"Via chat line and subsequent phone call with Ben Rames on 7/12/2016 I ordered a television (Sony XBR55X930D). There were several statements made by Mr. Rames which proved to be false.
(1) He indicated the TV weighs 35 pounds and could easily be lifted and set up by my & myself but TV actually weighs 55 pounds. I decided to add white glove service
(2) I initially decided not to order the TV because Mr. Rames stated white glove service did not include attaching TV stand and setting up TV on my furniture. However moments later , he called back stating "special arrangements" had been made to include setting up the TV so I decided to place the order. I have a e-mail verifying his statement
(3) On 7/20 I received a call from Huddleston Trucking in Tucson about delivering the TV. However Huddleston said they knew NOTHING about setting up the TV and have no experience performing that service
(4) Because of the desire to have the TV transported by someone with experience with that type of delivery , I decided to return it to Abt (at my expense) rather than risk damage to the unit at time of delivery.
When I lived in Chicago , I received very satisfactory TV delivery from Abt (December 2008) and as a long time Consumer Reports subscriber, I know it's reputation. Therefore I was especially disheartened by the experience . I will not order from Abt in the future due to the lack of honesty involved with this order."
