Dishonest Merchant

"In late 2016, I used Affirm credit to order a table and chairs through eFurniture Mart. The merchandise, made by East West, was poor quality, and I returned it, using the bill of lading that the merchant sent. It took a few days for someone from the shipper Estes to stop by to get the furniture. The merchant, eFurniture Mart, did not credit my account a single dime AND allowed the account to be reported to the credit bureau. I have disputed this twice with Experian, but Affirm won't clear my credit score unless eFurniture Mart allows it. The merchant, eFurniture Mart, does not care, of course. I'm sure that eFurniture Mart is enjoying having the merchandise back to sell again while my credit suffers. The merchant was so rude when I called to voice my concerns. This is the only negative item on my credit report. I usually don't give anyone bad credit ratings online because I don't like anonymous criticism. This story needs to be told, however. V. Deceitful

"I ordered two pieces of furniture for $1494.30 in July 2016. Kept a copy of the order invoice. Site said product would be available in Sept. 2016. I contacted the company in Sept. and was told it would be delayed until December 2016. Contacted them in Dec. and was told some time in January or waiting to hear from manufacturer any time now. The site said Jan. 2017. I contacted them in Jan 2017 and the response was they were waiting to hear from the manufacturer. In Sept. I was actually able to speak to someone on the phone. All contact thereafter was via email. Phone is never answered and must leave a voicemail. They respond to voicemails via email. Long story short, I received a call from William (CSR) on Jan. 16 at 5:42 p.m. EST) who said he was instructed to call me and tell me that they have decided they have had too many returns on this product and the manufacturer would not take them back so they were stuck with the furniture returns. Because of this they have decided not to carry this product (Stein World Lawrence Credenza Robin's Egg Blue)and they cancelled my order from July 2016. I have spent 6 months waiting for furniture that they apparently never intended to sell to me at the discounted price. As of today the product is on their website as Available - In Stock for $879,00 and the product code SAVE15 will not apply. Order total would be $1758.00 (the original price before I got my discount back in July 2016). The message for applying the coupon code says "The cart does not contain products to which the coupon can be applied." Interesting that it applied when I ordered in July 2016 and now it won't. Bottom line they did not honor my pricing on my order from July 2016, then THEY cancelled my order so if I want it I have to pay a higher price which matches many other furniture companies on the Internet. I asked the reason they were not going to carry this product any longer and William said it was "color" issues for the returns. He said it was not as represented on the pictures yet they are carrying it on their website today (Stein World Lawrenceville Credenza Robin's Egg Blue). I asked William for the manager's name and William said his name was Michael and gave me Michael's email address. I emailed Michael two messages last night after the call from William and received no response as of today. Reported to BBB. "

A month later and no table and no call back!

"Same as everyone below, this company cannot handle its customer service and should not be allowed to be in business. I have left a dozen calls and emails regarding my large purchase that was not shipped and have received no response. I am very scared that they took my money and will not contact me. I don't understand why they are allowed to be in business. "

William for worst CSR

"I'd give zero stars if I could. I ultimately canceled my order after dealing with William. According to him, they are "a very small business" and William is the "only employee". Which is the reason they don't return calls, don't answer phones, and apparently think it's a good idea to try to talk crap to an unhappy customer. Super sad. Now I'll pay $100 more for the same item somewhere else. "

False Advertising, Bait & Switch

"Twice I attempted to buy a nightstand (great price!) with free shipping, twice the web site allowed me to order it and confirmed the order, and twice, a day later, the order was canceled with no explanation. The second time the response mail encouraged me to contact them to find another product. No, I want the product I ordered, you said was in stock, and you chose to give me free shipping - sorry if you didn't realize that shipping from Fl to Wash might eat into your profit margins.

Attempting to contact customer service was a voice-navigated call tree hell, resulting in a "leave a voice mail" option only.

How to Deal with eFurnituremart.com

"1. Don't
2. If you must, be prepared for the worst possible service. Carefully read and know their policies, you will need to enforce them.
3. Write "not inspected" on the receipt when you sign for any shipment.
4. When you have a problem with your shipment--and you will--you must be persistent.
5. State exactly what resolution you want to happen, and do not back down.
6. When they say they will call you back with the resolution, they will not. You must call them.
7. When they lie to you--and they will--call them on it firmly, but be respectful. This will get you further.

I ordered a china cabinet on March 8, paying for white glove delivery. It arrived on March 28. There was some back and forth about whether white glove was available in my area, I said I was fine with an inside drop off, and to refund the $99. The refund did not come. When the package was delivered, there was no way the one guy who came would be able to carry it up the stairs to my house. He dropped it on the curb, I had to call and insist the full $199 be refunded for delivery, as curbside delivery is advertised as free. There was no damage to the packaging, so I signed for it. I did not open and inspect the 300 lb. piece of furniture on my driveway while the delivery person was waiting, obviously.

When my husband opened the package that night to assemble and install it, the top of the china cabinet was split and damaged. I immediately filed a claim and sent pictures according to their posted website policies. They called me Monday and assured me it would be resolved, and asked me to send pictures. I sent them again. I waited a week and heard nothing. I called them the next Monday. I received a second email asking for pictures. I sent them again, then called again. I was told they couldn't do anything because I signed the shipping receipt and checked the "no damage" box. I told them there was no damage to the box, and that actually, I did not check any box. They assumed the delivery person did. I insisted I paid for a piece of intact furniture, and as a single human, cannot open and inspect 300 lb. furniture on my own. I was told they would contact the manufacturers for a resolution. I didn't hear from them for another week. When I did reach them, they tried to get me to agree to have a "furniture medic" repair the damage. I insisted I wanted a new piece of furniture. He told me the item was backordered and a ship date was unknown. I agreed to this, as I didn't want to wait for months or more, and he said he would get back to me with repair options. Again, I waited a week or more, hearing nothing. When I called, and left a voicemail (as always) my call was returned the next day. I was told there were no medics in my area and I would have to wait for an unknown amount of time for the new shipment. I did my own research on medics over the next week. They assured me there were several qualified in my area, that I should not accept a new hutch top without base as the dye lots may not match, that they could definitely repair it, and I would be hard-pressed to see the damage. I received 5 or more estimates for repair. I contacted efurnituremart again insisting I get a credit in the amount it would cost to fix at the place of my choosing. I was told I would receive the credit in the amount I requested on April 22. It showed up on my statement about 5 days later. This makes a total of about 4 weeks of back and forth to get the problem solved. The furniture was fixed by an amazing woodworker, and the damage is not detectable.

The person that dealt with my claim was named William. He was the only person I ever communicated with. At one point, I asked for his boss or manager or someone that had the authority to approve the compensation I wanted. I was told by William, "I'm it!" He flat out lied several times, even from the very beginning in dealing with the White Glove Delivery. He told me it was not available in my area, and that they would refund my money. Then when I asked for a refund because the delivery person could not bring it inside, he told me, "I told you to call me and I would have someone come bring it in and assemble it." We had no such discussion. He lied about several other things, among them being the fact that they couldn't do anything about the damage because I had signed for it, then in our next conversation the following day claiming "of course we are going to fix this, there's no question about it." It was a different story every time we spoke, and completely infuriating.

eFurnitureMart.com will try to wear you down in hopes you will drop the issue and take the loss. Insist on what you want if you must deal with this furniture company. Personally, I will pay the couple of hundred extra dollars next time to get the furniture from a company with integrity. My time is worth more than I saved.

They are liars and crooks!

"My experience with this company is the same as many others here. I placed an order for a sofa online expecting to be able to upgrade the shipping to in-home delivery as their website advertises. Seeing no option to do the upgrade when I checked out I e-mailed the next day to inquire and was told that the manufacturer would not upgrade the shipping. I told them then to cancel the order. They, conveniently, have no record of that e-mail. They shipped the sofa. I called them to tell them that it had been cancelled. The rep. said that they keep meticulous e-mail records and had no received no such e-mail. I sent him copies of the e-mails, and he said that I didn't say anywhere in the e-mail thread to cancel the order. This was a bold-faced lie. Rather than pay their ridiculous restocking fee and the shipping charges, I decided to accept shipment. They do use a cheap shipping company with a poor reputation. The company's driver actually abandoned the shipment somewhere along the way. In talking with the shipping company today, they told me that arrangements could be made to deliver the sofa into my home but it would take another two weeks to do so. Had e-furniture mart made these arrangements in the first place it would have been done. Also, take a close look at their website. It's full of typos and poor grammar. Had I noticed this at first I never would have purchased from them. I never will again and I strongly recommend that everyone stay away from them. Their customer service reps. are rude, crass, and apparently are told to lie. "

"A good judge of a company is how well they handle a problem. eFurnitureMart receives high grades from me.
I ordered a lamp they were offering at an exceptional price and, unfortunately, received the wrong color from the manufacturer. I called and spoke to William who asked me to email a photo of the lamp I received in error. Once that was done, they contacted the manufacturer who sent me the correct lamp. The whole process took less then a week. I was very pleased with their communication also. Every email I sent was responded to quickly.
I would feel very comfortable ordering from them in the future.

"1st time buying at efurnituremart. I previously worked at Rooms To Go. My friend recommended I buy from them because of price. They did have great prices but the service was great. I made a mistake on my order (my fault) and they fix my error no problem and were very polite. No attitude just happy to make me happy. I was a former Rooms To Go employee and treated my customers like gold and I felt efurnitureMart treated me the same way. Delivery no issue."

"I've never ordered any furniture online, and hadn't heard about this company since I found them online. My wife and I were very happy, we received the table really quickly, it was in great shape...not a single ding or scratch on it. The table is easy to assemble and it looks really great in our dining room! We are excited that we decided to order this online!!!"

"I would never recommend this store to anyone. First of all, they use cheap shipping company to deliver your material. They always delay the delivery and then the delivery company wouldn't deliver at your door. They said, they can only deliver to curb. This is ridiculous. I have never seen delivery like this.

Who in the world delivers the furniture only to curb. Delivery was delayed by 5 days and they never informed me about it. I had to follow-up for the same. I hate this store.

"Worst experience EVER , ordered a desk , was stated to be shipped on 21 on their website, i call them the 24 . then the guy said that they asked the shipping company to go to pickup the desk to the supplier but apparently the shipping company changed so that s the reason and they will call me back , which they NEVER so i called again , and on the website it changed to 26-27 for delivery .. so i called again and again .. find the same guy on the phone . saying ok let me check i ll call you back .... he didn't .. at the end i received a phonecall at 10pm from the Shipping company on 27 night , saying he will come on 28th morning . SO 28th morning it is , desk coming , i payed extra for installation , Well so you got 2 guys arriving with the " hey DUDE " and taking the car key to open the boxes ! breaking the boxes to open them , put all the plastic all around the flat , well AWFULL EXPERIENCE . PLEASE DON'T BUY THERE . let them close .. i m on the internet ecommerce business also ... seriously it is because of people like this that people are scared of buying online sometime !

"Absolutely terrible. I ordered a coffee table. After a week goes by and it still hasn't shipped. I called them and they told me the coffee table is no longer in stock by the manufacturer. I then called the manufacturer directly and they told me it was in stock and that efurnituremart is lying to me. So I called efurnituremart again and they finally admitted the coffee table is indeed in stock and that they lied to me because they just didn't feel like selling it. Then they tell me to go buy the table elsewhere. Seriously? What the hell."

"Yes. the shipment was delivered promptly. However, the piece of furniture that I purchased has not lived up. Poor quality. All 4 edges had wear and split within 3 months, and with very little use. (we had 8 month old twins at the time, and mostly used it to keep them out of a corner). I had contacted eFurnitureMart about this and was give a $30 refund. Its not even 1 year old and some of the seams have split open as well. This piece of furniture is of poor quality and I would not recommend it to anyone. "
