"I have used Angi 3 times.
1st time - Fence - it worked
2nd time - plumbing - Angi assigned an unlicensed "pro" to repair 3 leaking pipes in my home. 24 hours after the "repair" one pipe blew out anda local plumber informed me the other two were already showing signs of failure and would likely last less than 3 days. Thankfully, Angi paid me for expenses and clean-up.
3rd time - AC (this time)
I have booked this appointment once and rebooked it 3 times. The first two were too far away and either cancelled or chose not to come back to complete the repair. The 3rd person I booked showed up over an hour late, took pictures, left and never came back. She contacted me once to say she was going to Jonesboro to get a part and once to say she would come back today. She did not reply to my texts nor answer calls for either me or an ANGI rep that tried again this morning. I rescheduled, but was about to be charged $175 for the repair than I originally was charged. When I called customer service, I was told that i requested 2.5 hours. I did not request ANY hours. My credit card was then charged $607.76 for the new booking (but the booking agent argued with me that I was not charged, even though I was staring at my Credit Card web page as we spoke). Magically, within 2 minutes, I was then credited $607.76).
The agent booked a FOURTH appointment, but I decided I no longer want to work with Angi. I have cancelled my membership, am deleting the app and not using Angi or Home Advisor again. I will pay more, first.
Just so you know how happy about this decision: I booked my first appointment with Angi on May 29...then June 2... then June 6... and then today for June 11. After I cancelled this appointment, I called a local AC repair company and my AC will be repaired by a licensed, local professional by 2 o'clock today for about $150 less than what Angi was charging."
