"Wasn't really impressed with my service at all this time around. When I first called to set up my appointment the person on the phone made me believe they couldn't find my name in the system and were very rude and short. I ended up having to go in just to make my appt, which is pretty inconvenient considering I live 25 minutes away. When we arrived to have the work done they acted as though they could not check my transmission fluid like I asked (my car has no dipstick), even though an auto shop obviously can do so. They also didn't give me an appt time so my car sat around for a full day not being worked on, which is very inconvenient. When the car was done getting a warrantied part replaced we were asked to pay for labor, which I also thought was pretty off as I never had to do so in the past, when getting a part replaced under warranty. Then when we picked up the car after two days of being held for what should have been just a few hours work, the worker didn't actually know what had been done to my car, besides the part begin replaced (we asked for a few additional things to be done). It wasn't until I left a poor review a few days later that I was called and told what all work had been done, and asked why I was so unhappy (which seemed pretty obvious to me). Just overall unprofessional. At least my car runs."

"I have had 3 experiences with this shop and each time was a nightmare. the first time I went I had 2 tires put on and a wheel alignment. when I got into my cay to leave, the steering wheel was cocked 30 degrees. I had to get to an appointment so I had to drive like that for the rest of the day until I could get back in there. the 2nd time I had 2 more tires put on, once I got it on the highway I could tell the tires were out of balance. I brought the car back in to get the tires rebalanced and a tire pressure monitor put in. After a 4 hour wait to have this done, the tires are still out of balance. I WILL NEVER BRING MY CAR BACK TO AUTO TIRE AGAIN. "
"Brought truck in for an alignment. While waiting service manager came out to apologize for wait, said mechanic had to go get a tool for the work. He did not need to do this as I did not think I was waiting that long. Then when I was ready to check out they gave me the price with a coupon offer. Once again they did not need to do this but it was very much appreciated.
Every time I come to this service center I have been treated well with good service. That is why I keep coming back. "

"My car has 100,000 miles and we were planning a trip to Virginia, so I brought it in to the Kirkwood MO store for an oil change and transmission flush. Even with a 10 o'clock appointment on a Sunday morning, the car was not ready until 2:30. Four and one-half hours. The car had never had any transmission problems until I brought it in for service, but started acting intermittently erratic immediately. Did not trust it on a road trip, When I got back I brought it back for follow up. The diagnosis was a trans cooler leak and replacement would cost $210.38, an OBDII computer scan for $110, a trans flush and fill for $69.99 and a shop service fee of $39.00 for a total of $429.37. I refused and brought it to Route 66 Auto Service. They checked and found completely different problems. They found that there was no trans cooler leak but rather the leak was because the oil drain plug was not tight. They tightened it and topped off the oil. They also checked the transmission fluid level and found it to be over two quarts low. They filled it to the proper level. It cost me $98.19. That was over three weeks ago. I have had no leaks and no problems since. I was not pleased about having to pay to correct Autotire's mistakes and wrote two letters (mailed on Sep 24 and Oct 03) to manager Jeff Stough seeking a resolution. As of Oct 14 have not heard a word from him. No letter, no phone call, no nothing. Needless to say, I am very unhappy and dissatisfied with the service at the Kirkwood Autotire. Until this is resolved to my satisfaction I will not be back and Autotire can consider me an ex-customer."
