"I bought a domain which was being shown as available, but its registration has been rejected after 4 days.
I believe the validation of available domains should consider more criteria to avoid this kind of deception.

"Seems to be a good source for oddball TLDs, like the .yp that I bought. The trustee process was simplified. It could have been made clearer at the outset that I would need a trustee. I had to backtrack when I realised I could only avoid it if I were living in France."

"Be careful with 101Domains. They will automatically renew your domain name 2 months before gaining them 2 months of earned profits from you. Once renewed you will not be able to get a refund. It's in their default website to charge automatically. Be very careful. Customer service was hard to reach also. Once reached they do not seem to know the answer.

UPDATE: In response to their reply: 101Domain sent 1 email that went into the spam folder. The ONLY and second email sent was on the SAME DAY they auto renewed the name. Is that fair practice in business? I would think not. This means that many customers are being tricked by this way of doing business and I will report to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) right away. I think those who have been tricked by 101Domain this way can file as well to BBB.

A rep from 101domain.com, 101domain, has responded:

“We apologize for any confusion regarding the auto-renewal of your domain names. We had sent multiple emails months in advance to the email address on file stating that your domains were due to expire, and that your billing account would be charged 60 days in advance because auto-renew was enabled. We appreciate you sending in support tickets regarding this matter, and had multiple points of communication with you throughout the process. Please note you are able to login to your account, and disable auto-renew at any time you wish. Should you have any further questions or concerns regarding this matter, please submit a another support ticket, we will gladly assist you.”
