"The amount of negative reviews tells me something fishy is going on. I've spent in excess of $15k with them since '08, that's 15 years people. Probably 25 orders, maybe 30. Used their pay as you play plans with zero issues. One korg keyboard box arrived in bad shape in 2010, but that was fault of crappy UPS. they use FedEx now and items arrive faster AND in better shape. Oh and they just beat out sweetwater to win the best online music retailer award for Customer Service. So these fake reviews of nobody answering the phone, or never getting email replies, is BS. I cancelled a roland fantom order 6 months ago, called, it was taken care of in less than 2 minutes. If you want truly bad service and never get your gear, go try musicians friend. Now THEY are truly bad. Only 2 companies I buy from, zzounds & sweetwater. Stay away from guitar center/musicians friend & American musical supply. "
"My daughter bought a guitar from these jerks and fedex delivered to wrong address and she never got the package then when she tried to.have them honor their mistake or refund her money they said she had several past due purchased from them and they won't refund her money. This is bull %(%$ she has never ever bought anything from these fools. I wish I had read these reviews before she tried to buy from them I could have warned her. But for everyone reading this beware. This is what most.of the bad reviews are for same tactic. As for the person calling all these bad reviews untrue I have to wonder if you are an employee or have ever bought a thing through zzounds. Avoid scammers boycott zzounds.period.
Plus when we asked for the serial number of the guitar that we never got to put on a police report they sent me a bogus number when they were asked why they said they dont.know what the serial number was.

"Purchased a Zach Myers PRS through zzounds. Called them prior to order and asked if they would hand pick before shipping. Explained to them that I could buy through Amazon at better price, better terms and free returns.They said they could do a hand pick but might delay delivery time. Fine with me just so I get the one I want. Made the order, called them again and stated specifically that the Zach Myers finishes vary tremendously from light blue to hard dark blue. Stated in implicit terms "I WANT THE LIGHT BLUE> NOT THE DARK BLUE!) They say no finance charge or credit check but hit me with a $14 application fee PER ITEM IN ORDER. So what do I get? The dark blue. Exactly what I DIDN'T want. When I asked them to correct it they said I would be responsible for return fee (Approx: $150). I explained this was their error. It was in their notes. There was no evidence whatsoever of the rectangular box ever having been opened or retaped from factory to suggest it was hand picked. Being that I work at a recording and mastering studio in Missouri, there will be a sign posted for all to see not to do business with Zzounds. I will amend this review if they make it right, but I ain't counting on it!"
"They say that people only write something when they have something to complain about. Well, zzounds delivered my guitar on time and without any problems. It was a $6,000 guitar, so nothing to sneeze at. A little nervous because it was my first time ordering from them. Regardless, it was a flawless transaction. Sorry for those that experienced any less."
"I placed a purchase into Zzound to finance equipment, with 10 mins i get an e-mail telling e that my order was cancelled due to a previous order going into collections. This was odd because this was my first order with the company ever. When i call into Customer Service they inform me that a family member has a defaulted account and that I cannot purchase with them until that account is satisfied due to they can only finance a certain amount per household.
My issue is that the card, billing information, social and name on the account does not have any link to me. When speaking with the manager he informed me that "Well the name used on the Billing in the default account as well as the phone number matches to you?" When i asked so o legal identification information, just things anyone can submit freely is what's stopping" The manager replied yes and then proceeded to tell me to contact my family member and make them pay the balance. i told him this is not my debt or my issue, not even link to my social, why am I being held to someone else debt just because we share a last name? He told me that's just their business practice and how they protect themselves. "
"Tried to place an order for a microphone over 5 times online. Received the confirmation email and every single time we would get an email saying your order has been cancelled about an hour later. Called customer service and they had no answers, got hung up on twice. Called back again to try and order over the phone which we were told was not possible. Only orders can be made online, so we kept asking why our order kept getting canceled and all they kept saying is they don’t know. They don’t know. Like ok if you don’t know then obviously you cannot help me and your very un knowledgeable and rude. Y’all ****. Shop somewhere else. "
"I recently purchased a line 6 spider V. Was very excited. Needed a combo amp for practice and studio work. The amp came and wasn’t functional. The only thing that worked was the tuner. Absolutely no sound so I messaged them and wanted to exchange it for something else. I wasn’t asking for an expensive amp I was asking for fair compensation for what time I lost, and money I’m also losing on it. What is even worse is they said they would make it right. Yeah we will exchange it. Then later, no you pay the difference. As if I was asking for a $500 dollar difference in product. Exchange a cheap combo amp for a cheap combo amp… That’s all. They didn’t make it right. Didn’t send me an email saying why they wouldn’t. They just sent me an email saying I’ll be refunded. They’ve lost a costumer for life. I’ll go to sweetwater from now on and I’ll be sure every musician I know heard about it and decides to stay away from zzounds. You can’t tell people you’ll make it right and then treat them like they don’t matter after you messed up. That’s not how the world works and definitely not how a business should be ran….."

"Website stated order in this timeframe and get it in 2 days delivered before a certain date. Turned into 5 day shipping since they use ground and not actual 2 day shipping. Misleading and they are full of excuses about Fedex being slow and that I, the customer, am confused about the 2 day promise they decided to put on the listing for the item. First guy hung up on me. Would have been fine with ground and 5 day if that is what was advertised. Don't overpromise and under deliver. Have spent A LOT of money there and will look elsewhere next time. "

So now I see they are selling OnStage Cajons for $30 off on Reverb. I buy one of the two left. Three days later no shipping ... no communication ... nothing ... nada. So I message them on Reverb when they were shipping. Oh ... so sorry ... we're all sold out ... oh so sorry. Yeah ... well here's your negative review as promised. They got out of a negative review on Reverb because they cancelled the order and Reverb covers for cheats like this by not allowing feedback on cancelled orders. My ... how convenient. At least I caught them in the act of selling gear they no longer had in stock. "

"Ordered an item on their website which stated I would receive the item by X date if I purchased upgraded shipping, which I did. The item is for my sons birthday. I then receive an email afterwards stating the item is back ordered for a month plus. This is after me passing up on a purchase I found online which would have guaranteed I had the item for my sons birthday. After back and forth they are offering next day delivery… which I already paid for and would still end up waiting over a month for the item. Really? For a mistake like this you’d think a company would understand and offer better compensation. Never ordering from you again and will let others know on music/audio forums as well. "
