"I recently returned my first rental with http://borrowlenses.com after hearing a lot of good things about them and seeing rave reviews. For this rental in particular, I rented a Canon 16-35mm, my favorite lens I can't afford. I rented for 10 days and did so because I had two weddings to shoot, two weekends in a row, and keeping the rental for 10 days was cheaper than renting it twice. It worked out perfectly for me. Another big perk to ordering from this company: the friendly customer service people.
The only complaint I have, that is keeping me from giving the 5 star rating, is that once I ordered my rental, I was called by a representative of the company and they informed me that the model I needed was not available but that I could rent a different model of the same lens for $9 more. I had no problem with this because $9 isn't that much of an upcharge, BUT I feel that the company would be better off not charging customers more because they don't have a lens on hand that was ordered. If it wasn't available, it shouldn't be listed as available on the website and subsequently, available for order. I think charging me the extra $9 instead of calling and saying "We're sorry for the inconvenience, please accept another model of the same lens at no charge" would be a much better business practice. Hope they keep that in mind for the future.
I'd probably rent from http://borrowlenses.com again, but not before trying out another couple of companies first. Had I not had the experience of being charged more, I wouldn't have hesitated to make http://borrowlenses.com my business of choice from here on out."

"My experience with borrow lenses was not so good. The lens I rented said on the website that it didn't support auto focus on 2 Nikon cameras, neither of which were mine. Order comes on schedule. But wait AF won't work with my camera. I tallk to a service rep who tells me, "nope, won't work with yours, the best we can do is charge you for only a 3 day rental instead of 7 days. Me: "but it's your mistake.". Him: "True, but you should have known better." Me: "You guys are the experts." Him: "You should have checked other websites." Me: "So I can't trust yours?" Upshot: I had the lens for 2 hours, returned it, got charged for a 3 day rental. No plans to use BorrowLenses ever again."
