"I purchased a Fuji camera as a Christmas gift for my daughter. I need to make every penny count these days so I spent a fair amount of time tracking price online. I was not familiar with Abe’s but Google got me there. They had the exact model I was looking for,(different retailers had the same model #’s but specs would differ) there pricing was 19 % (almost $50.00) lower than the next closest competitors “on sale” prices and the camera from Abe’s had the higher end specs I wanted.
The sales rep, Steve G was knowledgeable about the camera and the specific specs I was looking for, he steered me in the right direction for the extra components I needed without pushing unnecessary items that would “up the sale”. Most importantly… he was EXTREAMLY patient with answering my hundreds upon hundreds of too many questions. I can honestly say that I’m completely satisfied with the purchase and the entire experience, and I very rarely, if ever, can say that.

"One of the absolute worst customer service experiences I've ever had. When I ordered on 3/6, the product was available and shipping was estimated at 5-6 business days. When a week passed and I had heard or received nothing, I tried contacting customer service. After 3 attempts with no response, I was desperate. I had a kitchen remodel that I had planned around receiving this product. I started googling random names at Abes and emailing whatever I found just so I could get some kind of response. Well, I just found out that two weeks later, my product still hasn't been shipped and maybe i'll get it next week. I wish I could just cancel and get my money back. I'd be willing to pay more for better customer service and better shipping times. At the very least if theres an unforeseen problem contact me and let me know. Don't leave me in the dark. Absolutely terrible."

"We ordered a 55 inch Sony Bravia fron Abe's of Maine quite hastily after having another online order fall through with a different retailer. We were attracted to the price being $1,000 less than the same TV at Best Buy. We were also excited about the free shipping. We placed our order on their website over the weekend and didn't hear anything until the Monday after when my husband got a call about our order and the upsell for "white glove" delivery service. It was explained to us that because of the size of our TV UPS shipping was not reccomended. Since we had not gotten the promotional "free" add on which was a wall mount for the TV they discounted the white glove shipping and threw in an HDMI cable (we weren't initially pleased with the extra $100 add on but I think it worked out well in the end). They also tried to upsell their extended warranty but a no thanks from my husband and they never asked again. Later that day after all had been confirmed I hopped back online and was reading reviews for Abe's of Maine. I was instantly nervous because there were a lot of recent reviews that were pretty unsavory and I began to worry if we had made the right decision. The answer is YES. We had nothing but a great experience dealing with Abe's of Maine. We called customer service to ask about tracking our shipment and they provided us with helpful information. The sales man my husband spoke to was kind and informative. I'm not sure what other reviewers went through but we had a great experience. Shipping took about 10 business days (it shipped from CA and we're in PA). The white glove delivery people followed through as promised, calling about 1/2 hr in advance, and helping my husband open and inspect the TV. They were a little hesitant to wait for him to plug it in and turn it on but allowed him to do it (they had little choice because my hubs wasn't going to sign their devliery notification if they didn't). If you're hesitating to buy from Abe's because of other reviews I just bought my TV and it turned out great.

"This company's customer service is the worst. It's great while you are ready to buy something....but to call back with a question after they have already received your money is the worst. I will never buy from this company again.
Following my negative review and another attempt to correct my issue, my call was passed to the VP of this company. He immediately corrected the wrong lens and asked that I change my review. I have agreed to change my review IF he could promise that his company would never again disconnect any customer who is placed on hold prior to the closing hour, even if it means closing a few minutes late. He promised so I hope he will keep it for all customers' sake. If it happens to you....please post and make him aware of it...he reads his reviews appears daily. I have now received the correct lens that I had ordered prior to Christmas. Thank you, appreciate it.

"I have bought various electronic products from Abe's over the years. The products always arrived promptly and in good shape. I recently ordered a 65" Panasonic Plasma TV. It arrived promptly, but would not turn on. It turns out that the internal glass panel, not easily visible, had multiple cracks, probably a result of shipment. I feared the process of dealing with it. Abe's, to its credit, handled the matter quickly and professionally. I now have a new TV that works. They will continue to get my business. ""Abe's of Maine is sure making it difficult for at least a new customer like me to wanna deal with them. I ordered a subwoofer, then was emailed a couple of days later informing me that they don't have it in stock and don't know when they ever will again. That's fine, and I understand completely. Yet, I emailed back and stated that I needed my payment to be refunded immediately back to my credit card. I got no response after another email after that. Luckily, I paid through Paypal and opened a claim on the purchase, so I felt secure in that aspect. Now about a week later, I called to ask what is going on with my refund. It took quite a while to finally get someone after being on hold. The guy said he didn't know why the payment wasn't refunded and that he just made it happen. To be fair, it was refunded right then. A bad experience although. After reading several bad reviews on this site, I have to say that this company seems kinda janky & they should be avoided."

"Abe's of Maine was a great find. I found the camera I was looking for, and the price was $100 less than anywhere else. The next day Steve Glenn called me and brought to my attention some other products that might go well with my camera. It was a nice personal touch. After I received my order Steve Glenn kept in contact via email and made sure everything was perfect. I really appreciated their customer service, and Abe's of Maine will be my first stop on my next purchase. You won't have any issues with this company. Thanks again Steve!"

" I ordered a Samsung plasma TV model number PN51D7000 on 02/20/2012. I was called by a sales representative who wanted to try to sell me an extended warranty and white glove delivery on 02/21. I declined the extended warranty but did agree to pay an extra $149 for the white glove service. The representative was very helpful during this process and assured me that the item could be shipped out by the end of the day. Unfortunately this did not happen. I noticed that the status of my order remained as “Shipped to Warehouse” on Abe’s of Maine website tracking system. I finally called the sales representative back on 02/23. I was told by the sales representative that the delivery company should be calling me early the following week and that everything was fine with the order. It is now 02/28. The delivery company never called me and the status on Abe’s of Maine website tracking system is still “Shipped to Warehouse”. I called customer service and was told that they are out of stock on that TV and should hopefully get a new order of them tomorrow. On 02/28 I was able to find the TV I wanted at another online retailer for a comparable price. I called Abe’s of Maine customer service and asked them to cancel my order which they agreed to do. On the evening of 02/28 I was called by an Abe's of Maine representative who identified himself as the company’s Vice president. He apologized for the issues with my order and explained that they are having some issues with their inventory system. He also offered to take $100 off the price of the TV. I declined the offer because I already found a retailer that could ship it to me sooner. I ended this conversation feeling a little bit better. I thought that they at least tried to make things right. "

"We have now bought two Panasonic Plasma TVs from Abe's of Maine. The first one, 50", has worked perfectly, and so far, the second one, 65" is great. Everyone we've dealt with at Abe's of Maine has gone out of their way to ensure that we were pleased with our purchase. I continue to recommend Abe's to friends. I had a question about the last order, and the Abe's rep, Louis Thomas, tracked down the information, relayed it to me, and took the time to ensure that I understood what to do. That is the kind of service that I always hope for, but do not always receive.
amazing service. Steve G jumped in and was very helpful. This type of service could become habit forming. We keep coming back to Abe's for high ticket items because of the level of service and the pricing.
