"Very good services. This is the third time I use Abe's of Maine and never had an issue with them. Steve G. took care of my order and someone else's followed up with me on the phone to clarify the order, and all was done professionally and quickly.
My camera Nikon D3100 arrived as expected and it has been a pleasure to use. "
"I ordered from Steve G , asked some questions, and the camera showed up about 2 days later. I haven't played with it yet so I can't comment on further customer service. However, should the need arise, I feel like they would help me."
"The best online electronic store site"
"very nice gas cooktop..thank you steve g."
"The price was the best that I found and with free shipping I couldn't go wrong. The package (a gift for someone else) arrived very quickly and the recipient is extremely happy. That makes me extremely happy, especially considering the price and service I received."
"My order was in during the holiday's so consider the 3-4 shipping off by about 4-5 days, that is to be expected. I was contacted about a delay of 15 days until they get a resupply and a warrenty offer which I took for two reasons, it wasn't offered at time of purchase and the price was right. On the 12th Jan I recieved "We have an updated eta on your Asus TF201-C1-GR tablet that you ordered. They are expected to be by us by the end of next week or early the following week" I was pleased that on the 19th it shipped. I recieved the docking station (keyboard)on 2/17/2012, a full 6 weeks after ordering. Good luck."
"Service that is a cut above - I ordered a camera and additional memory. I got a call from Steve G and he informed me that the memory I had selected was not the optimal speed for the camera I had ordered... the right one was actually less expensive, and worked like a champ. I appreciated the personal touch Abes gave to my order. It shipped on time and arrived quickly. "
"Fabiola Reyes is GREAT!!! She was very helpful and informative. I love shopping with Abes of Maine because of Reps like her. Way to go Fabiola and Abe's of Maine!!!!"
"Adequate information re.the lens I purchased and the delivery was timely. In general, I would rate the experience as highly satisfactory.
A suggestion:- make it easier to narrow down the choices while navigating the page for the article in question i,e, by mount, by price range, technical specifications etc."
"Great Service by Steve Glenn!"
"Steve G, who took my order, was very courteous. He was quite patient over the phone and helpful with the process, and gave me a good deal. I am quite happy with the Panasonic FZ150 camera I bought and surprisingly pleased with the spare battery he recommended (a Nikura pack which, apparently unlike some other third-party batteries, the camera recognizes and displays charge level).
The prices for the merchandise were overall quite competitive. The high-speed memory card price wasn't the absolute lowest but was still substantially better than at Best Buy.
I was able to track the shipment's progress via the UPS website. With the holidays and standard (free) shipping (I had placed the order Friday December 23), it arrived in California after New Year's but before the UPS estimated arrival date.
Kudos to Abe's for stocking a camera that was hard to find in my area. All in all, I'd do business with Abe's again, and would be happy for Steve to take the order."
"Awesome pricing. I shopped identical products with our box store in town and saved over $450 on a Panasonic GT60 3d television. I also purchased the additional warranty which provides warranty coverage for a total of five years. Now I have the peace of mind should anything go wrong with this new TV. I had a few extra questions about the warranty and the promotion that I received and Steve Glenn in their cust. service helped me immediately. I would highly recommend Abe's of Maine and their staff. "
"Great price, fast shipping, overall great shopping experience thanks to Steve G."
"so i ordered a tv... didn't choose the expensive handling or a warranty...i get a call with the sales pitch ohh you should do the expensive white glove type shipping that way the package will arrive in perfect condition. Well being that it was an expensive tv and i had the funds i accepted. I was also told to do the warranty but was hesitant but later said oh what the hell... so 350$ more that's ok i can do that. I start reading how others were pressured into that and i said wow pretty similar story. I decided the way customer service was on the phone and the horror stories i read about dealing with the shipping company they use i was going to cancel. I called back 20min later and waited on the phone for awhile. Well i guess once you decide to cancel you have to get transferred to 3 different people. They told me it was canceled. I checked my paypal and it wasn't. I called paypal and the lady told me once they cancel it should show up instantly. Well i found out that's true with a recent order of tires that were back ordered. The guy canceled my order for hankooks and i ordered toyo's but that showed up instantly.. So i wake up 2 days later look at my checking account the transaction was never canceled and i'm out 2grand. I call up they said it will be refunded in 2 to 3 days thank god the pay pal lady said the refund was issued. They don't do confirmation numbers as proof they did so again i wasted another 20 min on the phone with paypal just to verify the refund. I canceled the order right after i made the purchase so the funds should have never left my bank account thank god i had the funds to cover it. I was pretty furious at the amount of time they took to try and convince me to rethink my cancelation. With past companies it was pretty instant and a sorry was usually issued and a we hope we can do business with you at a later time. I got the hang up and had to call back to verify the cancelation was done. Moral of the story i bought the same tv through B&H photo and it's already on it's way with the same shipping and 3 year warranty for a 100$ cheaper. I really caution people who have second thoughts about abe's. If you don't want a headache and money taken from your checking account because someone can't do a simple cancelation take your business else where, i did."
"I ordered a Bosch microwave from Abe's of Maine, on 10/20. Abes was closed for a religious holiday, and is also closed on the weekends, which delayed the delivery many days more. After several calls to Abe's and to the shipping company, I was told by Abe's that it was delivered and to call the shipping company. Shipper said they hadn't received it yet, which was the truth. Abe's basically told me it was on it's way when it wasn't, and put the job of calling shipper, several times, when they knew it wasn't there.
I had to wait over 2 weeks. Finally, I received it 15 days later, the evening of 11/4/11. There was no hardware to install the wall bracket, no manual with the microwave. The two bolts that did come with it were stripped and the edges were marred as if installed or removed with channel locks or pliers. My husband spent hours to install, buy the hardware, just to find out that it wasn't working - at all. Abes is not open on weekends, so we had to wait some more.
It was supposed to be a demo model, not a return, there is no reason that a demo model should not work. Quite obviously it should have been sent to me working. I called Abe's and they basically said there was nothing he could do except I could return it to Abe's after waiting all this time. He gave me Bosch's contact if I wanted to get it fixed and told me that he would send a $100 restaurant gift certificate, which I never received.
Bosch put me to a few choices on servicers, and my husband took off a day of work to meet with one. They stated the problem is with the circuit board, which they would have to order. After waiting over 30 days (part was on backorder with Bosch) my husband took another day off of work to meet with the servicer again, on 12/9. They brought with them the replacement circuit board and now it is yet another part that is broken, which will have to be ordered, and lose yet another day from work.
So, after waiting almost 2 months (and 3 lost days of work) since order, I have yet to have a working microwave. I do believe Abe's sold an item that they knew was not working, and/or should have checked it before sending it out to the customer. I believe it was a returned product that Abe's tried to pass off. What demo doesn't work? What demo would not have included the installation hardware or manual? Of course Abe's has taken my money at the onset. I am disgusted at how Abes operated in this manner - uncaring and unethical. "
A rep from Abe's of Maine, dvm1818, has responded:
“I do apologize that you are having problems with your unit , but here at Abe's of Maine everything is brand new factory sealed with manufacturer warranty. We absolutely do not carry or would even think of sending out damaged goods.
I am sure when you had received the box it was factory sealed and if not you would have refused the unit.
I can not understand how something would be missing from the box since again the box is never opened by us.
The way we get the unit from the manufacturer is the way we send it new sealed and warrantied.
I can not say 100 percent but I would guess that your installer misplaced the screws and the instructions.
But again I can not say for sure and if you did get the unit in that fashion I would call the manufacturer and deal direct with them on it.
I would say you are entitled to a new machine and i am sure they will work with you.
If the manufacturer would take it back from us then we would have problem in having it returned .
But unfortunately we can not and i would say to contact Bosch again.
If you would like I can be contatcted at the numbers below.
Sincerely,
