"What a disappointing and frustrating experience! I would warn anyone against doing business with this store. I was sent used phones that were listed on the website as new. When I returned it the first time, after long conversations with various parties, I did receive a credit for the postage; however, when I returned the second used phone and asked for a refund, I had to pay shipping and they charged me well over the stated 10% penalty/restocking fee. I attempted to contact Customer service about this--they disconnected my call after leaving me hanging for 20 minutes. (The rep came on the line twice and said he'd get back to me--I was #1 in the que) Buyers beware!!"

"I suppose "all's well that ends well," but only after a VERY frustrating experience.

I bought a Panasonic "factory-serviced" KX-TGA550M-R handset to go with my KX-TG5571 base station. It arrived quickly, which was nice, but when I tried to use it I discovered it still had all the data (phone book, recent calls) of the previous user. Worse, the handset was still "registered to" -- i.e., synced with -- the previous user's base station. Since I received no manuals, I downloaded them from Panasonic and tried to follow the instructions for canceling a registration, but they all assumed you still have the original base station nearby. So the phone was essentially useless to me.

I wrote Panasonic for help, and also emailed 101Phones.com asking either to know how to make the phone work with my base station or to get a refund. I have not heard anything from 101Phones, but DID get an email from Panasonic, which gave me a keypad sequence that finally allowed me to register the phone to my base station, although I had to manually delete the other data (no big deal).

Clearly, "factory-serviced" doesn't mean anything. Everything I did should have been done before the phone was shipped out.

Ironically, I could have bought an entirely new Panasonic phone system for what I paid for the handset alone, but didn't think to check until it was too late.

"I had the worst ever experience shopping online at 101phones.com. They shipped lesser quantity. No notification was sent about the change, I had paid for 2 day air shipping and I thought it is a business courtesy to notify the customer when there is a change in the order. When enquired their customer service personnel were very rude and later sent an email about the change. I don’t think they understand what customer service is. I tried to reach them again and haven’t been able to get through to their customer service personnel; I left VMs and have not received a call back. It’s been about a week now. It’s dreadful; I regret shopping at 101phones.com. It’s been a complete waste of time and energy."

"I ordered a Panasonic cordless phone with one extra handset. Received it with no manual, instructions, etc. Called to check and they gave me the number for panasonic that they would send me a free manual. I called Panasonic and it wasn't free. $35. So I called back with the intention of returning phone and eventually agreed to exchange phone for one with four hand sets for $9 more that would come with a manual. Two weeks later I had heard nothing so I called them. After waiting quite a while on hold I spoke to an operator who said that they were out of stock and had credited my account. She said they should have sent an e-mail but didn't then she hung up before I could even respond. So now I have to make sure I DID get credit and start all over buying a phone. Needless to say I would avoid this company like the plague."

"Order 4 two line phones from this company,rec'd timely, upon opening 1 of the phones did not have receiver cord, nothing could be done. Sixty days (60) later on one the phone the #9 kept sticking, when I called they would not allow me to return the phone because I didn't have the original box or packing, which was not explained at the time of purchase. Bought the extended warranty which is worthless now that I don't have the original box. I will not ever purchase from this company again or recommend it to anyone else. We were ripped off big time. Had to contact the mfg company, which hopefully their recommendation will work. But we are not happy with this company. Don't buy less you get all details on warranty and the particulars need to submit a claim. How does this company expect business to keep boxes for purchases such as this. It is absurd."

"Because the item I ordered was backordered, and because of problems with billing address verification, my item hasn't shipped yet. 101phones never emailed me about any of this, but when I called their customer service number, they were very professional and explained the issue for not emailing about the backorder (that server had gone down). Also, I wasn't placed on hold for too long to talk to a human, only a minute or two.

I have ordered from them a couple of times in the past and everything has gone perfectly before. So they're not perfect, but it seems they do try their best. I would order again from them.

"101 PHONES AD STATES BRAND NEW PRODUCT, BUT, WHEN I GOT THE PHONE, IT WAS A USED, REFURBISHED PHONE. I CALLED 101 PHONES, AND THEY FINALLY AGREED TO ALLOW ME TO RETURN THE PHONE, AND STATED THEY WOULD COMPENSATE ME FOR THE RETURN SHIPPING COSTS, UP TO $10. I RETURN THE PHONE, AND SENT THEM A COPY OF THE FEDEX BILL, $9.12. THEY GAVE ME A CREDIT FOR THE PHONE, BUT NOW SAY THEY WON'T GIVE ME THE $9.12, UNLESS I BUY ANOTHER PHONE. I ASKED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP, AND A MANAGER, IF THEY COULD PROMISE ME I'D RECEIVE A NEW PHONE AND NOT A REFURBISHED ONE, AND NEITHER ONE WOULD MAKE THAT COMMITTMENT, STATING WHAT EVER IS IN THE WAREHOUSE IS WHAT THEY SHIP OUT. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION, BECAUSE THEY ARE SELLING REFURBISHED EQUIPMENT, AND IT IS NOT LABLED AS SUCH. I ALSO FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE NEW YORK CITY DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS. DESPITE SOME GOOD REVIEWS ON THE WEB, THIS COMPANY HAS NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FOR SELLING USED PRODUCTS AS NEW. "The "factory serviced" Polycom phone arrived defective. I called 101Phones to arrange for a replacement and was told they did not warranty the phone - I had to deal direct with Polycom. Polycom told me the warranty had expired 6 months earlier. Polycom also told me 101Phones.com is not an authorized Polycom dealer and they would not honor phones sold by them. After several conversations with 101Phones over two days (and waiting hours being left on hold), I was finally told to return the phone to 101Phones - at my expence for shipping. "

"Just bought a "factory serviced" V-tech phone from these guys, and it doesn't work. Given the reviews I've read about this company, and that the phone was $35.99 including shipping, I've decided to just cut my losses and not risk being charged shipping to return the item, or to risk them not giving me a full credit due to the fact that the tape on the box got ripped when I opened it. The first thing that seems fishy to me is that there are "absolutely no refunds on factory serviced phones," meaning they can just send out phones that don't work, and then you're forced to spend the money with them to get a different phone. I have never come across a company on-line that doesn't guarantee a refund if they send you a defective product, so it didn't even dawn on me to check this company out first. And, it is clear on the return form which I printed out that they find every excuse in the book not to credit you the full amount - i.e. if the tape on the box is torn (don't you have to tear the tape to open the box???) Even though it's a shame that these guys are probably getting away with ripping lots of people off, I don't think it's worth my time to fight for $35.99 and all the hassle that this will surely entail. Next time I order anything on-line, I will thoroughly check the company out first. Lesson learned."

"this company is nothing but a scam. the Vtech ia 5847-R arrived and nothing worked, not even the battery. we immediately went back to the website and printed the return instructions and were truly astonished. basically, anything was a reason for them not to fully return the purchase price, including tape on the box! we were outraged and shocked because returns are the best thing about shopping on the net! i literally called the customer service number repeatedly for over an hour and all i got was someone picking up the phone and laying it down, on the desk, without speaking. i could hear their conversations and even identified their brooklyn accent. it sounded like 5 guys sitting around their living room with 20 cell phones and all they did was pick them up and lay them down. so i called amazon (where we found the link) and told them the story and was informed we had indeed been scammed and to cancel our credit card that nite. but my question to amazon is, why would you sell a sponsered link ad to thieves? our bank is disputing the charge and we are just hoping it works and enough ppl see these stories and protect their money and their financial info from thugs like 101phones.com.
just to be clear, on the packing slip there is the number above and also a shipment # as well, and it is 494235.
