"While I grew to enjoy tea over the years, it wasn't until I found Adagio that I truly fell in love with a beverage I now can't image a single day without. Adagio not only provides diversity, but it also caters to my love of pop culture. I've enjoyed so many wonderful blends I might otherwise not have tried because a familiar character's name or face was attached to it. In addition, Adagio has accessible customer service and plenty of seasonal offerings to ensure that my daily beverage matches the changing seasons and holidays. Highly recommended!"
"I've ordered twice now from Adagio and have been impressed with both of my orders. Always have a fantastic selection of teas at great prices. Shipping was fast and I've always gotten free samples with my orders. "
"Delicious Tea, Great Prices, Fast Shipping. I honestly have not one complaint with this company, I am so super excited to try more. They deserve every positive review that they get! I am obsessed with all of their loose teas and the fact that you can blend your own, is truly exciting. I love the point system, as well. I have only ordered twice but I already most definitely have my favorites that I can not be without in my daily routine. Definitely a must try, and I will most definitely recommend! Keep up the fantastic work, Adagio! I never want to be without their loose tea."
"Great teas and great prices"
"Great teas, reasonable prices, and the custom blends are a lot of fun"
"I love all the teas I've gotten here! I now have a drawer full of teas of all types! I especially enjoy the feature of creating your own blend and having all of the fandom blends for you to choose from. It gives it a sense of community. The customer service is a bit slow and often my emails go ignored. I have occasionally sent two or three emails over two weeks before getting any type of response."
"The tea is decent, the prices are good, but the customer service is lousy. I placed an order for my Mother for Mothers Day. I placed the order on May 6. All items I ordered were indicated as in stock and I was well within the shipping time frame, all parties being in NJ.
I give my Mom a ring on Mothers Day and discover she hasn't received her gift. I log into the site and see that the products aren't due to arrive until 5/20!
I contact customer support via email, its the only option, and I get the following response:
"Thanks again for your recent order.
The products you selected typically ship from the warehouse that's close to you. In this instance, a few of the items were out of stock, so the order was transferred to a warehouse that's a little bit further. This would explain the longer-than-usual transit time.
We'll do our best to ensure that all future orders ship locally and arrive quickly. Sorry again for the delay this time!
Please visit us again soon!"
I never received notification that my shipment was going to be delayed, or that anything was back ordered. It was embarrassing and I had to apologize to my Mom (though of course, she understood).
I wrote a scathing response to Adagio customer service, and it's gone unanswered.
I can, of course, understand a mix-up, but not terrible service like this. I'll never order from them again."
"Low Quality, Does Not Stand By Products, 35% Return Fee
Spent over $100 on 12 varieties of their tea because they represented it as "being similar to Lupicia" which is no longer sold where I live. Received the product and found all the flavored teas to be infused with extremely low quality so-called "Natural" flavors that dominate the tea. I have been drinking teas and flavored teas for decades, always the highest quality available. I never thought it could be possible to have tea this bad."
"I am absolutely disgusted with Adagio Teas and their lack of anything resembling customer service. I ordered $53 worth of teas in mid-December and could not find out ANY information on the status of my order. This went on for WEEKS, despite multiple emails to them, and their on-line webform. I was completely ignored, never received a reply, and finally on January 7th received a weakly worded email that said there was a communication error with DHL which left my order sitting at a DHL distribution centre.
This is an outright LIE because when they finally sent me a tracking link (the number doesn't work typed into DHL website proper even!) it says the shipping info was only created TODAY and the package is only enroute to the distribution centre, NOT sitting and waiting for info at the distribution centre for weeks as this company had claimed. My guess is my order was lost or something and this company would not admit to their error. This does NOT excuse the WEEKS and weeks of communication blackout from this company. The email today only arrived after I threatened to dispute the charge with my credit card company.
I highly encourage anyone reading this to reconsider doing business with Adagio."
"I had an issue with the shipment not arriving. I assumed it was due to Adagio's error, as the tracking claimed the package required a signature.
I asked Adagio why they would ship a package barely worth $20 as signature required, and they said they didn't, and pushed all the blame onto USPS without offering to do anything (didn't offer to call, nothing).
When I got home, I found that there was no notice from USPS (meaning the driver was just being lazy and it wasn't Adagio's fault), and I emailed them letting them know that I would no longer be purchasing from them since they didn't offer to do a single thing to try to rectify it, and I had already spent hours (literal hours) on the phone with USPS to attempt to get it resolved. They immediately emailed back saying "No! We'll call USPS if you want us to! Really!" Then just do it? You don't need my permission.
They haven't followed up with me since then.
I love their teas, but there's lots of other tea companies out there, ones that will jump to help a customer instead of just writing them off."
"I came to know of Adagio Tea's existence through the widespread advertisement of IngenuiTEA, and wow, what a sweet product. (It's so much more accessible, practical--in both design and price--than a lot of the infusers out there.)
I was eyeballing the IngenuiTEA for a good while--and didn't care much for Adagio's wide assortment of teas at the time, but couldn't exactly take the plunge. The listed price in so many places didn't make it all that attractive a purchase; overpriced or used, most just sell the infuser by its lonesome.
So, it wasn't until I poked around Adagio's site out of curiosity that I discovered they were offering a packaged deal, featuring that item; Sold.
The price of the whole was/is less than what you generally find out there for the standalone item, so everything *not* the infuser is a bundled lagniappe of sorts. I really appreciated the various four-tin sampler pack *options* (although I may not have "chosen wisely" with the whole slew of conflicting user opinions), the bonus horoscope sampler tin, and small discount.
Shipping was probably the only sore spot; I kept receiving too many inconsequential updates so it felt as though if I was being forced to track every step of a slow-moving target. Without a satellite feed, it's both excessive and boring. But had there been no imposed monitoring (something less in-your-face and tedious), I would classify their shipping as "solid".
I still haven't made a second purchase from Adagio Teas, although I've thought about it. The teas and their tastes are too subjective, and thus don't make much of an impact on the whole of this entry unless they're on opposite ends of the spectrum, i.e., utter s*** vs. choice flavoring, but I haven't yet come across either. (Being a tea gourmet means making the time, or having the inclination to sample a lot of variety, and experiment...and that's a luxury, not so much a practical investment, unless you take it further.) It should be obvious why (and how) the IngenuiTEA package is such a great pecuniary hook for the company.
If there's anything else of substance, this post will get an update.

"Excellent. Fast service, fast shipping, great value. The product (the ingenuiTEA teapot and four sampler teas) was even better than I was expecting, and arrived in perfect condition. I plan to order from them regularly in the future.
Edited to add: I have continued shopping at this site and the service is still excellent. There was one hiccup, though: They have a link rewards program, and it took them about two months to process my submission for some reason; every attempt I made to figure out the status of my submission was ignored.
BUT: When it did finally get worked out, they threw in even more bonus stuff for my trouble. So let me be clear-- the only thing I've ever had any trouble with was essentially getting some free stuff, and they made up for it by giving me even more than I actually deserved. Great folks."
"Larger order processed and shipped very quickly. Upon arrival, a few of the tea containers had come open during shipment. I contacted adagio and they quickly shipped out replacements for the spilled containers. Will buy again, and reccomend to anyone purchasing tea."
"Very high quality tea. Fast shipping via FedEx. Excellent gift wrap. Affordable pricing. You can't go wrong."
"Excellent tea selection. Extremely well-packed (great tins!) and quick shipping."
