"We were converting florescent bulbs to LEDs at our church. On the night of the December 19th we were 12 bulbs short. By the 23rd I had the new shipment at doorstep in time to put the new bulbs in before the Christmas eve services! "

"A few years ago, we had ordered PLT-11554 LED parking lot fixtures plus PLT-11565 square pole mounts and ELEC-ELC4536 photocells from 1000bulbs.com. We needed to replace additional fixtures in our parking lot, so tried to order the same fixtures. 1000bulbs website diverted to newer replacement model PLT-11980 so we ordered 9 of those plus the same square pole mounts and photocells. Only after receiving the fixtures did we discover they DID NOT come with a receptacle and shorting plug (like the 11554 ones did) for installing photocells. When we called 1000bulbs, we were told they didn't sell very many that way because people complained they leaked. NOTE: we never have had leaks on the older 11554 fixtures we have. Also, the website didn't indicate that the fixtures didn't come with a receptacle nor did it have a part number to order them. We had to order those separately and postpone the installers. Upon receiving the receptacles, we discovered that the 11980 fixtures were NOT configured to easily install them. An obvious place was on top for them, but there was NO knockout (on 1000 bulbs advise tried with significant force but nothing doing!). We had to carefully use a hole saw and self tapping screws to mount the receptacles. Then to connect properly inside, we had to strip back sheathing on the LED power supply cable and cut the line input to hook to the receptacle (whose leads were NOT tinned). Significant work for 9 fixtures. No indication that a different model was available that had photocell receptacles pre-installed. Fixtures are now installed and seem to be working OK - just advise using CAUTION and double checking with 1000bulbs if you plan to use photocells on parking lot fixtures (which about every business around us uses on their parking lot lights)."
