"DO NOT BUY FROM BUILD DIRECT!

I ordered the "Vesdura Vinyl Planks 8.7mm WPC Click Lock" along with moldings and stair noses for my project that includes a stairway. The website advertised a .7mm wears layer and the floor board sample I received looked good with a nice durable wear layer.

After ordering, the stair noses and moldings I received are absolute junk and don't compare whatsoever in quality with the floor boards! The website only shows diagrams of these components so you can't see their terrible quality. Nowhere does the website state the wear layer is different widths for these parts compared to the floor boards. A paper thin wear layer on a high traffic stairway is guaranteed to fail in a short time.

In addition, the groove in the stair nose is completely different from the floor boards and doesn't fit. Plus the stair nose has no underlayment attached like the floor boards. Terrible!

The company only agree to pay for returning the moldings and stair noses but what good is the flooring when my project needs a matching stairway?

The company refuses to refund their "packing fee" of $33.04 and $149 of their shipping charge for a total of $184.04.

Notice a large number of complaints on this site over time and I strongly recommend you go to a local flooring store as this company will not support you and you have little recourse."

"We purchased $1,300 worth of Vesdura Mesa Tan vinyl plank flooring from them. I made the huge mistake of not reading the reviews and just going by the 5-star rating this flooring had with 21 reviews.

My husband has installed many click-lock floors of this type over the years, both laminate and vinyl. This floor installation was rated as "beginner." We thought this was going to be a breeze just like every other click-lock floor we have installed.
We were wrong.

Unfortunately, we could never even get more than three rows of this floor installed. The locking mechanism would literally crumble with normal installation activity (tapping the board in with a tapping block). Some boards were coming out of the box with the locking mechanism already chipped and crumbling.

We contacted both Build Direct and the manufacturer of the floor, Montserrat, who both sent their own 30-second installation videos. Both videos showed normal installation techniques that we had already been using in our installation attempts. There were no special hints, tips, or, tricks.

Build Direct requested a video of our installation process, which we sent. They then changed their tune, contradicted their own video and the actual manufacturer's video, and said we were installing the floor incorrectly and it was our "handling" of the product that was making the floor's locking mechanism fall apart. LOL. We were just attempting to install the floor like we had every other click-lock floor we have installed over the years.

Build Direct claimed they were shocked we were having so many issues with this floor because they hadn't ever had a complaint on it before. We found that extremely hard to believe, so I went back to read the reviews. There were two positive reviews, five negative reviews explaining the exact problems we were having with the floor, and the rest were 5-star reviews for an entirely different floor (an engineered hardwood). And it wasn't just this product that they were manipulating reviews on. I went through other floors and found the exact same thing.

Build Direct is manipulating reviews for their junk products with bad reviews by including reviews for different products in order to get the star ratings up, hoping you'll just look at the stars and won't actually go and read the reviews and check which product those reviews are actually for. They then get to sell their junk to you and then, when you complain that it's junk, they tell you it's YOUR fault for installing it wrong (as if there's a million different ways to install a click-lock floor) and you better hire a professional certified installer to install a floor that literally falls apart with normal handling.

I brought these fake reviews to Build Direct's attention. Within an hour, all the reviews for that flooring were gone from the site and only two 5-star reviews were left up.

So they don't only include fake reviews, they delete the bad reviews.

I left a detailed review on this flooring on their website and it's still yet to actually find its way to the reviews, and I'm holding out very little hope it ever will.

Unfortunately, Build Direct has revealed themselves to be a fraud. They blatantly con their customers with review manipulation. When you actually send them video of the floor's locking mechanism literally crumbling apart, leaving huge chunks missing, they tell you it's your fault. And guess what? There's nothing you can do about it. They already have your money.

Never again will I do business with Build Direct and I will be making it my part-time job to warn other consumers about them, too.

We are now stuck with $1,300 worth of junk worthless flooring that we are going to have to pay more money to dispose of.

Do not trust their reviews on ANY product.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!! Very long story short, I ordered over 3000 sq ft of flooring and paid for it. 3 days after is was supposed to arrive, I called to find out the shipping status. At that time I was told my flooring had been sold to someone else and was now out of stock. I was then told to pick out another floor and “price was not an issue.” Picked another flooring close to the same price and this company refused to ship the new product, refused to honor the original price and cost me hundreds of dollars on a construction loan, caused over a 6 week delay in my construction schedule. Now I am fighting to get a refund on close to $7,000 and starting over trying to quickly find flooring for my new home. Oh, let’s not forget that I already paid to have the existing floor prepped for TWO different types of flooring and NOTHING from Build Direct. Not even an apology"

"The product the company shipped was not the product we ordered. After numerous phone calls and requests that they pick up the wrong product and deliver the product we ordered, they refused. We had researched the products based on the installation system and chose the brand we ordered because of the installation system. "Not only do they partner with E-Bates (money back for me - woo-hoo), they also had the exact pebble-tiles I have always wanted for my bathroom and shower floors. And they were on sale because they were about to be discontinued! They were delivered days earlier than predicted by the site, and I was contacted by phone to set up a convenient delivery time. My contractor delighted in the quality of the product, and although it took three days for a total install, it was only because of the strategic arranging of the tiles (like puzzle pieces) and the huge quantity of grout necessary to fill the gaps between the pebbles and the time it took for the project to safely and totally dry. Now my bathroom is no longer ugly and unsafe, I have a great beachy-look, and I anticipate accessorizing! After having an impossible-to-clean dangerously-broken tile floor for years, which had broken three times (due to the incompetence of another contractor) it is a real joy to have the perfect product at a great price, We could have saved delivery charges by picking up the tiles, but as we are now in our more senior years (60s), at over a two hour drive one way from our home to the merchant, and add the gas and wear and tear on our old Jeep, we thought that paying for the delivery would be a better option. It was! Let me warn you, we did not choose the flat pebbles -- we chose full, rounded pebbles, which is not a completely flat floor. It's bumpy. You feel the rocks beneath your feet, but I love it. It's like a foot massage and provides a good grip in the shower as well -- not slippery! So if you have painful feet, you might want to go for a different type of product."
