"Ordered a Canon Powershot A70 at them.
They confirmed the order in email but after a week the website tracking system still displayed "Order is in process"
Email was sent back to ****@**** , no reply was received for 2 days.
Called up customer service and after being on hold for 5 minutes they finally did spit out the order was canceled. (out of stock)
When I questioned them why there was no notification sent or email answered all the guy said was "I am sorry."
The guy on the phone was not very nice and had bad english accent too.
When I explained them the item should have been delivered not later than aug 15th because of leaving the country he said "All I can say is sorry again, sir"
SUMMARY : unprofessional, unfriendly company."
"The salesmen with whom I originally placed the order helped modify my custom system with some good suggestions. My initial order was processed very quickly.
A year later when the Western Digital hardrive was producing "impending failure" S.M.A.R.T. drive errors, Admant replaced the drive quickly.
They didn't nickel and dime me about not touching "user servicable parts" like a lot of places nor did they force me to send back the entire system. That was a relief.
I am contemplating buying another machine off of them currently.
"
"Excellent communication, quick shipping, fine product @ great price."
"We ordered a motherboard (Soyo KT333) and CPU (AMD XP 1800); it failed in two weeks we sent it back. Received a replacement, not the same type, but we did get a replacement (DFI K7-AD75). But now the new board fails on the memory test. We have put in Ram that we know works from other machines but still no luck. "
"Problems with order; sent bad net cards with order; when returned with RMA, not accepted stating they didn't have serial no. on record. Extremely poor service and unreliable systems. Fans all went bad by 3 months. Chip coolers inadequate. All system motherboards fried within one year. Would not go near this company."
"I found them on Pricewatch and decided to give them a shot. I phone ordered an Asus A7V8X-raid mobo, which went smoothly, it showed up promptly. Unfortunately this mobo was prone to intermittent system hangs and strange crashes, with all drivers, firmware, and all updates up to the minute, on a fresh install of XP. It dropped cold dead after flashing to the R1009 Bios update from the official Asus website. I called Adamant support, hoping to exchange the problem mobo. I got a machine which insisted that I would get a callback if I left my info. I tried twice and no callback ever came. The next morning I got through. The tech support I recieved Argued with me insisting that the system was not hanging in POST because I couldn't see any output on the screen, after I slowly assured him that this particular mobo had an audio POST error function which reports errors during the power on self test and that this audio function was reporting cpu test errors for two cpu's which are both functional on other boards. He then admonished me that it wasn't the "Indy 500" and that I was speaking too quickly for him; except in about 50 more words, which he wanted to repeat when he was done. After I finally, painstaking explained to him what the situation was he told me that the board was considered physically damaged by flashing and that they would offer no warranty support. The Asus tech who I spoke to next was surprised that the retailer would offer no support for a product which failed to function under normal usage conditions, and swiftly doled out a case number for an RMA. I can't say that I am all that astounded that Adamant wormed out of honoring the warranty, but the attitude of their support staff sucks, and this was a totally unsatisfying experience. The cost to them to exchange the board and have the defective on returned to Asus could not have equalled the amount they would have made by having me return as a customer for a second or third purchase. I won't use them again. Considering that I build and sell custom systems and so do a handful of my friends, they just guaranteed themselves a loss in thousands or tens of thousands of dollars. "
"I ordered the Gigabyte Radeon 8500le pro from them works great. Packaging was perfect and nothing was missing. I was a little skeptical in ordering with them at first since it was so cheap compared to other sites offering the card for $100+ to adamant's $89. They also paid $5 extra for my shipping just to get it here faster. Great online buying experience!"
"I called wanting to upgrade to an Athlon XP processor, and a KT333 motherboard. I was just getting back into the role of DIY PC Enthusiast, and needed to find a Reputable, Cost-competitive dealer, I could TRUST! The people at Adamant not only suggested a motherboard which had not been thoroughly reviewed yet(Gigabyte's GA-7VRX champion of the KT333 motherboards, which was indicative of their intuitive knowledge for product potential) they mated it with the best potential overclocking Athlon around,(AX1800 AGKGA CPU) and I didn't even mention I'd be overclocking, but said I wanted a system, "I could grow with..." the fact they had this batch of processors, and at a price well below their competitors (in fact lower then all the others) is further evidence of their quality of service. Remember, statistics show that 90% of people who order unclearly, or are dissatisfied will complain, but only 10% of content/happy customers make an an effort to write a letter, or tell others. Adamant sells a lot, becuse their a solid, trustworthy business, and sometimes the overall ratings can be decietful. It always better to read the positive reviews, these are the people with integrity intelligence, and the astuteness to spread the word! We need to hear good things man!"
"Ordered two 50 packs of TDK 80 min CD-R's from this company. Instead of the TDK's like I asked for, they decided to ship me generic "Hypermedia" CD-R's instead. Called the company up (long-distance) and they were surprised I even noticed. From what I've read online, Hypermedia CD-R's are among the worse you can get out there. Anyway, after numerous calls, I finally got an RMA number from them, and was forced to ship back the Hypermedias at yes, my expense. This is the 1st return I've ever done online, and it was just terrible. After numerous inquiries about the status of my refund, I finally talked to someone who said it would be processed by the accounting dept. on Monday (3 weeks after I shipped). This company's customer service is the worst I've ever experienced online. Just hope that if you ever order from them, you receive exactly what you want the 1st time around, without any sort of problem whatsoever, because their customer service is a total nightmare to deal with."
"I was very skeptical about this company after reading some of the reviews posted on here. So instead of passing judgment I emailed them and asked them what their response was to the comments. I got a email back from the sales manager John explaining that they tried to please every customer that purchased though their store. So after several days of consideration and a couple email conversations with John I decided to give them a shot.
I told John that I would only place my order through him; he agreed and gave me the phone number and extension to reach him at. Called on a Tuesday morning, ordered the Klipsch Promedia 5.1's for 355 plus free shipping. Gave him my information. Also I made a bank transfer to pay for these. Anyone that has ever done one knows how much of a pain and how time consuming it usually is. But John assured me that with no major difficulties they would ship the next day. I thought to myself yeah right. But as luck would have it, got an email about 6PM saying they had shipped. Checked the UPS tracking and sure enough they had shipped and they would be here that Friday! That was only 4 days between my order date and delivery! That is outstanding.
Got them on Friday, came packaged and bubble wrapped in a larger shipping box, which is always nice because usually when you buy something that big they just stick the label on the manufactures box and ship it like that. Then when you get it the box is all dented and scratched and you have to wonder if something happened. So double boxing always give it more security when shipping.
Opened them up, hooked them up and Oh outstanding. I could not have asked for a smoother transaction! I wrote an email to John today thanking him for his efforts and would like to share it with you:
John,
Got the speakers today, just in time for my birthday, and I am very impressed. I am impressed with the overall sound, but more so with the customer service of you company. To me 90% of what makes a good company is customer service; the rest is just an added bonus. Not only did you have the best price on the internet, but also gave me one of the most enjoyable online buying experiences I have had.
I will post good feedback about your company any where I can. I have also made a post on a large hardware forum, overclockers.com, about the prices and the service I experienced. I am completely grateful to you and the rest of your staff for the excellent pricing, service and delivery. I will indeed be doing more business with you in the future. Thanks again.
Would most definitly recomend for any online purchase!"
"I built my last system entirely through them. Sent them money orders in the mail, had everything within a week. No broken promises, always knew when and where the money order was. No hidden surprises. Everything worked flawlessly. I'd order from them again."
"Beware of this site. I ordered a bare bones system from them. Right out of the box, it didn't work, I was receiving memory error POST beeps. I got my RAM from another site at a recommendation. So I sent the RAM back and ordered RAM from Adamant, thinking that it was the problem. When it the RAM arrived, it STILL didn't work.
So I sent the entire system back for testing, all except the parts that I didn't purchase from Adamant. They sent it back and on the invoice, they wrote that there was a CPU failure. This system was supposed to have been "burn tested" before it was ever shipped to me. Apparently not, especially if the CPU failed.
I get the system back, and it worked, but the Dragon Orb 3 was insanely loud, not to mention high-pitched. I put up with it for a while, then got a new heatsink and fan, only to find after removing the Dragon Orb that the CPU core was chipped around the edges. I crossed my fingers and hoped that it might still work, but it was not to be.
Now after replacing the CPU and eventually the motherboard, I still don't have a system and I'm out over a thousand dollars, all because of a chain of events starting with Adamant. Beware this site, consumers, this company has horrible customer service and tech support. Do not shop here, period."
"All I can say so far is be very wary of their internal zoom v.92 HW modem.
Arrived with a broken seal because they -had to be tested to make sure the modems were v.92 and not v.90-.
Two computers and a few headaches later, I get an RMA as defective(gets checked same) for a new one.
New one arrives(unopened), with a very similar, but not quite the same problem(acting like it's conflicted when not, changes one error from 'not responding' to 'already in use' under Win) Incompatible(with COMPUTERS, apparently, get another one.)
Returning to give the ext. Creative a try. Will update rating then.
Good thing it's just my own computer.
-Update-
Had to call and talk to them before they could send(failed to notify me that they needed authorization to charge the difference.)
Creative modem works great(finally!) and is actually v.92(though the Adamant website still says it's v.90, which is fine since they'll probably charge more once they notice the change.)
Only downside is no official Linux drivers (yet.)"
"Buyer Beware!! Completely unethical way of doing business. Purchased TDK 24 Velo CD. Website listed as new. Actually refurbished. Was told on the phone by Bob that they did not know the drives received were refurbished. Next day, website changed desc to refurbished and reduced price by $25. But drive was DOA. Had to send it back. Got a second drive, that one worked very sporadically. Most of the time could not get the door open and CD would not eject until I rebooted. Between the two drives, spent 15 hours on phone with Adamant tech support (who were nice) and TDK tech support (who were wonderful). Finally, after all this aggravation, sent the drive back and asked for a refund (I was willing to eat the 20 percent restocking fee).
Recd call back from Thomas saying that, sorry, the best they could do was to either send me another refurbished drive (the 3 strikes theory?) or upgrade to a better drive. To upgrade would cost me another $22 dollars EVEN THOUGH these two drives are the SAME price on the website!!! Where's the logic in this? The logic, according to Adamant, is that since the original purchase was in Feb, I would have to pay the difference from back then!! Could not get a credit since it was over 30 days since purchase. But, returned both drives within 30 days. I was on the phone for a total of about an hour trying to understand this particular brand of thinking!
So, heed this advice: NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, do business with this company!! "
"The price was right for a TDK 24x10x40 CD-RW on pricewatch. No where on Pricewatch did it say this was refurbished. On the seller web site in very small letters was ref. Did not know what this meant. I have had nothing but problems trying to get a burner from them that will work. On the 3rd one. Ready to eat the cost just so I don't have to keep sending back bad units. Buyer beware of their deceptive selling practices. Low prices on products that DON'T WORK!! "
