"Clean, neat and fast. As advertized!"
"I'm very satisfied for the product - Canon EOS Rebel Digital T3i 18.0 Megapixel Digital Camera(Body). The price is very good and reasonable comparing with other suppliers. The package was well made and also the delivery was in time. I have no complain, and happy for the experience here. Thank you."
"In spite of suffering the effects of Hurricane Sandy, 42nd Street Photo received and processed my order with efficiency and professionalism. I am very satisfied with the response time and service they have provided. I will certainly be purchasing from them again, and will recommend them to all my friends."
"Great customer service, competitive pricing, fast shipping, great packaging, item arrived in excellent condition. Very happy with the store and purchase. "
"First time ordering from 42Photo.com. Great experience. I just received my Canon T4i Rebel body today. I love it! Will definitely shop at 42nd St Photo again."
"Great store! They shipped very quickly and had what I wanted in stock at the cheapest price on the internet. Even cheaper than Amazon and Ebay!"
"I was very satisfied with my purchase from 42nd St Photo. Superfast shipping and excellent price for the item I purchased."
"I just bought a Canon SX 260 camera from 42nd Street Photo. To start with the most crucial part, I got this camera at a great price which is much less than prices being offered by others! Once I booked my order, I had the camera delivered to my home much in advance to the promised date.
On the whole, buying the camera I was looking for was a very satisfying experience with 42nd Street Photo. I believe other folks also can find many such great deals at this store."
"Great prices and easy to order online! My order arrived as scheduled. The only thing I was not satisfied was the phone call I received prior to ship my order... The representative was "in a rush" and tried to upsell a few items but did not even had the patience to repeat himself... I felt pressured and was not comfortable to ask any additional info on the phone. "
"Overall I was pretty satisfied with my purchase from them. I was a little scared at first sense I have never really heard of them. But I looked up reviews and said alright sure. Their prices are definitely worth it! I was looking at close to $700 or more for the camera from a local area. But for $529 I could not beat that. The product came is excellent condition. It is exactly what I ordered. I will definitely purchase from them again sometimes soon (:"
"Good product price for a Panasonic Lumix FZ200 camera. Interested in the customer's experience and ensuring a good outcome."
"The management at 42nd St Photo is reasonable, and an experienced photographer should have no concerns."
"I purchased a Sony RX100 on 11/9/12 (a Friday). Robert called me regarding that order later that day, but I wasn't able to answer the phone, or talk to him that day.
He called again on Monday (11/12/12), 12:06 PM. I again wasn't able to answer the phone. He left me an email at 12:09 PM saying "There is some information that we need from you in order to
Proceed with this purchase." I was finally able to get through to him at around 1:05 PM. Apparently, there was an issue with my order because I didn't specify if I wanted a signature to be required upon receipt of my package.
During the same call, he tried to do the upsell thing, trying to add a battery, a charger, and some other stuff I didn't need with the order. I really just needed the camera. He tried to sell me a new memory card, and he told me about their promotion where they double your memory for free, so I figured I'd try it since the price for the camera seemed reasonable.
Not too long after I hung up the phone, I checked the order online, and it was updated to reflect the addition of a Digital Speed 32 GB 700x CF card for $249. There are many issues with this. First, the RX100 doesn't use CF cards (it uses Memory Stick and SD only). Second, Digital Speed isn't a well-known brand, so it's unlikely to command such a high premium in price, especially if the amount of memory is being doubled for free. Third, the price of $249 is simply too high. I had been duped.
I also checked their website for the price of my camera and it had gone down by $10, but the amount I was charged for it remained the same.
I called multiple times in that 1:00 hour, getting through twice to Customer Service, and each time they redirected me back to Robert's number. But I was never able to talk to Robert again until my 1:58 PM call (the call was 12 minutes long, so it ended at around 2:10 PM). I told him about my concerns regarding the order, and requested that the order be cancelled. He said that he couldn't because it had already been shipped (which possible, but not likely). He also said that he knew that the RX100 didn't take CF cards, and that he had shipped a SD card, and that it was just an error on the website. Feeling that the price for the SD card was too high, I mentioned that it didn't seem like the pricing was transparent. To reassure me that it was, he had me search for the Digital Speed card on Google. The first link was to an Amazon page. The pricing for the Digital Speed 700X SD line on Amazon goes like this: 4 GB for $199.99, 8 GB for $249.99, 16 GB for $299.99, 32 GB for $399.99. It seems like you're getting a deal with their promotion (he mentioned that he was giving me a 32 GB for the price of an 8 GB), but you're not (a Lexar Professional 600x 32 GB SDHC card costs about $59.99 on Amazon right now). He even bragged about his company's high ratings there. I again insisted that the entire order be cancelled. He again said that he couldn't because the order had shipped already, and that he would cancel it, except that UPS had picked it up from the store already. He told me that I would just have to return the items once I received them.
During that same call, I asked for a copy of the updated invoice (which I received by email at 2:03 PM), as well as the tracking number for the package (received at 2:05 PM). The updated invoice reflected the same information that was online at the time, which I mentioned to Robert. The refund for $10 for matching the price on their own website wasn't reflected yet. The tracking number wasn't on the updated invoice, and looking it up on UPS wasn't showing any information online yet.
Now that the tracking information is online, the earliest time it shows is at 5:05 PM (all times are Eastern time) on that day, with a status of "Order Processed: Ready for UPS". So it's unlikely that my package had shipped out that day at the time that Robert said it did. When I received the package, the paper invoice inside the box reflected the $10 refund, as well as the revision from CF to SD, which would have been impossible to do unless the package was shipped after I had called. My credit card was charged for the camera already, with a pending charge for the SD card, and no $10 refund pending.
Simply put, there were numerous chances for Robert, as well as the rest of 42nd Street Photo's customer service department, to do the right and honest thing, yet they did not.

UPDATE (11/26/12): I'm on a character limit, so I'll keep it short. Robert offered me my full money back on the card (good!) in exchange for replacing my review with something along the lines of, "I had a problem and Robert helped me with it" (bad!). It's a disservice to users on this site to modify a review that way, stripping out details of the problem(s). I instead offered to update this review. I did get my money back as promised on 11/23/12, but I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone I know."
"As always, i had an excellent experience dealing with 42nd St Photo. Their order system was simple to use, they had my product in inventory and they shipped even more rapidly than i expected. I received my new camera in perfect condition and right on time and am very excited in anticipation of using my new Nikon camera."
