"My first contact with customer service was nice and friendly. The gentleman on the other end of the phone was kind and courteous (A trait missing in some businesses). I was informed that my package would be shipped that same business day, which it was. I did not receive a tracking number (my fault because I did not ask) and I called the next business day to get one. The woman that helped me this time was not very friendly at all. She seemed bothered that I asked for the tracking number and seemed indignant when she gave it to me. I know that this one person does not reflect the over all attitude of 47st.Photo, but it did leave a sour taste. Over all I was pleased with the fast service and shipping. "It looks like 47st.Photo is only lacking in two areas that I can see.
First being customer support: the email auto-responses are annoying at best, and they often do not deal with the actual problem; also for some reason I kept being put on terminal hold when I called their 1-800 number. I would suggest working out the bugs in the phone system and actually responding to emails personally even if it takes a little longer. It's nice to know that when you contact a company they are actually taking notice.
The second issue would be their Order Status page. I believe a number of people have confirmed this (posts here) that they automatically show the order as shipped even when it hasn't. In my case, I hadn't even gotten through to their phone line (to pay by credit card) and it showed "Payment Submitted" and "Payment Processed." The next day it showed "Item Shipped" and I still hadn't given them my credit card number. At first I thought they had shipped the item before I even payed, but when I finally got through by phone I learned that the shipping process should begin that day. Accurate information is very important for people who may have never even heard of a company before, and especially when conducting business where the only correspondence is by email or phone.
Besides these issues I found no other fault."
