"When in LA, I used to order my lamps from APEX LAMPS all the time and drive out there for a fast pick up, and most of the time they had it in stock at a very reasonable price. "My original Epson projector had a long lamp warranty, but would constantly have burn-outs. So, about every 3-6 months they would send me a new bulb due to premature failure. This happened until the warranty period expired.

I noticed those bulbs had a Chinese label on them. So I went out looking for lamps and came across Apex. They were significantly less expensive than the manufacturer, but not anywhere near the cheapest on the market either. However, I didn't want to risk getting a bad quality bulb and bad picture.

Several years later, I am still ordering Apex bulbs. The picture quality and life of the bulb are excellent and I noticed they have the proper Japanese label on them and I am getting significantly more life out of them than the original Epson bulbs. I believe Epson went with a low cost supplier and had them on the hook for all of the original replacements. "
