Elite seals are prestigious banners given to retailers who are loved by their customers. To get one, a retailer has to consistently get high scores over time
"Time and effort wasted is worse than the monetary loss. Time is something you can never get back. Everything with Optima Batteries is a life sucking waste of time. Optimum argues EVERYTHING! I Had the Auto Repair Shop test the Red Top I purchased less than 2 years ago. The Optima would only deliver 11.7 volts. Optima wants me to ship the battery to them, wait for them to get around to testing because they won't take the word of the Certified Auto Electric Mechanic. My multimeter also shows only 11.7 volts. But Optima expects me to wait 3 or more weeks for them to receive the battery and test it before shipping me a replacement. I don't keep a supply of car batteries! That means I will be without a car for over a month, unless I buy another battery. That is how they discourage a warranty claim. It is just not worth the time and money. Buy another brand of battery!"
"I’ve been a loyal optima customer having purchased eight in my lifetime unfortunately the red tops used to have five year warranties when they were actually quality batteries now they are three year and if they go dead once they are no good anymore the whole reason I originally went with optima was that they were deep cycle and I was told they could be drained and charged without issue which I saw first hand with original red top and yellow tops now the stores won’t even honor your warranty and I’ve heard from several stores not only do they not recommend them they encourage customers to stay away from them I don’t know why companies wanna change a good thing other than greed"
"They use to last at least 5 years or more. Not anymore. I can buy a Wal-Mart battery for a quarter of the price and it will last just as long. Don't buy an optima battery!"
"I spent almost 500.00 on 2 batteries red top optima for my diesel after 2 years one went out they replaced a year later the other went out 6 months later the other went out. Spending 500. On batteries I’d expect them to last WRONG THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS RUDE. I will NEVER BUY optima again PERIOD. wal mart batteries lasted longer."
"Bought 2, they had 24 month warranty, both went out on the 25th month. Left me stranded both times. Switched to Deka Intimidator AGM, couldn't be happier. Optima is huge waist of $$$, beware."
"Here’s my optima story, I bought a red top1000cca in 1991 to replace the factory group 31 which died in my 90 Dodge diesel. This battery went 17 years in the dodge, finally was having difficulty starting so I pulled it ,put a new identical Optima in and put the first one in my 55 Buick for the next two years until it wouldn’t crank either. Finally I made a bracket to put it in my riding lawnmower where it was used for the next 8 years when it recently died."
"Purchased a D27 Yellow Top Battery for a 2010 Tacoma. Warranty was 3 years, but supposed to last much longer than a 36 month standard battery. At 3 years and 2 weeks, the battery quit, would not charge, would not deep-recharge using an AGM charger per MFG instructions, and no options from Optima. At $300 with tax, this battery is not worth the money and does not stand up to the claims."
"Very good battery I ordered the yellowtop 75/25d and it came fresh only a couple days old. Floats at 13.0volts and it runs my car audio system very well. I haven't had any voltage drops since installing this battery. I will update to let you know how it lasts."
