The only minor complaint we had is we received a Canon 5D mkII camera body that did not have the 3-month-old firmware update installed, so we had to take time to update the body ourselves. "I received my lens rental via FedEx and returned on time. The lens was perfect, did exactly what I wanted, the prices are great and I will use the service again.... Provided they can ship with a different carrier. FedEx in the MetroWest Boston area is horrible, almost missed the lens for my trip because of them, same problem with FedEx every time. "After hearing good things from co-workers and reviews online I Got the lens for my 2 week 8000 mile road trip in a box that looks like it was seriously shipped 30 times. Beat up box, nicely packed but the box was beat up and old. After that everything was smooth. I Got an extension and everything went perfectly. Lens worked fine but after I got back I noticed a spot in every image I took.. All 17,000 of them. After I noticed it wasn't a water spot I look deeper into the lens and and there was a bubble or chip in one of the middle pieces of glass that couldn't be accessed. I understand it was a fluke but something like that I would expect to be caught before it was shipped to me. Was planning on getting another lens but now I am contemplating it. Like I said, I know it was a mishap and a fluke but it was very noticeable and should have been caught in inspection. Sent them an email explaining what happened and I haven't heard back a week later. I based my selection on reviews I have read and am pretty dissatisfied for what I paid for."

"The website was a bit misleading and had a few surprises in store for me. After placing my order I discovered that they only place a hold on credit cards, but if you use a debit card you get charged immediately. Then they needed to verify my address, and in doing so they pushed the shipping date back and charged me extra money to ship the product over night. The product didn't even turn out to be what I intended to order, which was my fault for not researching more, but there were too many surprises in this experience for my liking. I hope that if I give this website another try it goes A LOT better without the extra charges or surprises!"

"I have never rented camera equipment before and was really glad to find a vendor that does that. This provides me with experience with the device before I buy it. I rented a speedlight SB600 for family photos and a wedding. It worked great and arrived on the date I requested. The flash was packed very snugly in the box and had clear instructions on how to send it back. Was really glad to see an invoice in the box also. I had no problem operating this flash but I might recommend having a "quick start" documentation for people who might not know what they are doing. Thanks BorrowLenses!"
