"First let me say,AVA was not my first choice to shop.I bought my pc somewhere els first and had nothing but problems,had to deal with horrid support.After dealing with the other company and returning a bad system I did a better job on my research.I checked alot of site for price and for the support ratings and thats how I ended up with AVA.

To be honest I never heard of AVA untill I did some searching for the best company and boy Im glad I did.From step 1 till I recieved my pc was a great experience. Whenever I had any question during and after the build I actualy talk to a person when I called. The price was good the job they did was great and the support was outstanding.

I could have saved a couple hundred dollars like I tryed on my first build.like alot of us know, when you have a problem and your pc is'nt working and your trying to get support for hours on end just to get disconnected( or none ever pics up after being on hold for 2 hours) that a couple hundred bucks is'nt worth it.Like I said before the support from AVA is great from start to finish (dont think the phone rang more then 4 times before I talked to a someone) they even contacted me few weeks after my build just to make sure I was happy and to see if there was anything I need.

I'm very happy with my choice with AVA and I would buy from them again and recomend the heck out of them to my friends.

"I just received my custom pc, from ava direct, and it had been the best experience so far , for ordering pc parts/or a pc. The company is helpful with questions, and they call you back immediately with any problems or concerns you may have. And guess what, they speak English!!!! I highly recommend anyone looking to buy a pc, to use AVADirect. My only negative, is i wish my overclock was alittle higher then 3.5ghz, but again avadirect was smart and decided to be stable then just set a computer to a max level that would break in a month. "AVA built me a beautiful custom gaming computer! I ordered on-line, then spoke to Joe. He helped me tweak my order, changing out the CD/DVD reader/burning based on complaints I'd already read about on other web sites. I didn't feel pressured and he took his time.

The ONLY glitch (and it turned out not to be a concern) was that it was accidently shipped UPS rather than the freight shipping I'd ordered. Misha took care of it, and my credit card was credited. I must have messaged him using the on-line tool about 9:00 p.m., his time. I received his reply within 20 minutes!

The computer arrived within 4 weeks, as promised, worked like a gem right out of the box. Everything, including the extra power source cables were included. The "standard" wiring was perfect!

Could I have saved a couple of hundred dollars building it myself? Sure... along with the headaches THAT brings. I'd spent at LEAST 3 months pouring over the various computer "boutiques," comparing costs, component choices, customer ratings, etc. I have to say I have NO regrets choosing AVA Direct! "My main reason for ordering from AVA was to purchase a great computer with Linux installed instead of Windows. As a bonus, AVA offers complete control over the configuration (not just the OS) at a price that I couldn't beat anywhere. I got a real workhorse of a computer for under $1000.

My only complaint is that it took what seemed like an unreasonably long time for them to fulfill the order (nearly a month). I gave them plenty of time (I thought) to get it to me in time for a new contract I had landed (requiring a major computer upgrade), but I ended up having to pay for expedited shipping to receive the computer in time to begin my contract. Even so, the CSR was very nice and helpful about the situation, even bumping my order to the head of the line to try to meet my deadline.

Bottom line: great computer, unbeatable price, great service, be prepared to wait for your shiny new toy.

UPDATE: After a followup communication from AVA to see how my computer was working out, I mentioned my dissatisfaction with paying for expedited shipping. They told me to tell them what they could do to set things right. I asked for a new mouse and they offered to send me one up to a price that equaled half of the expedited shipping costs. "I was in the market for a new PC and came across an iBuyPower PC at newegg.com. This PC packed alot of bang for the buck, so I did some research on the company. At Reseller Ratings, they didn't fair to well and a lot of forum posts about iBuyPower customer service issues recommended AVA Direct as an alternative company to deal with for custom systems.

I checked out AVA Direct and I'm so glad I did. The website was relatively easy to use for building a system within your budget. Not knowing a ton about hardware, I decided to call their sales office for assistance. In that one phone call, I learned more about hardware than I expected. The sales rep was helpful and informative. Together, we built a system that packs a serious punch within my budget.

If I'd have gone with the iBuyPower, I could've gotten an intel I7 system for the same price that I got the Intel Core Duo system with AVA Direct BUT with AVA, I got piece of mind that the system is going to be done right and tested and delivered as promised. iBuyPower seemed like a gamble as many users complained that the system arrived not as promised or in questionable condition.

This was my first custom-built computer, and the excellent ratings here were a big factor in choosing AVA. They weren't the cheapest nor the most expensive, but they seemed very knowledgeable and accessible. I'm a pro photographer and not a gamer, so one of my criteria was to have as quiet a machine as possible. I left it up to AVA to give me a "rocket" of a machine with ultra-low-noise.

I received the unit, but to my dismay, it was incredibly loud, it ran great, but it left my ears ringing when I walked away from it. I contacted AVA and they arranged for it to be returned at their expense. While it was there, I asked them to OC it and they said they would. They took their time working on it because they wanted it to be perfect when I got it back.

All I can say is WOW!!! I now have that "rocket" I was hoping for and on top of that, it is one of the quietest computers I've ever been around. They replaced half of the fans and manually tweaked the rotation of the others. They also added sound-proofing materials on the sides and door. What I learned from this is that there are other noise factors besides the decibel numbers of the fans, namely: 1)each fan's particular frequency/sound, and 2)the echoing/amplification of the case interior. If you want a quiet, stable air-cooled computer, AVADirect will give it to you, just ask them to copy what they gave me.

As I said, they OCed it to about 3.7 MHz and when I first got it back, it "blue-screened" a couple of times. A quick call to their tech-support and about 2 hours of checking the hardware and working in the BIOS got it back to a super-stable state. Temps are perfect with the Noctua heatsink and the new fans.

All I can tell you is that I now have the computer of my dreams. The warp-speed allows me to blaze through HUGE raw photo-files of 25 to 100 MBs in an instant. And the sound-levels are incredibly low for such a powerful machine.

AVA-Direct is hands-down one of the BEST companies I have ever dealt with. Their expertise and customer support is so tremendous that their competition really has their work cut out.
