"My family has been buying from Kinzie's Closet for 4 years now. We don't have a local pro-shop near us that sells figure skating stuff so we have to buy online. As a mom who skates and has two children that skate, you just can't ask for more. All of our stuff arrives in good condition and brand new. Their site caters to beginner/intermediate skaters and skate mom's. They really do a great job of explaining how to measure for skates and how each brand of skate fits. I like how they have spent time on the phone with me to help me fit my children regardless of how long it takes. One of my children is hard to fit and they have really tried to get her the best fit possible. I also like how they aren't brand biased or try to push a more expensive skate than what you need on you. Some coaches at our rink as well as other pro-shops we had contacted before had insisted we buy a particular brand, but that brand never fit our one child. We did have to return a couple of pair of skates until we found the right brand, but had no issues with the return process. We did have a couple of backorder issues, but they told us about it and gave us the opportunity to wait on it or substitute it for something else. We like them so much that we have told our skating club about them and most of the moms at our rink purchase from them too. It's hard to find a good figure skating store these days that actually specializes in figure skating and not hockey!"

"Avoid this online shop like the plague!!! I ordered a pair of ice skates on a Friday morning. Site says orders will ship 2-3 days if in stock. When I'm allowed to get through the checkout process, I assume they are in stock since every other purchase I have ever made online if an item was out of stock I was given the opportunity to cancel before submitting the order. On the following Tuesday I had not received confirmation of shipping I called to check the status and I was told they were shipping out on Wednesday. Wednesday I did not receive an email confirming shipping so I emailed them of my disappointment. Late Thursday morning I still had not received a confirmation nor had a received a response from the email, do I tried to call. I left a voicemail asking for a response again letting them know I was unhappy and considering contacting the BBB. Mid afternoon I had still not had a response and had tried calling several times to no avail so I left a heated message on their Facebook page. Finally a little later they emailed me saying the skates were on backorder and that they would not be shipped till the 13th of February. I was going to wait, but emailed her back letting her know how poor a business practice all this was to which she responded in a way to admit no responsibility at all in the wrong, even though she had flat out lied to me when she told me they were being shipped on the next day! "

"This is the most aweful place to purchase, it was just a huge headache! They took the money from my acct just for later say that they didnt have the item i ordered, then they "try to help" with a more expensive item! Its their fault, they should honnor sending the similar item and not charging it for more, do not buy from there! Tryed calling them, they dont pick up the phone, and so rude on the messages!"

"We ordered some skates and miscellaneous items for my daughter. The site itself was a wealth of information, helping a relatively (okay, greatly) uninformed dad with lots of relevant advice, instructions, and recommendations, which I really appreciated. So, I ordered the skates, and it turns out the pair of skates I ordered was on back order. However, I got an email within the same day of the order, telling me what options existed. I asked some pretty specific questions regarding the options, and all were promptly answered, and I ended up making the change to the recommended alternative. We received the shipping information via email, and any questions I had were answered in a timely fashion. The shipment arrived promptly. My daughter tried on her skates and because of the great literature on the site, we knew how they would take some time to break in, how they were supposed to fit (tight to the foot, rather than lots of space which would lead to blistering), and we also got the tights too, which I wouldn't have known about without reading the info. on the site. My daughter is ecstatic and ready to go, and if she's happy, her parents are happy. Thanks Jennifer!"

"I wanted to buy the simple bag for skates and knee protection pads. I got from Kinzies Closet - very big, simple, and "cheap" bag, even without handle;
and four sleeves (two packs) - knee protection pads without pads. The shipping was $17 and return police required 15% restocking fee plus I must pay shipping again. The "sleeves" are not returnable at all! They are still sealed in plastics. How protect knee without gel pads - I do not know. In result - I spent $60+ but did not get neither knee protection nor new bag for skates. People! Read everything carefull! Pay by credit card, you may get better return money. I should read the reviews before purchase anything from them.

"We have ordered everything from soakers, blade guards, skates, tights, competition dresses, warm-up gear -- you name it, we have ordered it! -- through Kinzie's Closet. We have always received every order on time and are always pleased with the quality of the products and the friendly, detail-oriented service provided. We have only ever had to exchange one pair of skates, but the process was simple and our daughter's skates were here before we knew it! From all of our interactions, we can honestly say that Kinzie's Closet goes out of their way to ensure that every customer finds what they are looking for. We love shopping here!"

"We ordered a blade and it was shipped within 3 days and we received the blade in less than 5 business days. The price they offered is the lowest in comparison.

Later we had to exchange the blade for a different size, they are very accomodating and the customer support is very friendly and take care of the matter promptly without delay.

"I ordered a figure skating dress through Kinzie's Closet and anxiously waited for my dress to arrive. I received an email from the owner telling me it was on back order, and was later provided with shipment information a week later. My dress was defective, as the manufacturer had sewn the leotard within the costume in backwards! I called Kinzie's immediately, in which the owner had me email photographs of the defective dress, she contacted the manufacturer and the very next day I received the same dress--manufactured properly. The defective dress was mailed back to the company, and Kinzie's Closet reimbursed my shipment costs. Thanks to the owner, my purchase was successful and was so happy to have received the beautiful dress--(even with it still being on back order)! The owner was fantastic; so helpful and reliable, I can't thank her enough for getting my dress to me before my show in 2 days! Would buy from Kinzie's Closet again in a heart beat!"

"I purchased my figure skates and miscellaneous figure skating items online from Kinziescloset. My items were shipped immedately and in excellent condition. I encoutered a manufacturer defect with one of my skates after a couple of months skating (Small tear in the seam of a tongue). I didn't want to part with this pair of skates since they were stretched perfectly, waterproofed and feeling great on my feet. I contacted Kinzie and they immediately addressed a 'seam tear' in the tongue with the manufacturer. I skated more than three hours yesterday and was so thrilled to have them on my feet. I appreciate finding a figure skating shoppe that immediately addressed my concerns. I appreciate Jennifer keeping me updated and even sent me the tracking # from skate manufacturer. Excellent customer service from Jennifer. I love, LOVE, LOVE my skates! Bravo, Kenzie, for making your customers #1.

"Shopping online at Kinzie's Closet was the most horrible experience I have ever encountered. The owner wants to sell skating merchandise but doesn't want to be bothered with returns or unhappy customers. Buyers beware when shopping there...they have a very expensive return policy and refuse to give cash credit. I'm very lucky to have a great credit card company that wouldn't tolerate such practices as theirs and got me the cash credit I wanted. Also beware that they don't have a good record with the Better Business Bureau."
