"Avoid this company, which is actually based in New Jersey, at all costs. I placed an order for four items on December 7th, and only three of the items have been delivered. It's now February 3rd and, after weeks of speaking with rude, careless "Customer Service" representatives (when I can actually get someone to answer my calls), no one has given me a straight answer as to the status of my order. Rest assured, however, that I receive e-mail spam from Abe's on an almost hourly basis.

How do they get away with this?

"I ordered a Panasonic digital camera for my wife for Christmas. I placed the order online and later that day I received a call from Steve G. Thanks to Steve's input I corrected a mistake I had made in my order. The camera was delivered before the actual due date and it has exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend Abe's of Maine."

"Seller has good prices and communication is good. However, I ordered a TV for my Super Bowl party on 1/25/2012. Item sais 5-6 days shipping which would have easily made it in time for when I needed it. I even upgraded the shipping at a cost of over $80. Turns out Abes did not ship item until 1/30/2012. In fact they didn't even ship it from their warehouse. Item was shipped from California with 5 day ground specified. THis puts the TV at my house 2/2, a day after the suoper bowl. So much for the 20+ people attending my party.I am very disappointed by this delay in shipping. Certainly not reflactive of the high ratings this seller has received. "

"DO NOT ORDER FROM Abe's of Maine
I agree with another reviewer, they give the State of Maine a bad rap. I had ordered a camera lens from another retailer, it was out of stock with no available ship date so I was on the waiting list. Was excited to see Abe's had it in stock so I canceled my order at the other place to order it from Abe's. My order goes through without problem. I then for three days receive calls from a salesperson at Abe's who refuses to leave a message, I email him back right away asking what the call is about with no response. Finally I email customer service asking why I haven't gotten any shipping info (I even paid extra for faster shipping). I get a reply saying the lens has been shipped and I will be getting tracking info that night. Three days go by and still no tracking info so I email again and get the response of "oh sorry that item is out of stock". WTF WHY DOES IT TAKE 7 DAYS FOR YOU TO TELL ME IT'S OUT OF STOCK, especially after they lied and told me it was shipped. I have spent thousands of dollars on photo equipment at other places and never received such terrible service. Completely unacceptable.

"Abes offers a wide variety of tvs at very decent prices. The site is easy to navigate and clear to read and understand. Purchasing is easy and painless. Most importantly perhaps, they understand the importance of customer service. I recently had a problem with a delivery. Eventually I was directed to Jacob. This man saw immediately what the problem was and rather than try to misdirect me or lay the problem at my feet his response was how can I make this right? More than the prices, more than the selections it is this sort of sincere attention to customer service that is the real reason why I will have no problem continuing to spend hundreds of dollars at this store. No one is perfect, but Jacob reminded me that some stores sure do try."

"After inspecting my order, I discovered the original battery for the camcorder was no where to be found in the box. I was able to talk to a real person, Jacob Anderson, who patiently talked to me, apologized for the oversight, and resolved the problem by sending me a longer lasting battery. Customer service is so important today and Abe's of Maine has shown they do care about the customer. I will refer them to friends and family.

"My order went smoothly with one exception. A few days after placing the order, I receved a call form Steve G. saying delivery would take approximately two weeks. One of the reasons I chose Abe's was for the 3-5 day delivery stated on the website. I ultimately paid an additional $149 to receive the unit when I needed it. Of course he also tried to sell additional support and accessories, but I guess that's part of his job description. Even with the additional shipping charge Abe's beat the competiton's price by $300."

"I ordered an electrical appliance from Abe's. First time! One is always a bit apprehensive, the first time. Well, after such an awesome experience with Jason Scott, I will be a REPEAT customer. "I recently spoke with Matt Johnson in regards to an order placed with a different associate on January 12, 2012. I had never received the item and my acct. showed it listed but never shipped out. In doing the research, I discoverd the item was not $10.00 lower than when I previously ordered it. Matt was very pleasant, courteous and polite and spent about 15 mins. getting my order taken care of and was told it would be shipped out today as well as securing the lower price since it had not yet been charged to my credit card. I couldn't have asked for a nicer young man to deal with and would definitely look forward to working with him again in the future. My only aggravation, which had nothing to do with Matt Johnson, was the long wait on the phone for my call to be answered. I had to call back a second time and waited again but not quite as long.
