"I am very satisfied with the service at Barnes & Noble. Living on Guam, I typically find that shipping costs can be quite costly and often times I do not qualify for free shipping. Such was not the case at Barnes & Noble. I was so glad that I did not have to pay for shipping! I had ordered from Amazon a few weeks prior and had to pay shipping costs. I was sure of that the order from Amazon would come within a week but I was not sure about orders from Barnes and Noble. I was pleased to find out the delivery dates were pretty much the same and being a college student, I need my books as soon as I can get them. I will be purchasing books from Barnes and Noble in the future. Free shipping to Guam is the best! It's possible that they are the only online retailers that ship to my tiny island for free. "My hasband and I shop at B&N in Old Town Pasadena, CA regularly. However, we had a very unpleasant experience yesterday (2/23/13) when I returned an item. Cashier Sheryl Schrager was rude. I told her the reason I was returning the item was because I bought it on B&N website for a cheaper price. And while she was giving me the form to sign, I said that it was interesting that the same item was almost $20 cheaper on line. She started going off saying that the store has to pay for the rent.....and they have to make special orders for me, open the box for me , and call me.... Basically, she went on and on, and her attitude and her tone was extremely rude!!! Why would people go to Old Town and pay for parking to deal with bad attitude from store employees??? If more people get offended by her, more people will start shopping online, and she won't have a job because more bookstores are closing down. I think the managers should make sure their employees provide good customer service because without customers, SHE WON"T HAVE A JOB!"
