"Turbobuys didn't response me, no email, no call, they owe me $378 for video camera after returning. Can someone tell me what can I do for taking my money back, who can help me, how can company like this make business and cheat people. Thank you."
"I had a gut feeling about this site and should have went with it. What first tipped me off was that they had spelling errors on the site, I just figured that it was just a mistake that anyone could have made. But I was wrong. I placed an order for a camera and was waiting for it to arrive...days went by and I didn't received anything. Later on, I got an email from them saying that I didn't finish a transaction when they even gave me a confirmation of my purchase already. They said to call in to discuss it but no one answered. According to them, the office was closed for the holiday for the week of October 17th. Ok, what holiday is during October 17th-26th (also the recording was very unprofessional)? Next, I decided to email them, of course there was no response. But here is the WORST PART....I got an email from Amazon.com (which I haven't even purchased from in 2 years) stating that my bank has been contacting them because of suspicious charges. I'm guessing someone that got a hold of my information from Turbobuys used it. So, I call my bank to cancel my cards and now I'm left with the possibility of identity theft. After that I decided to search on the internet about fraud and found out that there were lots of cases like mine where credit card numbers were stolen and used in a fraud rings. So beware of where you make your purchases. I consider myself a intelligent person but was conned by Turbobuys. I guess it was just that I trusted a company that states, "Shopping at TurboBuys.com is safe and easy. We want you to know that every online transaction you make at TurboBuys.com will be 100% safe." Please be careful where you buy from!"
"WARNING - DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. I placed an order for a camera on Aug 4, 2005 and today is Oct 13th and I still have not got my money back. The day after I placed an order, a rep called back telling to call back right away cause he needed more info, when I did he said he had to verify the zip code and then reluctantly he convinced me to buy a hi-capacity battery - which was the only reason I had to call back. On Aug 8th the money was taken out of account. On August 16th I called cause I had not recd my camera they said it was mailed on the 15th. On the 18th I emailed saying no camera - no response. I called on Aug 24th and they said there was a problem with the camera and I should recieve by that Friday. I also emailed on the 24th. I finally recieve the camera and they sent me the wrong camera and no hi capicity battery. I called and they said errors happen and sent me a return label which I recieved a week later, I returned the camera they recieved the camera back on 9-13-05 and I have yet to get my money back. Note: I called the company many times and always got voice mail, after I found out the rep extension number (ext 100), I called that number and it always went to voice mail and then I thought what the heck I'll try another extensions - I tried extensions 100 - 113 and voice mail on all of them. The other thing is the company I purchased from is Turbobuys, the company that showed on my account was www.getyourdigitalhere.com and when I finally got an email response to tell me they don't have that camera it came back from "Flyintheskyphoto". When you look at all three of these companies, the phone numbers are one or two numbers off on the end of the number. I am seriously warning all out there do not buy from these companies - Turbobuys, getyourdigtal here, and flyintheskyphoto and who knows how many other companies they are operating under. "
"Here's the complaint I filed with the DOJ, BBB, and my credit card company:
I purchased a Sony DCR-DVD301 camcorder from
Turbobuys for $486. I was contacted via email and told to call their fulfillment departmen allegedly because of a problem with my information. On the call I purchased a case for the camera for $50, a warranty for $150, and an "upgrade" toa high capacity battery for $195.
The warranty I received, which was through a third party, in no way resembled the one described to me over the phone. The "upgraded battery" turned out to be the bottom of the line battery that is available elsewhere for about $20.
The invoice I received lumped all the items together with the camera costing $946.93 and all the other items at $0.00, as if I had purchased it all as a package when this was absolutely not how the transaction was stuctured until after the fact by them. I have an email receipt for the camera showing $486.
The company is claiming they do not match competitors prices and that I should have comparison shopped. That is impossible to do when you thing you are buying one thing and you get another. If I had known the actual battery and actual warranty I'd be receiving, I would not have purchsed them in the first place.
The company will take back everything I bought less a %7 restocking fee. I want to keep the camera and the case. Their response to this is that they will charge me $200 more for the camera since I purchased all this as a package (again, I didn't). This is bait and switch, pure and simple."
"Unbelievably bad experience buying a digital camera. Three phone calls with a rude sales person and the wrong model showed up a week after it was promised to arrive. They also shipped the filters that I had stupidly agreed to initially but had immediately called back and cancelled after placing my order. When I called to return and get credited for the filters, they said they would credit my card for the purhcase price but I would need to pay to ship the item back even though it was their fault. Avoid buying from this commpany. I'm assuming they changed their name to TurboBuys to cover up the tracks of a set of bad reviews like this one."
"Absolute scam. My husband ordered a camera from www.flyintheskyphoto.com around 2 pm today. About 2 hours later (while he's at work) I get a phone call that my husband needs to call "Jordan" at ***-***-**** x 102 because our credit card company called flyintheskyphoto and asked flyintheskyphoto to call us. B.S. and then the call ended.
So I call him back and ask him what the issue is again and he tells me my husband has to call.
Sorry, I own a business and credit card companies call the card holder directly. So of course I called our Master Card company to confirm this line of B.S. and they had no notation of ever calling flyintheskyphoto. I then stumbled across this site and read the reivews. - In the mean time my husband tries to call the number from work.
He gets disconnected 2 times and then gets through...but it's to turbobuy - (who apparently share the same number) - and the conversation was jarbled, but he thinks the guy on the other line asked him if he wanted to buy some sex.com membership and then the line made funny noises so my husband hung up.
I in the meantime called back Mastercard and told them what I found out online and asked if the charge came through. They said no, and that the company will probably try to run all their charges at the end of the night. So I asked what my options were?
1. cancel my card immediatly
2. don't cancel the card, try to cancel the order and wait and see.
We opted for option 1. So we've cancelled the card.

"Total bait and switch scam. They will call you up and lie to you like crazy, offering special filters that "Increase your megapixels" and a warantee that is supposedly from the manufacturer but in reality is from an operation known as "Mack's." I wasted a week without a camera that was supposed to be shipped next day air. I was assured the order had shipped the same day, the following day I heard that the order was going to ship the next day, and later the same day I heard that the order had shipped "this morning." In the end, the order was refunded without any notice or explanation from TurboBuys. I am glad they did though, I was able to order from a *reputable* online reseller and should receive it tomorrow. "
"I ordered a Canon Powershot Sd500 almost three months ago.
I was called to buy warranty and additional accessories. After I declined, I received a notice that the camera was "back ordered". Have not heard from them since. "
"Awful. Simply Awful. Proof that just having a functional website doesn't make you a decent company. The second-worst internet buying experience I've ever had (and you don't want to hear about the first). But perhaps I should start at the beginning...
After researching a number of cameras suitable for ourdoor use from a moving platform in a desert environment (three guesses where that is), I selected the Canon Powershot S1. Decent zoom, image stabilization, and (potentially) cheap enough it could absorb shrapnel and I wouldn't cry too long. After looking at a lot of prices online (to meet the "cheap-enough" requirement) I elected to order from TurboBuys, purely on cost. I wish I'd checked the reviews...
Soon after my order (2 days or do), I got an e-mail requesting me to call customer service. I did so, only to have a salesman (Mike) try to sell me a variety of accessories for inflated prices. I declined. Repeatedly. The next day, I got an e-mail stating that the order was changed "Due to a unexpected oversold status on the product that you have ordered." The e-mail stated that it would ship in 10-12 days. 14 days later I called customer service (no answer), e-mailed them (no reply), and cancelled the order out of pure frustration. I then ordered from Beach Camera - a five day experience (including a weekend) with no hassle and only slightly more money. Paying another 12 bucks to get a product that actually existed was a good exchange, I think.
Oh yeah - the Turbobuys website showed "in stock" for the camera throughout the entire process.
Avoid these guys."
"I have called every couple of weeks since placing a digital camera order TWO MONTHS AGO. They said it was in stock when I placed the order but then sent "backorder" notices. The name was IBuyDig at the time. They now call themselves TurboBuys. Customer service still has no idea when they will send the camera. I wonder if they will ever send it and am looking for other customer comments. They have not taken money from me yet, so this is not a money issue."
"DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
I placed an online order to FlyInTheSkyPhoto, after initially trying to place an order on the phone (my own fault).
When I first called, the highly unprofessional person I spoke with hung up on me when I responded that I did not want any extras with the digital camera. I called back, same thing. I called back a third time, and talked to someone else, who I complained to about getting hung up on. He was apologetic, so I gave them a chance. I said I would like to order a camera, and he began the hard sell on extras as well. I explained I was not interested, and then he said he'd process the order, and to hold on one moment. I was placed on indefinite hold. After 20 minutes, I hung up and decided to just try the website (again, I'm not sure why... maybe just the price).
I placed the order online, and got an email the next day to "call regarding the status." I called, and another unprofessional person said "Everything's fine" and hung up. Literally... that's all they said. I called again to cancel the order on the phone, and was again asked what else I wanted with the camera... after I explained I was CANCELLING the order due to their unprofessionalism and poor customer support. I was given a cancellation ID that seemed made up...
I'll be following up with VISA to verify the charge does not go through, then I'll gladly pay more for the camera at a place that is reputable and has good customer service.
Avoid at all costs. I kick myself for ever placing an order in the the first place.
"
"bad, bad, bad. stay away from these people. Liars and cheats. they will give you every line of crap they can come up with, you will cancel your order before you get it. Pay attention to your credit card, I cancelled an order and my online account still shows pending. If you don't buy all the inflated acceccories and an extended warranty, your item wil be "back ordered" even though items show in stock. They are trying to rip you off and if you don't let them you will be "back ordered". DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Go to a reputable dealer or use EBAY. Gopt exact items on EBAY, key word here being GOT."
"I ordered a camera from this store on March 1, 2005. I received a confirmation of that order, and therefore thought the item was in stock and all was well. Two days later, I received an email telling me the item would be delayed 10-20 business days. After that time elap[sed and I had heard nothing, I called and was told it would be one more week. I called after a week and was told the item had arrived, and I would recieve it in two weeks. Two weeks later I called and was told it was out of stock. The item is stil listed as being for sale with no mention of it's availability. I was unable to get assistance, and was told to "take a chill pill" during my last call. Very unprofessional and unsatisfactory!"
"I wanted to order a Sony DSCT3, after the salesperson tried their best to sell me additional accessories i told him no I just wanted the camera, they hung up on me. I called back to complain and was put on hold but they never came back on the line. DO NOT BUY FROM THI COMPANY"
"Bait and switch. Showed the camera in stock when I ordered. Didn't have it. Wanted me to call one of their reps so that they could try to sell me additional equipment that I didn't want to offset their bogus price. Stay away or be ripped off!!!!!"
