The website on 10/24 showed a price of $124 with 14.99 shipping for Canon A570 IS camera - after ordering with credit card, salesman asked if I wanted other items - I answered no - 10/25 email suggested item out of stock - I checked online 10/25 and noticed a price reduction - called sales to ask if item was in stock - answer was yes - after complaining, I got the same "US vs Gray Market" nonsense explanation - was told the item would be shipped tomorrow via 7 day delivery (but the shipping charge was $1 higher than advertised)- I checked status of order online 10/26) - no order listed - called sales - after long wait, when I gave order number I was switched to recording that said "customer service is now closed" - Add this to your AVOID AT ALL COSTS LIST"

"Ordered a Canon SD 800IS on line. Got an e-mail saying i should call them ASAP. I called and they tried to push a variety of over priced accessories. I refused and we concluded the conversation and the sales person said it would take about 7 days or so to ship. Within 2 or 3 hours I received an email saying that it was out of stock and would not be available for 2-3 weeks.
I called and they said to call back in a couple of week and check stock. I did that today. They said the Camera was in stock. I then asked to activate my back order (I had been told that they would honor the price when the camera came in). Surprise surprise, they now were out of stock. The clerk said they had the US version but not the gray market one. I pointed out that gray market had never been discussed previously and that they were being underhanded.

"I ordered a Canon Powershot 850IS digital camera at what looked to be one of the lowest prices. One day after placing the order I received an email requiring that I phone them to "verify" my order. After waiting 13 minutes to speak to someone, they pretend to be verifying your address and credit card info (which of course there is no need for them to do). Then I was told that the camera I ordered did not come with a battery (which it does). The "upgraded" battery is of course approximately 4 times its actual value. When I refused and requested they just send the item that I ordered, I was informed that "we'll get that out to you in two to three weeks." For an "available" item shipped via UPS there is no excuse for a two to three week delivery period except for them to either not ship the item or present some other obstacle. I'm usually very careful about checking out reviews of retailers online before purchasing, especially electronics, but what I didn't realize is that some of the price finding sites don't publish any negative reviews for some favored retailers. I think what is actually going on is that there are numerous electronics stores that are actually one in the same (especially those that don't document their physical location on their site). Today, I sent an email to cancel my order with 86th Street Photo and Video (pending it hadn't already been shipped - which of course it hadn't). Fortunately, I received email confirmation that my order has indeed been canceled, but I'm holding my breath. "

A day later a rep from X 203 calls me up which i actually liked to verify my order since theres alot of scams out there actaully HELPED ME with things that i need and told me everything i needed to know bout my cameras i was very pleased.
