"I have had an old Active Home x-10 system for many many years. It has survived through all my computer upgrades, but lately it has begun to give me problems with XP. I checked out the new Pro system and today ordered the software and the controller. Can't wait for it to arrive. I was having some problems removing my old system and went to the On-Line Support. I described the situation and Dan came back with an immediate answer. This is great - in the past this has not been available - so great improvement. One suggestion - make the pop-up help window smaller - it keeps jumping infront of the material I am trying to read and sometimes I can't make it go away. thanks rm"

"I had a terrible experience with X10 salesperson Tammra Stanley, ext 2636. We began an online chat, in which she assured me that my needs could be met, namely using their camera product to record audio and video on my computer and being able to watch it live and listen live from a remote location over the internet. We talked over the phone, and I clearly told her that the audio portion of the media was the most essential to me. She very confidently told me that my needs could be met by purchasing 2 products, one priced at $99.99 and one priced at $49.99. I agreed to have these products ordered and gave my credit card. When my email invoice arrived I discovered I had been charged $19.99 for a warranty that we never discussed, and that the products were actually $99.99 and $89.99. I immediately emailed her to explain my concern about these issues but never got a response. Then the equipment arrived, and was completely incapable or either recording audio on my PC or allowing audio to be heard over the internet. I was then informed by an apparently more knowledgeable salesman that "Unfortunately we do not have any products or support for recording audio to a PC.". Before I discovered the equipment was incapable of doing what I wanted, I also encountered difficulty getting the fraudulently ordered warranty credited to my credit card. I would like to say that I ordered another product from X10 that was excellent that worked as advertised and I am very surprised and disappointed at the different treatment I got for this order. I would definitely expect X10 to pay for my return shipping and give me a full refund. If they do so I will overlook the practices of a deceptive and undertrained salesperson."

"When I placed my order on Tuesday, I was told I should receive it on Friday, but it didn’t even ship until the following Tuesday. X10’s web site says they will ship within two days or send an e-mail explaining why it has not shipped. I contacted X10 on the sixth day when I had not received my order on an explanation and was given a lame excuse but I was told it would ship that day. It didn’t. I called again and was given a different excuse and I was told a supervisor would contact me. I was not contacted. I called again and was told it has finally shipped."
