"The build quality of my AVA computer is excellent. Wiring is clean and neat and far above par from a previous system I ordered on line from another vendor several years ago. Yes they cost a tad bid more and delivery time is slightly greater than their competitors but you will be pleased with AVA quality. I definitely would buy from them again."

"When I decided to get my first laptop, I wanted a system that would serve me for many years as well as give me piece of mind. As a Linux fan, I always felt disappointed when various websites would offer systems only with Windows XP or Vista pre-installed. Why pay for an operating system I was going to overwrite anyway?

After extensive research of all Laptop/Notebook retailers, I came across AVA Direct, and I was impressed! The website is clean and easy to navigate, with a nice variety of systems to choose from. But that's not the best part. The customization options were outstanding! From hard drive speed to RAM configuration, I was able to determine exactly what I want from a number of drop-down menus.

For those who aren't as familiar with hardware, I recommend you give AVA Direct a call while configuring your future machine. I've contacted them a number of times on various issues (ordering, technical support, etc) and always got someone who was knowledgeable, honest, and willing to help. It's free to call, and they'll help you in choosing the very best machine you can get-- even within a budget!

AVA Direct has provided me with two outstanding machines so far (laptop and desktop), and they will forevermore be my #1 choice for computer manufacture.

"Every part of the process was smooth. You need to fill out CCAF forms for anything over 1000 dollars for 1st order but, it is really fast 2 days max. I ordered my Core I7 system was ordered Jan 21 09 it arrived on Feb 26th 2009. Some customers might go wow a long wait but, it takes time to for parts and to build and test systems.

The reasons why I picked AVA Direct was price selection and wiring. They also allowed me to use my own parts CPU & Video Cards nice touch AVA Direct.

Props to Joe Mundy he was great though the whole process. Very friendly knew his stuff fast response via email and will calls.

I love this system it is quiet and fast. AVA did a great job building this rig superb wiring.

Shipping:

It arrived in great shape. My DVD RW's did unplug during shipping but, was easy to plug back in.

I'm glad I got Cosmos S it was nice to have handles to pull computer out of the CM box.


They place foam inside to keep things in place

My only slight beef is the popcorn. I understand it is cheaper for AVA Direct to do this but, how about foam or air bag things used instead.

I will be upgrading this system with AVA Direct when Windows 7 comes out. I will have no problem ordering from AVA Direct again.

"I previously said that although the computer was good, I wouldn't order again because of confusing descriptions and therefore, lack of a feature that I thought I would get. They originally did not agree that the description was confusing, and argued at length via emails. But, finally, they did modify the description of the computer so that there is no chance of being confused. Most of my original post:

The D901 computer that AVA built for me is built well and I'm basically happy with it, but I had a couple problems:

1) It was supposed to be built and shipped within 14 business days (3 weeks) at the most, but took a week longer, consequently I did not have it when needed. They did reduce the price by $100 for me, but communication about delays was spotty.

2) The laptop has a slot for an internal hdtv tuner, so I chose one of the tuners from the drop down list - but when I received, it wasn't internal and came uninstalled. Of course this was my error, but a natural one - it didn't occur to me they were selling pcmcia tuners, when there was an internal slot. When I emailed them I was obviously upset about this, the only response from the head of customer support was that I made a mistake, and they don't support the internal tuner slot -- at all! (despite a reference to "optional internal tuner" on the order page)
They originally charged me a 15% fee to return the tuner (and cost of shipping). After a few more emails, they did refund the additional 15%.

"I would like to first thank everyone at AVA Direct/Freedom USA for the great experience I had with them.

I ordered one of their new custom gaming Core i7 rigs. Seeing as everything was ordered by them, hand built, and delivered within two weeks still amazes me. Even ordering Dell/Alienware/HP computers in the past, I've yet to have a customized PC arrive in such a short amount of time. The amount of available parts from the site was quite extensive and made the ordering process something to not take lightly (as it should be).

Pricing was highly competitive compared to other "Custom Gaming PC" builders I'd looked into. Anything close to what I received from AVA would have likely cost me around three times more somewhere else, for lower quality parts (many of which aren't even available from other popular companies).

Quality of the parts assembly is second to none. Everything is in perfect location as to not be in the way of airflow and still looks great inside the case. Every piece is firmly secured, including all wiring. I'm not new when it comes to PC building, but I could not have done a better job myself.

Customer service is also top notch. Everyone is very professional and quick responses were the norm (generally within five minutes). They also have a built in message board on your orders page that really helps if there are issues or you have questions about your order. On top of all this, they speak ENGLISH (Sorry Dell, if I can't understand what customer support people are saying what's the point?!?).

The AVA Direct website was very easily navigated as well, and wasn't crammed with fancy flash animations that just distracted from what you were really there for. Following up on your order was simple, and progress emails were sent to notify of any changes.

All-in-All this was a great buying experience for me. I could not have asked for more in terms of service, support, or item quality. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a new computer and will not hesitate to make future purchases myself.

"This is a 100% real review, I will link some pictures if I am allowed to. I was like a kid a Christmas opening my package.

I had done quite a bit of research before picking AVAdirect to build my computer. First I was going to tigerdirect to purchase a barebones kit. They kept selling out of the ones I wanted. Next I checked with DigitalStorm, they seemed like a great company but had a downfall. There selection was no good, and they really didnt want to help budget builders. If you were not willing to spend over 1500 dollars with DigitalStorm they didnt really want to help much other than prod to spend more money.

Then I found AVAdirect, there part selection is top notch. They have setups for everyone, weither you are looking for a good computer on a budget or a top end machine they flies at the speed of light. They have it all! I set my first build and took it to there forums for critique. I was giving suggestions to I was unaware of that helped me so much. This company will give you exactly what you want without trying to upsale you.
When time came to place my order, I called and spoke with a Matt Slagle. He was so helpful and professional. He helped me redo my config so I could get a much better warranty for only 3 dollars more than my original configuration. I was also called the next business day to confirm my order and to make sure I placed the order. Very professional!!!
The order process steps where so fast, even with there 72hour QC. They will answer any question you send to them within minutes, and always provide top rate information. Misha was always very very fast to answer any of my questions.
Another thing I really do like about this company, they take so much pride in there work. My case was wired so expertly it was amazing, no clutter or lose wires. Everything was hidden and secured top notch. It was packaged very very well. No lose parts or any damage of any sorts during shipping. The shipping was a breeze, not counting the weekend it took 3 days for my computer to come from Ohio to Western North Carolina.

I will suggest this company to everyone I know, you cannot go wrong with AVAdirect. They are in a class above the rest. No upsale, knowledgeable staff. Unlike most computer builders, AVAdirect cares about there customers. They will bend of backwards to help in any way they can. Thank you AVA for building me such a great computer!!!

"This is my Second Big RIG from this company and let me tell you. I am finally able to play Flight Sim X with all but traffic at ULTRA and have a 30fps experience. Play Crysis with EVERY THING maxed in 2500 x 1600 resolution and have 18 FPS. My rig has a Haf case, copper heat sink (which I found on line and they happily installed. 12 gig of ram (dual boot system) 6 solid state drives with a 1 terabyte platter drive, 1250 power supply and two latest EVGA video cards. They even installed my flight sim x to bench mark it prior to sending me the rig. I take my gaming seriously. SyncMaster 305T monitors and Lazy boy recliner for the win. There is NO other place BAR NONE that offers this level of customization. Seldom in life can you get things exactly the way you want it. But when you can.... Life is Good."

"This is by far the best company I’ve happened upon. They delivered my order 100% functional unlike many other custombuilt computer retailers out there.

1. The price is not cheep but not unreasonable either.
2. The processing time was over a month for me, probably due to the holidays. If you are in a hurry to replace a broken computer, this is not the store for you. I personally was in no hurry and much preferred that my computer arrive late but working than the competitors out there that deliver within two weeks but the computer arrives only 90% functional or damaged due to shipping and needs to be sent back and forth(be warned, some companies will just send you replacement parts expecting you to be able to clean up the mess they left inside your computer).
This company packs their product well, unlike the other companies that expect double boxing will solve everything. Be prepared to have to open your computer to remove the packing material inside before you power it on. If you are one of those anxious people that expect the computer to arrive ready to go, slow down and read the instructions first or order from elsewhere.
3. There was no need to activate the OS for my order but I did have to manually update a few drivers(a few companies out there do provide you with the latest drivers preinstalled and tested but that convenience is not a biggy for me).
4. This company’s tech support and customer support is all done through their website’s text messaging system(you get e-mail notification of new messages). This cuts out a good deal of hassle from having to put up with rude, verbally abusive, overworked and frustrated tech support people (not to mention the ones that can’t speak comprehensibly, people that don’t pick up the phone, respond to voice messages or e-mails in a timely fashion, or work other than normal business hours, as well as other communication and language barriers). I don’t know, maybe avadirect’s tech support people are also frustrated and overworked but at least they don’t pass on their negativity to their customers. This company’s tech support was kind enough to spend time explaining things to me and put up with my lack of technical knowledge.
5. This company’s customer service is also honest, they will notify you in advance of making any changes to your order and ask for your consent. Plus if you made a mistake in the initial order, they will kindly point out your foolishness instead of just being happy to take your money letting you suffer the consequences of your inexperience.
I’ll definitely be happy to do business with them again.

Dell: solid computers but horrible tech support and customer service (not much improvement in the last ten years of business with them. If anything, they are headed in the wrong direction)
HP: courteous and friendly tech support but sold me parts before they made drivers for it :/ It took them a whole year to get my laptop fully functional, but at least they were willing and had the patience to spend a whole year trouble shooting with me instead of just leaving me hanging indefinitely or trying to wait for the warranty to expire. (Unlike Dell, HP’s trend is towards improvement so I may try them again in a few years)
Apple: very solid computers and excellent customer support but too expensive. (their sales people sometimes are a bit secretive not telling you all the details on what you are buying before you buy, but apple is generally trustworthy in my book.)
Puget: too expensive
ComputerLX aka AllPCZone: dishonest, tech support tries to push the blame on the customer for everything instead of spending time to diagnose the problem first, also gave me outdated cheaper parts than what I paid for.
Acer: cheap, works, nice but not always practical(you get what you order) Now I mainly only buy monitors and some other parts from them since they don’t carry computers that fit my current needs.

Other companies I simply do not wish to mention or have too little experience with to be constructive

"Let me preface this with I would not hesitate to order from AVA Direct again.
It was easy to order my notebook computer online. I contacted AVA Direct by phone to ask some questions about some of the parts I wanted in my notebook and they were able to answer those questions and finish my order over the phone. The processing was a little slow with no updates to let me know what was going on with my order, I called and emailed to find out what was happening and they responded quickly and kept me up to date after that. I got my notebook and found that an optional part was missing (turbo memory card) and contacted my sales representative and all was handled quickly and professionally.
