50.00 and under 12 pounds.
So I take about 90 minutes picking out things I need plus the main thing I was on the site to get.
When I get to check out, $27.00 is added to my order for shipping.
So I go to chat and talk to a woman for about 15 minutes explaining that I was charged for shipping and my order was well over $50.00 and should not weigh more that 12 pounds. So she says, get me all the SKU numbers for my order. I go to the screen to get the numbers and her window has disappeared.
Now, I get another person from chat and I have to explain the whole thing again. The guy seems like a real smart ass and makes me wait at least 10 minutes between contacts. So I get the numbers and I am ready to give them to him and he is not responding. After 30 minutes I give up and leave my screen up and go to bed.
The next morning I see that he finally responded after about 35 minutes.
I would like to add, that up until this experience, I had been a loyal customer of eCost for at least 10 years. I don't buy big quantities from them because I deal with wholesalers like Evertek and others, that give large discounts, but I have to order large quantities.
eCost usually has some very cool items that I can't find anywhere else and their prices are not wholesale but they are pretty good. I like to personally test any of the products that go into our installations of integrated automation systems for tall buildings and large facilities.
From now on, I will find somewhere else to get the kinds of things I had traditionally bought from eCost, even if it cost more.
I would also suggest they fire the smart ass guy on the chat line, or they will lose more customers like me.
