"Beware! This company is dishonest! I purchased a Garmin Nuvi 760 on an internet speacial for $265. I get an email that I have to call them to "complete my order". All they tried to do is upsell me on packages and service contracts. I was not interested in any additional purchases, so they thanked me and said my order was completed. Two days later I get an email saying that they were out of stock and it would take 3-4 weeks to ship out my order. Two days after that I get an email saying my order was canceled. I check their website and the new price on the Nuvi 760 is $365.00 This is dishonest "bait and switch" tactics. If you don't buy their "extras" they don't give you the discounted price! Stay away!!"
"After cancelling with another "low-ball" seller on line (techondigital.com) for trying to coerce me to buy more accessories from them, I went to this one. And they too sent me an email asking me to call them to confirm their order. I called and got the same routine to purchase a better battery and memory card. Both times I said no and the agent did get somewhat upset but did not press on. Now he tells me that my camera will ship in 14 to 21 days!! I reluctantly said ok, cause I really wanted the camera at that price!
But as I later thought about it, I got upset, cause I realized that on the order form I was being charged $9.95 for 7-10 day shipping! So I tried to call back but they were closed. I will call back to see why this change of shipping time when my order says different! I'll post back to tell what happens with this call and whether I should just cancel like the others who had similar incidents with another bad seller. "
"On December 28, 2008, I called "86th Street Photo & Video" to ask questions about a GPS navigation system on their website: 86photovideo.com. The salesman who spoke with me was very pushy and unrelenting when he tried to sell me some accessories. He kept on saying he was going to give me a reduced price on these items, and I kept telling him that all I wanted was to buy just the Garmin Nuvi 880 navigation and I would check around to see if I could find these extra items for less elsewhere on the internet. He kept insisting and trying any way possible to sell these other items that seemed to me to be over priced but he said he would give me a reduced price. The salesman "James" was able to convince me that I needed these items and said he would reduce the prices and give me a package deal. After I gave in to his insideous methods, I looked up the same items and found them elsewhere to be much cheaper, even on the Garmin brand accessories website. When I tried to cancel my order a couple of hours later, they said it already had been shipped. He even promised 2-day delivery at no extra cost. However, I did not receive any of the items until 8 days later and one item that was on back order came 4 days later. None of the items in the packing slip was itemized by price, so I called their customer service and "John" told me the price of each item that added up to $646.00. The "Package Total" was $700.00 on the invoice, cheating me out of another $54.00, plus they charged an outrageous $29.99 for UPS ground shipping for a 3 pound box. As soon as I received the package I called them and asked for an RMA number to return the items except for the GPS unit. He used the excuse that they gave me a package deal and I could not return individual items. Then he said I could return it all, but there would be a $100.00 restock fee! I am very upset and think this company is a scam and is using very deceptive sales tactics. After this experience I found a business rating site online called Resellerratings.com and found a lot of other angry customers with over 452 "Very Dissatisfied" complaints on that site concerning their experience with this company. I am also going to send in a "Very Dissatisfied" complaint to the BBB and Resellerratings.com. I hope that my negative feedback about this company can result in some type of penalty or investigation of fraud, and even close down this unscrupulous business.

"Thank you all. Came w/in seconds of placing an order when I thought to check up on the seller. Dodged a bullet."
"Do not buy ANYTHING from this company. I placed an order for a Garmin GPS. They baited me in with a very low price $209 vs other places selling them for $250. I didn't get any accessories. After placing my order on the web, a representative called me and tried to switch my order and said, "are you sure you don't want to order a power cord?" "You don't want to leave the product in the car because of theft." I asked how much the AC charger was and they told me $119. I questioned what that included and they said a "high speed AC and car charger". I said no thanks, just send me Garmin GPS. The rep pushed a little harder and I still declined. The call ended. A day later I received an e-mail stating "by the time your order reached our shipping department we were out of stock on your product.” I waited a few days and called back to ask if I could buy the same Garmin GPS. The rep said, “sure we have it in stock”. I said good, then fill my order and I gave him my order number. He said, “oh, you didn’t order the power cord,” “Sorry, but we only have them in stock with the power cord”. I checked buy.com and the power cord sells for $3.95. Bottom line, these guys are crooks. They lure you in with a low price but will NOT sell it to you unless you buy one of their astronomically high priced accessories. And based on the conversations, they are rude. They must be from the northeast US because us Midwesterners don’t treat people like that."
"Don't EVER buy anything from this company. I called to order a camera priced at $169, wanted a memory card for $129, Craig said I'd do better with a "package" and went over pricing with me on the phone. The camera arrived and the invoice was for $476.98. Needless to say I was shocked at the price and called them immediately. I was told that they gave me the 5 hour lithium battery instead of the 2 hour I had ordered etc, etc. I told them I was sending everything back to them and wanted a refund. They told me there would be $95.00 "restocking" fee or they would send me another 2G memory stick, a card reader or give me 5% back. I actually write articles for a local consumer related newsletter and I have NEVER seen anything like this - NEVER. I called my credit card company and am disputing the charges. Be very careful if you choose to buy from this company. "
"Why oh why didn't I check here first? I have the same story as everyone else - upon receiving an email to call to verify and complete my order, the price of my camera more than doubled as "Brian" tried to upsell me. I hesitated, then refused to confirm and told him I'd call back. Double-checked the prices of the battery, memory card and charger and found them SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper elsewhere. Called back to cancel my order and got his voice mail so I left a message instructing him to cancel the entire order. Based on other stories, I'm not expecting a call back, but now I get to wait anxiously and see if they try to charge my card anyway.
DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS. I can't believe they're in business.
"
"I ordered a new Sony HDR-SR 11 Handycam at an unbelievably low price. Received the same E-mail to call and confirm and same aggressive pressure to buy overpriced accessories. I succumbed to the pressure and bought an overpriced battery and charger. About 1/2 hour later, I thought better of it and called back to cancel the order. I was informed by "Brian" that the order had already been shipped and could not be cancelled-- pretty miraculous given that others who did not fall for the pitch were being told the camera was backordered.
When I received the camera, there were two still pictures on it that were obviously taken by a previous user. It appears that what I received was not a new camera but a customer return or refurb.
These guys are bad news. "
"Absolutely amazing - how does this business model even work. I ordered a Nikon body before Christmas. Two days later, Chris (ext. 207) called to confirm my order. Seemed like the main goal was to sell me lenses (I already have lenses), memory (good there too) and a 2 or 5 hours battery. A few days later, I called to see what it was gonna ship and was told it was backordered and that guy (didn't get name) told me that it was on backorder and that I really didn't want the "cheap plastic body that wouldn't even set off a metal detector". I didn't upgrade, he said it would arrive in a week to day days. A week later on Jan 2, I called to see what the status of the order was and Clark told me that it was backordered for 6 weeks and that I had ordered the export model - I had asked about that previously but didn't make notes on that issue. I told him that I had checked on that and he berated me a bit and tried to get me to upgrade and then canceled the order.
Like everybody else, my credit card was not charged so honestly, I don't see how their business model even works."
"CAUTION!!CAUTION!! CAUTION!!
This company took my order for a Canon camera via the web. Confirmed my order via email. All good so far.
Then they phone me 5 days later and say they need to "confirm" my shipping address even though my bill and shipping address are the same. They told me that I "left out the most important part of my order - the extended batteries" and I said "no thanks."
Then 4 days later I get an email saying they don't have the product and it will take up to 6 weeks for them to ship it. So I called them to find out what the heck happened. I was very polite and told him I had an email confirmation, the guy cuts me off mid-sentence and says "it wasn't confirmed, it's on backorder - do you want to cancel?" I try to tell him about my email confirmation and he cuts me off again and says, "are you calling me a liar?" I say that I have this email here - he cuts me off and shouts, "I'm canceling your order!" CLICK he hangs up on me..
It's amazing that Canon and Amazon will let these guys do business with them.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! "
"These are bad guys. Two big problems when I tried to buy a Garmin GPS from them:
1. A couple days after I placed the order I got an email stating that I had to call in to confirm my order. When I called in I got a trick we're seeing more and more these days -- the call was just so they could try to upsell me -- they wanted me to buy an additional memory card that was "necessary" when actually it's a not-needed option.
2. The web site says that it would ship in one to two days. After fussing with them over the memory card (see above) they told me that it would take three or four WEEKS to ship. When I asked why, they said that it was because the web site was showing the 2006 model (doesn't say so on the web site) and if I wanted the current model with the current GPS maps, I would have to wait three to four weeks. (Every other store is selling the current model right now).
I canceled the order.
Beware."
"I ordered a Garmin 850 GPS by credit card on 11-24-2008. It happened to be the lowest price on the web. Received an email back to call them to verify order. Upon calling them back, I was encouraged to purchase accessories to the unit at extremely inflated prices. I told them no. Later, I received an email that my GPS was out of stock and would be 3-4 weeks before delivery. After many phone calls and the last one being 12-31-2008, I was told that the GPS was still on backorder and did I want to cancel. This company is a total ripoff. "
"Bait & Switch. I had the same experience as everyone else. I ordered a camera at an incredibly low price. Got the email to call to confirm, and did so. They didn't even try to upsell me. They then sent an email to say it was backordered. I figured at that price, it would be worth the wait. After two weeks I called again and said that the website still shows the camera with the ability to ship in 1-2 days. They said it was a technical error. It also happened to be $80 cheaper than my original order, so I cancelled my original order and re-ordered at the lower price figuring if I had to wait I might as well get the new price.
Same routine followed, the follow-up email and phone call to "Brian". I called and left a message. Didn't even receive a phone call this time, just an email cancelling my order. I called "Brian" back and asked of the problem. He said the camera was backordered therefore the order was cancelled. I asked why the camera was still showing up on their website as able to ship in 1-2 days, and he asked why I was "busting his b*lls". I then asked where his company was located, and he said "India" and hung up. Nice.
I then found this website. I'll use it next time before I order from anyone online!"
"Wished I ahd seen this website first! Ordered the Sony HDR-SR11 and receipted an email requesting confirmation. Called them and they wanted me to buy a grossly overpriced battery, which I refused. Immediately, the person said the item was out of stock and that it would be 3-4 weeks before they got them in. Also, they could not ship it faster through a more expensive service. I emailed a complaint to them and they responded by cancelling my order, which was a violation of their written policy per an earlier email. Ordered again and received the same information. Stated 3-4 week wait so I called back 3 weeks later and was informed it would be a 4-5 week wait. This, after being on hold for 38 minutes. After seeing reviews from this website, I am cancelling my order. This company falsely markets their products and deceive consumers per "customer service" awards on their website. Beware everyone!!!!!!!"
"DON'T ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! I had an order in for a GPS receiver since August and called several times, They said back-order two other times. I don't get their scam because they never tried to sell me all the "extra" goodies where they make their margins. Today I called them about another GPS receiver since they will no longer sell the one I ordered and it was with 2009 maps at least $150 over their usual price. I told them, this was a scam, and the phone guy asked if I wanted to cancel and I said yes, he said "go to hell" which was interesting to me, then he said my order is canceled. Stay away... jb"
