"I called discount auto parts twice to check on whether their cv axle would fit my car. On the 21st of December Bud assured me that it would, so I ordered the pair for $305. I received them on the 24th. After getting them out of the box, I realized they were absolutely not the right fit. I called that day and spoke to Bud. I texted him a photo of the old next to the new and he agreed that the ones they sent would not fit. He told me to call OP (the CV axle manufacturer). I did. OP said discount auto parts had sent the wrong part. I called, spoke to Joe, and shipped the CV axles back (including the original shipping label) on the 28th at a cost of $80. I followed the tracking number and they received the part on the 4th of January. Since I had called to give them a heads-up, I waited a week to contact them. When I called on the 11th, they said they would take care of it. I assumed this included the shipping since I didn't sign anything saying otherwise, I was without a car for two weeks while I raised the money for a replacement, and the whole thing was their fault because they assured me the CV axles would fit. A week later and still no refund. I called on the 20th. They said AGAIN that they would take care of it right away, but this time they said no shipping reimbursement AND a 20% restocking fee. If they had simply said they didn't know whether it was the right part or not, I would not have ordered from them. I am a disabled veteran on a very tight budget."
