"From the first person I spoke to about exchanging the wrong sized cover for my Nook to the TONS of help we got from the lovely ladies in the Nook department to the last person we spoke to as we left the store, it was an incredibly helpful and friendly experience. "I strongly disagree with how the gift cards are managed!! After being on the phone with customer support I was told that the gift card in the 3rd position is always accessed first (the most recently added gift card).
It would make more sense to take the purchase amount from the lowest balance and continue on to the next gift card balance(s), if necessary, until the purchase amount has been rectified.
Instead, after a purchase on Friday, I was left with 3 gift cards...with the total available $$ of 92 cents...not enough to purchase even the lowest priced ebooks of 99 cents!!
I had to delete all 3 cards. I will need to readd the cards after I add a gift card of $25. From the information that I received from customer support, that is the only way that I will be able to "follow Barnes & Noble's system".
I strongly feel that the company needs to reset their way of accessing the gift card amounts. The customer should not have to go through all these hoops just to fully use the gift card amounts without defaulting to the credit card.
I do hope that this review is seen by the management of Barnes & Noble!!!

"Of all three items only two were delivered so far and took forever but my BIGGEST disappointment came with the cupcake kitchen timer which NOT didn't work but contained a WARNING label that states, "this product contains a chemical known to California to cause birth defects and other reproductive harm". This is NOT a safe product (made in China). This was a gift for my sister and now I must contact B&N to make this right and get my money back."

"I ordered a book from B&N, as I have many times before. I normally receive my orders 2 days later. On the 2nd day, when I expected the book to arrive, I instead received an email stating the shipment was being delayed and would ship in approximately 5-10 days. Seeing as I needed this book for school, I found it at a (fairly) local store, about a 45 minute drive. The next day, I drove to this store and bought the book, and cancelled my online order which still showed "not shipped". Well, when I got home from the store, what was in the mailbox but the original online order/book. I was not too happy at this point because if the online site had been updated, it would have saved me about 2 hours of time and GAS wasted driving to the store, when all I had to do was wait for the mailman! So now I have TWO of the same books, spent close to $100 between them....for the same book. Not to mention the $30 I probably burned in gas driving to the store....all because the online B&N website was WRONG. "
