"Extremely bad. Flight was not confirmed but my money got deducted and no way to get in touch with customer service. it feels like this is a fraud company "
"Once they get your payment you won't get any customer service if you need anything regarding your booking. Saving a little bit of money is not worth it, you will just end up paying more. Just book in the hotel directly. I have the worst experience dealing with my booking in agoda. The hotel even agreed with me."
"I've used Agoda for about five years now, and I will never use them again. They drop reservations- not a good trait for a booking agency. This was my most recent experience:
I had multiple rooms booked at a hotel for independence day weekend. Since I had multiple resos, Agoda decided to mark all of them as fraudulent. Then demanded a photo of the card used for the reservations. The card had been lost and replaced in that time. I tried to change the card info to my current card, but they said without the booking card(which was no longer even valid), they would not keep my resos. A week before independence day weekend, and these people have the nerve to tell me that I'm free to rebook with my current card.
I contacted my bank, who recommended a three way call to confirm the card used. Forget about it- there is no phone number for the fraud dept at Agoda, and customer service (based in south Asia) will not connect you to them. I drove to my bank and scheduled a meeting with the branch manager to draft me a letter that says the card used for the booking indeed belongs to me. No such luck. After three days of trying to work with my bank and Agoda to resolve the situation, they've finally dropped my and my friends' rooms. That's ten people who are now out their rooms for a holiday weekend in a small town.
This is now the third time this company has dropped my reservations for one reason or another. This is all after I verified my email address and other private information. How many dropped reservations and ruined vacations can you tolerate before you give up on a company? For me, it was three."
"This site books rooms that are not actually available and had my elderly fathers stuck sleeping in his car. I had a confirmation and everything. They told me there is nothing they can do and tried offering 10% off another booking. They are a disaster of a business and are only about securing the money. DO NOT TRUST THIS SITE!"
"I booked a hotel room through agoda on a Thursday for the upcoming Thursday. Was told in writing that I had until Monday to cancel without being charged. I was charged two times on Saturday. I have on the phone with them, my bank and the hotel for two hours to get this straightened out. I will never use them again."
"Agoda, unlike platforms like Airbnb or Booking, does not protect rental companies against embezzlement by hosts. I was accommodated in a hotel in Semarang and it was a nightmare. Arrived at the hotel, I was able to see the state of my room, a layer of dust on the furniture, yellow sheets with holes, etc. When I complained to the security guard, he asked me to sleep on the floor or find another hotel that he wouldn't clean until the next day. The tension went up a notch, and all night, the employee certainly drugged hit with an iron bar to intimidate me at the reception, I could not sleep all night. I left the next morning waiting to see another staff member. After a hectic night, I returned the keys. Following this misadventure, I requested a refund from the platform. The hotel lied and said I hadn't checked out. So I sent proof to Agoda of my check out after only one night spent in this seedy hotel (invoice from another hotel and invoice from my taxi with the departure time). Agoda has tried to "negotiate" with the hotel and tells me that they can't do anything. In short, despite all the evidence (supporting photos of the bedroom, the bed and the furniture that we recognize on the listing) and audio (the sounds of iron bars), Agoda can't do anything! Avoid this platform! Booking"
"I had to wait more than 3 hours for them to process the payment when they already charged me the payment. They took so much time to solve the problem"
"I was searching for a Test & Go hotel in Bangkok. I found a Mega Deal advertisement with 75% discount at C$69 / night. I proceeded with the booking.
Upon payment, the number increased to C$239!
There is no customer service email for Agoda. When I tried to cancel the booking, they said its non-refundable. All my email correspondence with Agoda is with a robot. They send the same response every time, but change the name of Customer service Rep! I was deceived and tricked by Agoda, and they are not accepting responsibility. I was a regular user of the site, but now I will share my experience with others. Do not use this service!"
"They sent me cancellation email couple of hours after the online hotel reservation, but charged the full amount. Promised me the refund in 30 days. Already suspicious. So I had to make another reservation via reputable agency. A week later I see that "pending" charge became posted. I opened dispute with PayPal (used it for payment). I already regret I used PP because their dispute process is extremely slow. So Agoda says they cancelled Another booking, not my initial one, juggling with numbers. I obviously did only one booking, have one confirmation email, have one PP transaction, and nothing else. Makes no sense, to book same hotel twice, right? So these scumbags say that they paid to hotel and moneys are gone.. Absurd. Avoid these scammers."
"Booked a hotel through them, gave them all the details and they booked a room of one full bed for 4 people. (Me, wife and 2 kids). After a long drive when I got to the hotel, I found out of the blunder they made. I called them back and they said we can request the hotel to give you an extra pillow and blanket. That was so insane. I asked to cancel my booing and they said it will take 30 days to get the refund. Horrible Horrible service "
"Our flights were cancelled due to COVID and because we paid for a hotel in Rome though them, they refused to refund or just give us a voucher. This was nonsense because all the other accommodation booked though other companies for London and Portugal were refunded to us with no issues.
They are thieves and would never use them again. Clearly they need to steal people's money. The accommodation was cancelled over a month before arrival so what valid excuse do they have ?"
"Just stay away from this travel site which has no way of reaching out to them. Here are my experience based on my holiday trip with my wife to Gujurat
1. 11th Dec stay at Lime tree hotel and resort at Jamnagar. The hotel was so bad and so small that we had to leave the hotel without checking in and loosing the one day money. And on top of that not able to reach Agoda till now. Just stay away. Book from a site which has a presence in India and a phone to reach. All these ratings and photos and description can be cooked up.
2. 11th till 13th Dec - Manek the Ocean View at Dwarikadhis. I was surprised about the ratings given to these hotels by Agoda and it was equally bad. You can read about hotel reviews in hotel section. No way to reach Agoda
14th Dec to 15th Dec - at a hotel Gir Jungle Lodge in Sasangir. This is how Agoda makes money by selling a lucrative deal to you and sending a different deal to the hotel. So we had long strong discussion with the hotel after arriving and things could not be sorted and no way to reach Agoda.
So I guess you will get some help and insight when you need to book and what you should look at is India presence and a phone number to reach..."
"I have been booking hotel via online for many years and I've never experienced what Agoda.com did to me all the years I have been booking hotel stay. Unfortunately, I came across Agoda for the 1st time and booked a stay via their website on October 21,2021.
Agoda.com are crook and robber. I made a credit card payment to them for a stay at Swiss Hotel, Lekki-Lagos, Nigeria for just 1 night. After four days Agoda.com pulled another fund from my credit card again in the sum of $70.88 (paid in local currency). I contacted my bank (Zenith Bank) where they confirmed the fund was pulled via POS. Agoda.com however told me the fund pulled via POS was a surcharge. The fact was that my stay caused less than the surcharge, I sent many email messages to Agoda Customer Care as no contact phone number to call. It's so stressful and frustrating dealing with them.
It took them a very long time to understand my complaint and today they lied to me saying they knew nothing about the fund pulled as this was a surcharge. Agoda.com can never be trusted as they have caused me so much pain and stress. Never will I recommend anyone to book via such a dishonest, unreasonable, unfair and very dangerous organization.
"
"Even if you try change dates month before… you can’t … you have to cancel and loose your money paid "
"I had to get a refund from my hotel stay since the hotel had construction going on Sunday morning at 730 AM next door.
Agoda decided to jack up the 1st night's booking price out of nowhere and proceeded to refund a very dismal remaining amount. That's called Business Fraud and as a customer I can't do anything about it. Apparently Agoda can alter the price that you agreed to book at to have a advantage on refund amounts. You have been warned. "
