"My husband and I have recently purchased a home this past month and thought that Ashley Furniture would be the place we would buy furniture to fill our new home from. We opened up a credit card and purchased over $4,500 worth of furniture. We wanted to fill our house and were planning on buying a lot more, until we had our extremely negative experience. I received a phone call the day before delivery stating we would be getting our furniture delivered between 2-6pm. On Thursday, the day we were supposed to get our delivery, I received a phone call from the delivery men at 12:28pm to be exact stating they were at my house for delivery. Being that my husband and I work an hour away from our house, we would not be home in time. I was then told that I had to reschedule delivery and pay a second shipping charge since I was not home to receive. After calling the Ashley delivery direct and speaking to them, they told me that I had 45 mins (1:13pm) to be at home or have someone be at my house to accept delivery. I then had to have my parents rush to my house to sign for delivery. I left my work and had just missed the delivery. As you know they make you go over everything to make sure what was shipped was in good condition. The only thing that my mother was able to catch was my sons bedroom set draw was missing two handles. (It only took 4 days for delivery, but was told it would take over 3+ weeks to get the handle shipment in.) I got home about 15 minutes after the delivery men leaving and noticed on my sons mattress a brown/red-ish spot (looks like dried blood) the size of a silver dollar located by the top of the mattress where he would lay his head. I immediately called customer service and they told me "it is your fault there is nothing we can do for you." I was then told that my only two options were to 1. purchase a brand new mattress or 2. Have my son sleep on it as-is. Which any parent in their right mind would NEVER allow that.
To say that I am extremely un-happy would be an understatement. Take my advice and please don't purchase anything from Ashley Furniture. Not worth the hassle or piece of mind."
"Ashley delivered dining chairs where only 2 legs touch the floor. We refused delivery, but they would not take the dining set back."
"I purchased a lovely bed in May "Wyatt". I also purchased a mattress on sale. My husband and I have never felt that the mattress was comfortable, but we thought that we needed to give it some time to maybe learn to like it. In September, I went in to Ashley to report the mattress issue. The mattress guy (who was super unfriendly at the time of sale and when I went back in)said that because it had been 3 months, he couldn't do anything about it. What?! Also, he then informs me that we had purchased a floor model. (I guarantee I knew nothing about that, as I would have NEVER bought that - GROSS!!!) so he said I couldn't bring it back to upgrade. I am very unhappy with the lack of customer service and to be stuck with an uncomfortable, used mattress. I will not shop there again and certainly will not recommend Ashley. Furniture is too expensive to not be completely happy with! On a positive note, my salesman, Will, was friendly as well as the gal who took my payment! Both provided the kind of customer service expected."
"I only gave one star because I can't give zero stars. We bought a couch from the Rockford, il store in December of 2014 for $1169. Plus the sales clerk Patti talked us into a five year warranty for another $100. We have kids so we asked all the questions about what is covered in the warranty. About a month ago I sat on my sleeper couch and the corner broke and the whole bed
Frame is now broken.it took two weeks to hear from Ashley and their service guy.we made a appointment to come look at it.he never showed up. Then a week later he finally came.he took the broken piece with him and said they would either fix it or give us a new one. Well we never heard back from him. Finally another week and when we call him his phone goes right to voice mail. We talked to the manager Gabby and read the warranty online to her and according to it we are covered but she said that it's only covered if we dropped it while moving it not if you sit on it. Apparently we abused it. So now they won't even fix the corner piece and he won't even give us back the broken piece. We have pics of the broken piece he took and of him in our home and audio of him saying he would fix it or replace it. We called corporate and the lady there, Amber said that they had no record of the tech guy Roger coming to our house, no record of our complaint or even didnt know we had a problem. So she said she would call the Rockford store and get to the bottom of it. Well within 5 mins Amber called us back and said that in the tech guy, Roger, his report said it was customer abuse and they won't fix it. Well after 10 mins we called the manager from Rockford store Gabby back and guess what SHE LEFT FOR THE DAY. imagine that. Well we are now out over $1200 and we got a sleeper couch so my husband and I had a bed to sleep on so both my kids could have a bedroom to sleep in because we only have a two bedroom house. So for the last month my husband and I have been sleeping on the floor and we saved our hard earned money for over a year to get our first new piece of furniture. I don't know how these people live with themselves taking people's hard earned money and doing these things. This is what is wrong with this country. What ever happened to good customer service. But ASHLEY FURNITURE IN ROCKFORD IL is horrible. So thank you Amber from corporate and Roger the tech guy, Patti the sales lady and Tiffany and Gabby from Rockford store. I now know to be more careful from now on with stupid people like you. God is watching your actions."
"I purchased a dresser from Ashley in early August. At the time of purchase, I was given a delivery date of August 4, however the warehouse confirmed August 5th. I was confirmed for delivery on August 5 between 3-5 or 6pm, I took the afternoon off work to wait for the delivery. At 5:30pm, I had not heard from anyone and there was no sign of delivery. I called the warehouse and could not reach anyone. I left a voicemail asking what was going on and if delivery would happen that day. I received a call back after 8pm that evening from Johnny (warehouse supervisor) informing me that they were off schedule and could deliver the item at 10:30pm. I informed him I would not accept a delivery at that time of night and explained my frustration for taking an afternoon off of work and no one even contacted me to tell me they would not be there on time. I informed Johnny that I wanted my item delivered that week, I had already removed my dresser and had nowhere to store my clothes and wanted the dresser that week or I would cancel the order all together. I was scheduled for delivery that Saturday Aug 8th. When the dresser arrived, I immediately noticed damage to the bottom (scratches) on both sides of the furniture. I informed the delivery drivers and they took pictures and told me someone would be in touch to arrange repair. I never heard from anyone. A few days later I noticed the marble top was separating from the dresser. I then called customer care to inform them of my new finding and to inquire as to why no one had called to schedule a repair. Customer care was apologetic for the problem and pulled up the pictures that were taken at delivery and informed me she would send out a new piece b/c of the damage. I agreed and had a delivery date of Aug 26 (today). The item that was set to be delivered today was damaged, the delivery drivers asked what was wrong with the current piece and stated the new dresser on the truck was in worse condition (scratches and cracked marble). I did not accept the item in worse condition.
At this point, I am fed up with my experience and terrible service. The scheduling and delivery efforts have been a nightmare. The customer service returning calls has been terrible and have not been consistent with what they tell me over the phone. I had intentions to purchase a living room set from Ashley and have now decided I WILL NOT purchase another items from Ashley and will be writing reviews about my experience. I am very dissatisfied with my experience, furniture shopping is supposed to be an enjoyable experience, however this is not the case for me dealing with Ashley. I have never experienced such poor service from any purchase of this type. I am upset that I have been inconvenienced with time off work (no show delivery), not having furniture due to the faiiled delivery, now again prepped for delivery today have removed all my items from the dresser to only not get the replacement today. I am truly dissatisfied and would not refer anyone to purchase after my experience. I will write an email to corporate as well and plan to post reviews to inform others of the bad service I have encountered.
Signed,
Very Dissatisfied Customer

" Ashley Furniture was supposed to have delivered my coffee tables and cocktail tables last Monday 8/10. Order number 500807670. Well, they forgot the Coffee Table and promised to deliver the following day, Tuesday 8/11. They did not deliver and nobody had the courtesy of making a simple phone call. Since they could not deliver on Wednesday, they promised to deliver today Thursday 8/13 between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm... Well they arrived at 10:35 pm with an old, dirty and scratched table, in a way that I would not pay $5.00 for it if I had seen it at a Garage Sale. I am sick and tired. I am at a verge of a nervous breakdown. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (complaint number 10766294) and tomorrow I am filing a complaint in court. This is simply unacceptable.... I've missed work, doctor's appointments, and a family dinner because of you... I need an answer ASAP.. I should have read all the complaints and negative comments about Ashley Furniture before I purchased all of this furniture from you. The metal bed came in all scratched...I HAVE PICTURES TO PROVE :("
"I bought a mattress in late October 2014 at the Ashley store in Tacoma, Washington. It was a floor model yet was told that the warranty would still be intact. I even bought the protection kit for it because I was informed that if I didn't the warranty could be voided. After two months the bed started sagging on my side of the bed. I am not overweight, 6'3 225 pounds. When I called the store to get a replacement they informed me that they, Ashley's store, could not replace it and to call the manufacturer. I did and they informed me that I would have to call Ashley's back. I never signed any documentation stating the mattress was as is and since February 2015 have been calling back and forth to the store and Ashley customer service. They have not once gave me a call back, I have to wait anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours on hold and still have not reached a resolution. I am a military soldier and they have done this to several of other soldiers on my installation. I am working with BBB and other military organizations to keep others soldiers from going through this. Will never purchase again through Ashley's and will try and keep others from purchasing from them as well"
"Ashleys is NOT what it appears on TV if someone would have told me it was a Un organized unprofessional company I would have Never bought furniture there or even the protection plan I live in San Antonio TX, Ashleys switch to a new system so they say!, and now they lost all the notes and everything and everyone who I spoke with is like it never happened I have a king sized bed who the persons who deliver did not set it up right. Ever since I called ashleys and they send someone to look at it and they screw something the previous person should have done and then it was the same they forgot to add other parts. Ashleys avoided the problem said they would call back they never did until this day the problem is still not resolved after almost over 2 yrs. This is tooo stressful and I will tell everyone I know please make sure you Don't buy there I hope is just San Antonio and not everyone else."
"I purchased 2 sofa's and a coffee table at Ashley in Myrtle Beach on Frontage Road last week. I asked for 24 month financing. Got home and looked for the coffee table on line and could not find it. I needed the measurements. Called the store and they could not understand why it was not on line. Well after 3 calls I was told it was discontinued and the price was actually wrong. This was my first clue that they were dishonest. They took the table off my bill and sent me a updated bill. Then I received a ASHLEY credit card in the mail and DID NOT APPLY FOR ONE! having worked in Banking for over 30 yrs I know this is not legal and did not sign for a credit card. Also they told me that the sofa's I ordered are so popular that delivery would not be until late August or early September. I now see on the bill DELIVERY ASAP which means what??? If they want to delivery tomorrow i have to accept?? So very sorry I bought here and wish I could cancel without penalty. "
"I WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM ASHLEYS AGAIN! I will tell all of my family, friends and acquaintances not to waste their money on such cheep, lousy furniture! I have had my bed set for THREE MONTHS and they refuse to replace the CRACKED headboard because of "SUSPECTED MOVING", the funny thing is my bed is already too big for my room, there is simply no where to move it NOR THE MAN POWER to move such a big bed. I seriously have never been disappointed in a product, I will never give them or any other companies associated with them the time of day nor another penny. "
"Ashley Home Furniture is a horrible company. My husband and I ordered a dining room set in May and was told it would be delivered to us in 3 weeks. By the end of June I had still not heard from then so I called the store to ask to speak with the sale representative who sold the set to us. After being on hold for 5 minutes, the woman informed me he was with a customer and that he would call me back. I never heard from him so I stopped by the store the next day. The service desk informed me that the table was on back order and would not be available until late August (that is 4 months from the time I ordered). I told them that this is ridiculous and that someone should have called to inform of this. Also, I was expecting the sales person to call me back which he never did. The manager said "he was out yesterday" which is not what the woman on the phone told me yesterday when I called.
Regardless, my husband and I cancelled the order on Friday, July 3rd. They told us the person who issues the check was not in and that I could come on Monday to pick up the check. I called on Monday just to make sure the check was ready for pick up. I was told that the person was not in again (due to some medical issue) and the soonest I could get the check would be on Thursday!!! Really??? There is only one person in the entire store who can issue checks? What kind of company is this. I will never do business with them again. Their sales people are not honest or forth coming with information and do nothing to improve on this. "
"My family and I just recently moved to Bakersfield California from Oregon, We decided to order all new furniture through you guys (Ashley's) My aunt put it on her credit line trough you guys... My mom aunt and I went in and originally ordered a Secontional, a Queen Size bed with a box frame. And a dinning room table with 6 chairs to go with it, Once we got into our new house we realized the sectional was too big so we cancelled it and ordered a stander couch and love seat. All of our furniture came seperatly. We ordered everything together. And we are just now receiving our table. Nearly 2 1/2 months after ordering, our sales rep has had no clue what's been going on, they delivered 6 chairs to us without a table and failed to tell us that our table was on back order... Now the table was delivered today, June 23 2015 and the guys who dropped it off weren't able to take back the table that was rented out to us. This whole company has lost our business, the lack of communication is incredible. The constant round and round you have to go through to get some sort of answer is insane. We will NEVER do business with this company every again. "
"I purchased a dining set with place mats and stoneware, and a rug back in April 2015. When the product was delivered a few days later, the placemats were in back order and the rug did not match our decor. My husband refused the rug (we were told by the sales person this would be okay)
.
A few days later the place mats and rug arrived via UPS. It was left at the door since we were not home.
My husband tried to return it to the store in Colton, CA where we purchased it and was told they don't accept returns. I called the Customer Service number a couple of days later and was told they didn't understNd why the local store wouldn't take it back since there were notes in their system saying it was okay to do so.
My husband made a second trip to the store and spoke to a manager names Jay who walked over with him to give the okay to issue the credit.
He got a copy of the credit memo but it was not applied to the Ashley credit card account. Now we will need to make a third trip to the store to try to resolve this
This will be the last time I purchase anything from them as their customer service and follow up is poor "
"After a year and a half all 3 recliners underneath were ripping among other places. After making some noise, numerous phone calls, and complaints they agreed to fix it. I really wanted it hauled off as it is still owed for. Fast forward weeks later they sent the replacement leather cushions and pieces to my home. When I pulled the first piece out it had holes punched in the same place as my recliners are ripping which tells me they are doing something wrong on the manufacturer side. The next pieces were shipped all different days. The second piece came with holes on both sides of the bags and the leather sticking out. The product was not boxed. Finally I did not open the other packages as I had seen enough. This sickens me, upsets me and not one thing I can do about it except finish paying on screwed up furniture! :("
"Terrible customer service! The finish on the top of our kitchen table is coming off after only two years of normal use. There is no reason for it and it looks awful. I have to use a tablecloth to cover it. When I called about it, Ashley Furniture said that there was nothing they could do because I did not purchase the extended warranty. They gave me the contact info for a business that could repair it for me. When I called that number, they said I lived out of their area (even though I live 25 min from Ashley Furniture). So I called Ashley Furniture back and asked for another contact to fix my table, but they said they didn't have anyone else. Are you kidding me? It's bad enough they sold me a poorly-made table that I have to pay to have fixed after 2 years, but they can't even help me find someone to fix it? I have spent a ton of money in their store over the years, but they just lost a customer!"
