"I found this company on Pricewatch.com, and my dad encouraged me to buy a barebones set from whichever company had the better price for the build I wanted. After clicking around many different prices I went ahead and found a good deal with AscendTech. However, after my purchase I still had questions about expediting my order (as it wasn't an option at checkout I had to email them). This company seems to have abnormally high expedited shipping costs. Although standard shipping is free on most of their products, it takes 2 weeks to ship (minus the 5 day assembly and testing). Although they offer urgent assembly (for an added fee), and they can ship within 3 days via UPS, the cost is very high.

I found another company in So. California that had free FED-EX shipping (Overnight) at no extra charge, and they were much easier to work with. They had all the expedited options on their check-out page. In addition to that, the customer service attendant with whom I spoke at AscendTech (via e-mail) was very rude and impersonal (in contrast to the new company I went to). The day after my cancelled order, my funds had still not been refunded. I called and they told me the accounting department handles that but that they do not take phone calls. After speaking to a supervisor, I was then treated a little bit better, and he even offered to work with me on the cost, however I had already submitted a new order with the new company. My whole experience had already been tainted at that point so I continued with my refund request. Unfortunately to be honest I will never buy from them again unless 1. I move closer, and 2. I am desperate.

I expect wherever I spend my money, especially when I am spending a lot (my order totaled over $800.00), to be treated with respect and appreciation. I did not receive this treatment overall. Even the supervisor I spoke with felt inclined to continue to argue with me and trying to justify his business practices. Even if he believed I was wrong, he could have just listened to me. This experience taught me that not all computer refurbishing companies are equal in services to their customers. It is up to the customer to review the company's return policy, shipping policy, and evidently company address (and mentally try to determine accurate delivery dates)."
