"First off: www.academicfile.com no longer exists (although it existed yesterday). Secondly, the download I purchased for $99 gave me a virus instead of Acrobat Adobe Pro! I will never use a service like this again and have been comfortable purchasing things online for years. I would never recommend this site or their products to anyone."

Fortunately I had good experience with Academic File, I purchased Photoshop CS4 from Academic file and registered it by Adobe and know I have no problem, After 2 months I purchased norton anti virus and I am happy with them."

"It appears that this company is selling illegal copies of software. I purchased Photoshop CS4 and installed it. It worked for about a day, and then the software told me my install serial number was no longer valid. I can no longer use the software.
It is impossible to get anyone on the phone at Academic File, and they don’t answer emails. They have reviews by satisfied customers, but it is not possible to post any new reviews.
I called Paypal, and they can’t do anything. I called Adobe, and they don’t care.
There are reputable academic web sites out there, but I don’t think this is one of them."

Then I take a Whois query from IBMdownload.com and answer is:

"This is a software piracy download site that takes money from clueless shoppers via PayPal. It does not require academic verification for purchase and is therefore cannot legitimately sell educational software. By looking at the whois data for the domain, you can see that the email address used to register the domain has engaged in other fraudulent sites:

The poster above that is confused about whois info did not correctly read the link I provided. ****@****, the registrant for academicfile.com, was illicitly using a trademark and that "the Domain Name was registered and is being used in bad faith to take advantage of the reputation of the Complainant’s mark to sell software not supplied by the Complainant."
The positive posts above are clearly from the owner of this bogus site. He cannot lie enough to counter all the other bad customer experiences one can find by googling for academicfile.com"
