"Fast delivery, products worked every time. Great prices, especially the free shipping!"
"Good, although I had to call for a tracking number"
"Great prices. Great product selection. The website is very easy to navigate. "
"It was a great experience. "
"The shipment took 10 days, longer than their official DOA warranty window, but they were kind enough to extend it. But today is the 14-day limit for these reviews. I wonder if a review would still be eligible for the drawing offer if I waited for the whole process to complete?
One of the drives was DOA. I'm in the RMA process. I hate it when I have to pay shipping for a broken item. I don't mind it for ordinary returns, but feel it should be waived for items that are DOA. That's a random cost that should be borne equally by all customers by rolling it into the price.

My RMA request was originally denied. Apparently either the original rep did not make a note of his offer to extend the deadline, or the next one did not find the note. After responding with a PDF of that correspondence, I received the RMA number. Fine, but more hassle and delay.
Re comments by 3btech
This is the first time I've encountered the 85% number you cite. Accepting it as true, you have a valid concern but I still don't like it. I've had other sellers make a conditional charge, or other arrangement that protects them from fraud or incompetence, but deals properly with true DOAs. The good ones also send me a label so I don't have to get to a shipping office -- not a small matter where I live.
As it stands, I'm paying for a fault that is not mine. Not a lot of money on a $230 order, but it's hassle, time and annoyance.

update Nov 6, 2011
The drives arrived late because of a train derailment. No fault of 3btech, but the rest is a horror story.
One of 3 drives arrived DOA. Because of the delay in delivery, it was outside their DOA warranty window. One of their people said they'd extend the deadline for this, but not everyone got the word, and the RMA was initially refused. More delays.
I sent in the dead drive, and UPS says it was delivered to LEO on Oct 26. I have sent email asking what they're doing, but no answer. So they've had it longer than the RMA window they applied to me, and are not talking to me.
In their defense, they have been civil to cordial all along.
However, it's now 5 weeks later, and it appears:
1. Their RMA window is mainly a self-defense, not at all customer friendly.
2. Their internal communication sucks.
3. Their RMA process is weird. After having approval for an RMA, I had to apply on the web. This seems to have caused it to be hanled by someone who didn't know the full story, or didn't read the full story, or didn't have access to the full story.
4. Their response to an RMA that actually gets accepted sucks even worse.

Another update Nov 7, 2011
I just got an email from 3btech that the drive is being replaced, and has been shipped. I sure hope this is the end of it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nov 12: I hope this is the final note to this series of events.
The replacement drive arrived. It is not DOA, so I guess 3btech can
rejoice they've seen the last of me. They gave me no grief about the
RMA and return so I guess they agree that I wasn't one of their alleged
85% false DOAs.
Note: this arrived late in the day Saturday, so if this had been another DOA and I were a business, I'd have had one working day to find it out and get an RMA authorization. That's what I mean about their policies being customer unfriendly and basically aperture-covering.
I think they and I will both be better off not doing business again.

"I was really pleased to find an item that I had been looking for at a price that made me smile so of course I was happy. The purchase was a easy, tracking great, delivery timely. Thanks for a good first experience!!! Cheers,"
"Great seller. The motherboard I received was a remanufactured board, so I was a bit leery in buying it, but since I was building an outdated NOS system that I already had all the other parts for I took the chance. It works flawlessly!! I was quite pleased and surprised to find a driver CD in with the MB that covered all of the drivers and all of the utilities needed for all of the hardware on the board!! Great add on that actually saved me a whole bunch of time searching and downloading. I also got the MB in a decent amount of time. i think it only took 3 days to get here. Thanks 3BTech, you guys rock!!!"
"Order process very speedy and fast shipping. Advised of order status by Email and shipment arrived on time.
Motherboard in good condition with no bulging caps or other evidence of mishandling. Included driver CD and back plate in double foam packaging inside a right-sized carton.
Motherboard booted right away and all functions recognized with auto loading of drivers.
Discovered LAN not operable at physical RJ45 connection (device prop OK).
Additional problem of an unusable PCI slot forced decision to return.
RMA process handled online and number given promptly in Email.
Will followup to this survey when replacement board arrives.
Slightly more problems with "pulls" should not deter someone from ordering through 3Btech and with their very ample selection of older boards, I expect to place more orders with them.
Update:
Mea culpa. Couldn't believe board tested good as stated in 3B Tech response. After all, I've built and repaired PC's since 386/486 and DOS days but ol grandpa had another lesson to learn.
Reading the reviews here made me think that 3B Tech take their customer service seriously and perhaps my testing missed that the Gb LAN problem and the PCI 1 problem could be related to the installed Vista on the HDD that I was so desperately trying to save for the client (free work for a deserving mother and high-school daughter).
Yep, it was the same board and I wouldn't miss any thing in the checkout. Breadboard setup with DVD added to run Ubuntu from CD for initial test; all good including Gb LAN!
Next try with HDD and installed Vista and dreaded "Validation alert" with 0 days remaining and still no Gb LAN but "devices" ok. Plugin spare LAN card to PCI 1, powered back up and it worked so that I could complete validation -- whew!
Still on "bread board", installed driver from CD (fabulous free extra from 3B Tech)and Gb LAN still showed ok in "devices" with same resources but this time it connected and was able to retrieve outstanding updates although HW never did show any driver changes.
To sum up, my apology to 3B Tech for the extra work involved in the return and a sincere thank you for the free return shipping that is clearly out side their stated policy. They have garnered a new customer and hopefully readers will have an appreciation of a real example of their products and their service. "
