"Very unethical business practice initiated by Crucial/Micron and close to fraud.
Summary of events:
We decided not to go through our normal rep. and decided to order directly from crucial/micron for a small order after finding an item that we needed from crucial. We placed the order, order went through, and received a confirmation of that order.
Then we received an email stating that current inventory of the item we ordered is low or limited "at this time" and they would like us to agree on a different lower capacity item. We weren't in any immediate rush so we decided not to give in their bait and switch tactic and kindly asks them to ship when ready.
Crucial/Micron then refused to shipped and instead made an offer in their email of "similar products" at different but higher price points for me to consider. At this point we realize they are going to fully go ahead with their bait plan. We then decided to entertained their offer of similar product and was fully ready to purchased.
Many emails later, Crucial/Micron then outright refuse to continue to mention nor honor this new offer in which they original made and kept avoiding the issue. Crucial/Micron decided their best course of action was to ignore the order subject and focus on how they should have worded their emails. After too many Crucial/Micron runaround and lies, (even when their is an email record by their own cs reps), we gave up.
Extremely unethical business practice by Crucial/Micron with their bait, probably to acquired customers personal information."
"Easy to identify RAM upgrade kit. Prompt shipment was received in 3-4 days. Installation was a snap. My iMac is humming! Thank you, I look forward to recommending your site."
"I appreciated the easily accessible and descriptive website that tells the customer exactly what he needs to upgrade and how to do it, for my case it was my MacBook Pro. Delivery was also relatively quick."
"Their password checking system needs to be re-evaluated. I registered with a secure password (lengthy string containing letters, numbers and special characters), and it accepted it. I tried to log in later to and the password check wouldn't allow me to log in. I had to reset my password to not contain special characters for it to let me in.
I placed an order with them, got confirmation of my order fine. Then nothing. I logged in several days later to see if my order had shipped yet only to find it had been cancelled. Got straight on to Crucial Support and they said I should have received an email stating it was cancelled, which to this day I haven't received. The support person told me it could have been cancelled due to my billing address and shipping address being separate. This is fine but I would have preferred to be warned or prevented from doing this before I placed the order. The support person also said to try ordering from Amazon or Newegg. So I placed my order with Amazon and actually saved myself some money. WTF Crucial?"
"After talking with the apple rep at best buy he suggested I order my upgrade parts from Crucial the web site told just what I needed delivery was great in just minutes my old MacBook pro had new memory an a 512 gb solid state drive"
