CD processed order too late to meet very expensive "next day" delivery date they sold me
"I ordered a simple "Happy New Year" photo postcard that Cards Direct featured. The postcards were about $100 and while checking out the shipping options Cards Direct showed in the cart included free standard shipping, ~$30 for 2nd day air to arrive Monday, and ~$50 for next day air to arrive Friday 1/8. Friday 1/8 delivery sealed the deal. It was worth a 50% upcharge to me to get them by Friday because then we could address and mail by Monday 1/11. I knew we wouldn't have time the following week to address them, so Monday delivery would mean another week's delay in mailing. We already were a week late sending the cards out. If "next day" said it'd arrive Monday 1/11, I would have taken "free shipping" because we'd still have them by the following weekend and it was worth nothing to us to have them any sooner that week. But despite that "by Friday" date on the website shipping options page, Cards Direct failed to process the order on Thursday in time to meet that 1/8 delivery date. They didn't process it and ship until Friday, but still sent it "next day air" and charged me $50 for it - but it was too late to make Friday delivery so "next day" was 3 days later. Not worth $50 (or even $1). As soon as I received their shipment notification with a "Monday" expected delivery, I emailed Cards Direct customer service and called them too and left a message. THEY NEVER REPLIED - not by email, not by phone. They dropped the ball on processing, so they should refund me the $50 "express" shipping cost. I got the cards Monday and they sat in our inbox until the following weekend, by which time we would have received them via "free" standard shipping. I'm extremely dissatisfied. I contacted them twice to give them a chance to make this right. They ignored both contacts. I liked Cards Direct and used them many times, but this horrible customer service is completely unacceptable. I won't be using Cards Direct again. Years ago they were unique - not any more. I can get customized, printed greeting and photo cards from a dozen other websites at similar prices. I'll be posting this on every review website I can find. So skip Cards Direct, and instead try their competitors: like shutterfly.com , dazzle.com , snapfish.com , overnight prints.com , cardstore.com , tinyprints.com , cardstore.com (American Greetings' site) , the list goes on and on."
