"First off.. I ordered some pc133 512mb memory for a customer on march 31 and then 2 days later i get an e-mail that they were out of stock on the memory that I ordered. They said for another $9 they could ship me another brand that they had in stock and would ship it out right away. I agreeded to pay the $9. After waiting an entire week without recieving any e-mail or package I e-mailed them back asking them where is my memory? Then I recieve a notice the next day that my package was shpped. It got here another 6 days later.
The thing that killed me is the reply to my e-mail
Dear Customer Service dept
I'm a bit frustrated my order cost $9 extra dollars and my it took 9 days from the day I ordered the memory until the day it was shipped. It made it here another 6 days later. The most frustrating thing is that it is not
compatible with my customers system, even though their motherboard book says it should be. The memory is good I tested it in one of my systems with no problems. If i get a refund from you guys I loose about $10...
Could we come to some kind of refund or exchange agreement?
Regards,
Mike
Then their reply
Dear customer:
For return & exchange, please fill out this RMA request form, and there's no agreement, only by return policy. Thanks. http://www.dvcentury.com/_vti_bin/shtml.exe/Merchant2/rmarequest3.htm
Sincerely,
Customer Service
After that I told them that I would not be doing ANY MORE BUSINESS with them and would leave negative feedback everywhere I could..

"The overall experience with this company SUCKS!!!
First they offered free shipping but still charged my credit card for shipping. I called and was told that it would be credited back but it hasnt been done. Next I recieved my order on the 28th after my credit card was charged on the 11th and my order taken on the 7th. "
"I never bought from this company. But, I used to work for them. Take my advise, DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. I quit the job because the boss is just unreasonable when it comes to customer service, he believes in charging customers in every way possible because he always thinks it's the customer's fault. Let alone that, the stuffs that he sells are mostly of poor quality, some are even homemade by himself.
By the way, the owner/manager is only 19 years old, no kidding."
"The memory sticks I received from DV Century was priced great but didn't work in any of my computers. They were 256MB SDRAM low density. They should have worked in most systems yet none of my three comps would reecognize them. DV Century was prompt in the RMA but charged a $10 return fee on two sticks of ram."
"Scam artists. They charge an arm and a leg for return of defective parts and shipping. They also--get this--CHARGE YOU for any CC DISPUTE. Read on...
I'm an engineer who understands computer components as well as the next, and decided to try purchasing a little cheaper for a change. Yep, you get what you pay for, or maybe even less than you pay for, as in this case.
The item info for the memory I bought indicated compatibility with my MB chipset. I bought it and it arrived a little later than I had expected. Found that it was completely defective--booted once in ten tries, intermittent and unique errors each time.
I got an RMA for a refund and they claimed they would not refund, but replaced. At that point I had read online about them and learned they scam. I demanded a refund. They agreed after several emails and calls.
Well, the refund took a lot longer than I expected, and I figured it wasn't coming and another battle would ensue. So I initiated a CC dispute. A couple days later, the refund came--though much less (no shipping refunded, 15% restocking fee--RESTOCKING??? To whom are they going to resell this defective memory?).
The dispute I made came back to haunt me two months later. They charged my CC $15 for the dispute fee. They're rude on the phone and pretend they don't understand English when you are winning the argument.
My CC company told me that the dispute charge is legit according to the policy on DVC's website. Never heard of such a thing and my CC company said it is rare but some con artists do get away with it, especially in California (one of the few states that allow it).
STAY VERY FAR AWAY from DVCentury!!!"
"Also known as DV Century. This company stinks, see my comments on DV Century for more infomation."
"I purchased a 512MB PC133 dimm from them last July. It did not work in my board, at the time an Asus a7v133, which supports up to 1.5gig. I called for an RMA# and was shipped a replacement which took another month and which did not work as well. I kinda gave up at that point. Then last month I got angry that I had paid good money for nothing at this point and called again, explained the situation and was told that because of current ram prices that I would have to take a cut and they would be forced to send a 256meg replacement. I told them to make sure that it would be a "low density" chip (their terminology) as I had purchased a "High Denisity" chip (64Mx4). I tried to look at this from their point of view, that chip priced were much higher than last year so I agreed to the swap and got my RMA.
After a month and 3 calls (cross country, long distance toll calls, between 5-20 minutes on hold) I finally got my replacement in on 6/13. I shipped on May 3rd and they got my chip on May 6th. The Dimm I got back was indeed a new(er) part but it was the same "High Density" (64x4) 512meg memory using Tiny BGA chips. I've had it with them. The woman I dealt with was polite, but this part doesn't work in any of the boards I have, or any of the servers I work on. Frankly my opinion of them is that they're shady operators and I personally will do no more business with them, no matter what prices they offer. They're stuff is crap and they're service is crap. I'll go with reputable brands like Crucial, Corsair, or OCZ for memory.
The best experience I've had was with NewEgg.com, which had awsome prices, great service, fast shipping out the door.
They are a professional online retailer and they will get my business; Rich-Pathetic will not."
